then we had a little over an inch, worcester, new bedford and quincy coming in at one inch of snow. we had the incredible record breaking cold over the weekend. those were the readings earlier today, we had enough cold to support snow for a while, but not for that long, warm air aloft has been flying in, just at ground level, look how much warmer it is now compared to 24 hours ago. yet even being that much freezing out here. you got now an ice situation. there is another look at boston, low clouds, fog, rain is falling where it's 34 of the east. the wind direction is critical. where the wind is out of the east or southeast, that's brought the mild ocean air in. inland, the low level cold is in check so when you look at the temperatures, look at what you find.

providence. 34 in boston, you jump to 19 in worcester. it's just a little bit to the north and west of boston, in fact most of i-95 is still below freezing. now the warm air is going to win eventually, but cold air is dense and hard to remove. here in the connecticut river valley, extreme northern mass, southern new hampshire, as you head into the early part of the morning commute tomorrow, it's warmer than it is now, it may not be above 32. green is showing the rain and the pink color is the freezing rain, the snow has now moved north of the border. there is more moisture coming for the next hours and it will be lighter toward morning. there could be freezing drizzle over the inland areas. pink is the ice, green is the rain and the white and the purple indicating the snow which is continuing to fly northward as the warm air flies in at higher levels of the atmosphere. it has done it at low levels near the coast, but not the case inland. the commute tomorrow, the connecticut river valley,
11:20 pm
northern mass, probably like fitchburg and nashua, new hampshire, all still below 32 degrees early tomorrow morning. get deeper into the commute and finally that low level cold will be scoured out. then it's about warm temperatures, wind, and downpours. look at these downpours that come in from west to east late tomorrow. this could produce over an inch of rain, some brief localized street flooding. the ground is frozen and there is know. this can have some lightning and thunder and strong winds and clearing up afterwards. high wind watch goes into effect for tuesday afternoon. this is the potential in terms of winds. it could be 50 to 60 on the cape, 40 to 50 on the coast, 30 or 40 higher inland especially in the heavier downpours. here is an example of what we're talking about. see the strong gusts, sometimes it's a little bit overdone, the idea is correct. look at the high temperatures that we will have tomorrow afternoon.
11:21 pm
storm goes west and drags the warm air in. temperatures will be below normal by thursday. all of that reflected in the next seven days so tomorrow starts out a little bit icy still well inland, others the downpours late, the high wind, temperatures sore into the 50's, back into seasonal temperatures as we get toward the middle of the week and the coldest day is thursday as well as friday morning. so that's it. amazing changes we have had and many more big ones still to so. ed: speaking of amazing, what would you do if you won the lottery? maria: do i have to answer now? ed: think about it. maria: thanks, ed. one woman helped her cash to help a total stranger, the chain of good deeds that she
