this is wcvb newscenter 5 at 5:00. ed: right off the top, we are tracking snow for the morning commute. heather: winter storm warnings are in effect. harvey: all right, i have to show you what is important here. it has been a winter storm warning and it is in effect and it includes the greater metropolitan area. the storm we are talking about is going to be closer and in a include snowfall. that is what we' re dealing with. it is 53 in boston but the air is chillier and that is the further north you get. the snow you see going down the region. this storm will take track that is very favorable to bring

this will sort out as rain at around 10:00 or 11:00 tonight in boston, but look, we are changing over to snow in the northwest of boston and then in the deeper part of the morning commute, the deeper the snow will get and that line will move southeast. they will turn over and get several hours of meaningful snow as well. but because boston and the greater boston metropolitan area will be in the heavier snow longer, that is where the heavier amounts will be. so my best estimate on amounts is a wide swath through the greater boston metropolitan area and you can see anywhere from four to eight inches of snow and it is going to be wet, pasty snow and it will cling to shrubs, trees, and power lies. here is mike. mike: let'

cape cod probably not flipping there until after the commute. there is the storm, it moves out in the late evening and that we have tranquil weather, relatively speaking, for saturday. here it comes, rain moving into boston, but look, 5:00 a.m., we have a mix of rain and wet snow. we start to see pockets of snow. then it flips over to snow and the snow can come down perhaps as much as an inch per hour for several hours once the flip has been completely made until around midday early afternoon time. down towards the cape, it takes a long time to flip over, it will happen, and then everything exits. how much snow are we talking about? i want to show you the computer models. this is one of our computer models that is the most bullish and is producing 10 inches of
