6:05 am
juli: smith said the height of his truck is 13 feet, and wires are supposed to be 15 feet high. another issue that made this even more complicated is that there was still wet concrete in the back of that truck so even once the wires came down and were tangled around it, that drum kept rolling the whole time. in roslindale, juli mcdonald, wcvb, newscenter 5. antoinette: the investigation continues after police shoot and kill a carjacking suspect in lynn. police say 33-year-old randolph mcclain carjacked a woman at gunpoint. he was trying to get away from police, who had just shown up with a warrant for his arrest. he was wanted for making threa with a gun against his ex-girlfriend and her family. witnesses describe hearing multiple shots after mcclain pointed his gun at police. >> i heard like six more shots that sounded like at first it sounded like somebody was shooting. then retaliated. antoinette: mcclain vowed he wouldn't be caught; and when police showed up at his home,

to your workweek. and the of january is actually side too. above normal. i expect today to be running above where we should be. 32 right now in boston. 24 worcester. you see it's 27 in hartford and 34 on nantucket. there's a little bit of a wind out there this morning. you're going to feel it. any today from 10-15 miles an hour it's really going to blow. we're going to see a lot of sunshine to start. more clouds increasing though as we work our way deeper into the afternoon. so upper 30's for worcester. 40 degrees in boston. low 40's on the south shore, the cape and the islands. it will be a mix of sun and clouds. as high pressure tries to come-- dominate our weather. we're watching this system up to the north. this will bring in clouds later today. a couple of flurries popping up and light snow showers out in western new york. we have really dry air over us. i don't necessarily think we're going to see that. we do watch this other system
6:12 am
this could bring us a couple of showers come monday. but for the day you notice there could be a couple of clouds working their way through in the afternoon. and tonight we'll call it partly cloudy to mostly cloudy dropping back into the 20's and 30's depending on where you live and then tomorrow with that southwest wind, we warm up into the upper 40's and low 50's. again a mix of sun and clouds. and tomorrow night into monday morning, there could be some fog around. low-level clouds. be aware of that. it's all because mild air is going to work its way in as we head into sunday night and into monday out ahead of this warm front. notice on monday we start out dry. but we could see a couple of hit-or-miss showers through the afternoon as this trailing cold front comes through. everybody though is going to see mild air and the rain chances go up not only on monday but also on wednesday. that's where more significant rain will come through from another system. so let's talk about that one and
