randy: breaking news overnight, a deadly shooting in randolph. emily:the eyeopener' s sera congi is live at the scene with what we know right now. sera: this is still very busy scene behind me. investigators collecting evidence evidence, and recently a car was towed. the da' s office says randolph police found a man in his mid 20' s shot dead outside the bar around 1:00 this morning. his identity has not been released pending notification of his family. randolph police made an arrest very quickly, they found the alledge suspect right across the street. district attorney michael moments ago. >> the chief is very concerned that this appeared to be a contained and single incident. sera : the da would not specify

shooting. no information about what led to the shooting, still working the investigation. the suspect will be arraigned later today in quincy court. randy: also breaking overnight, we are getting new information on this scary scene on the orange line. smoke filling the station. passengers kicking out a train window to escape. this morning, we know what caused this. emily: the eyeopener' s doug meehan is at state street station this morning with the breaking details. doug: massdot revealing overnight that a panel from the side of a train car fell off. two trains ran over it causing it to hit the third rail. the results pretty scary. take another look at that video from inside state street station. you can see how much smoke there was and how frantic the passengers were. all of this happening before 9:00 last night. the orange line was shut down here for about two hours because of the incident. passengers describe a harrowing ordeal.

out and let people out. >> all of a sudden, there was a big, brown pillow of smoke and everybody just ran because it was so dark. we knew it was not something safe to be around. doug: there were no reports of any injuries. the mbta has been checking the body panels on all the orange line trains overnight to make sure there are no other issues. the station has reopened and regular service is expected this morning. live in downtown boston, doug meehan, news center 5. randy: right now a prison guard is facing time behind bars. state police arrested stephen lebreux during an undercover sting in somerset. lebreaux is a correction officer at mci bridgewater. state police say an undercover officer bought heroin from him 3 times, all while lebreaux was off duty. the 40-year-old will be arraigned later today. right now a carjacking suspect, accused of targeting a mother and baby, is behind bars.

of the westgate mall in brockton yesterday. the woman had just put her infant daughter into the car when a man approached and politely told them to get out. she talked to us on the phone, . >> he said i' m going to take your car and that he was getting and he opened his jacket and he had a gun. randy: police chased down 32-year-old jose robles they say he crashed the stolen car in a stoughton neighborhood. they also recovered a pellet gun. he' ll face a judge today. emily: right now, police are investigating a homicide after a woman' s body was found in a malden apartment. officers back on the scene last night but this morning, there , are few answers for others living in the complex. police found the victim in a unit at the cliffside commons apartments on monday night, during a well-being check. management telling tenants it appears to be an issue involving individuals who lived in that

find that someone was murdered in your apartment holding. i feel pretty safe year. emily: the victim has not been identified. t saying how she died, but confirm it was not random. new this morning, a report focused on claims of racism at one of boston' s most prestigious schools is expected to be released this week. last month, black students at boston latin school accused school administrators of ignoring the use of racial slurs and offensive online taunts. community leaders tell the herald they hope the city-ordered review will seriously address those complaints. randy: the man accused of running down a teenager on a bicycle in lowell is due in court today. police say 21-year-old calvin sousa was driving that white pickup truck, when he intentionally hit the boy on lawrence street friday night. that boy is now in stable condition at boston' s children' s hospital. sousa is charged with attempted murder. one of the cases involving bill cosby is expected back in a boston courtroom today. cosby'

the sunrise is 6: so we are seeing light a little springtime. the tree limb is on a vehicle, a tough situation with those powerful winds yesterday. we expected them to gusts around 60 miles per hour. it was a wild yesterday and southerly winds that jump was open to the 50' s. we are settling back little bit today, but still in the 40' s and that is above average. temperatures will train a little bit closer to average by the end of the week. patchy clouds and 35 degrees and the wind is much,. outside of the city, bedford to beverly is freezing.

sera: crime scene investigators just recently cleared the scene in randolph. just after closing this morning around 1:00, a shooting took place and police found a man outside. they found the victim in his mid-20' s. his identity has not yet been released. the suspect was found soon after. police took him into custody across the street. it is still early in the investigation so no information with what led into the shooting. randolph police have a suspect in custody. the victim is shot outside of the bar. the suspect will be arraigned later today. emily: the state says a large panel that fell off the side of an orange line train caused this chaos in state street station last night. two trains ran over the panel knocking it into the third rail and filling the station with smoke. some passengers kicked out windows to get out of the trains. no one was hurt. all orange line trains were

doug meehan will have a live update just ahead in news to go. other stories we' re following right now, a prison guard at mci bridgewater is due in court today after he was arrested in an undercover drug sting. state police say an undercover officer bought heroin from stephen lebreux three times. right now, the man accused of running down a teenager on a bicycle in lowell is getting ready to face a judge. police say 21-year-old calvin sousa intentionally hit the boy on lawrence street friday night. the teen is in stable condition. randy: right now, dozens of passengers are finally in new york, after a nightmare trip. a plane ride home turned into a tour of new england. as we told you on yesterday' s eye, a flight from the dominican republic to jfk got diverted to manchester, new hampshire monday night because of weather. then, their second flight to new york was forced to boston because of severe turbulence.

their sex at birth. the state senate passed the bill yesterday, 20-15. it now heads to the governor. advocates say the bill will protect privacy but opponents , say it discriminates at a vulnerable age. schools would need to provide other options for transgender students, like single-occupancy bathrooms. emily: an 18-year-old is under arrest accused of pretending to be a doctor. police say malachi love-robinson was running a clinic out of west palm beach. they arrested him yesterday after he examined an undercover agent at what he called his holistic and alternative medical care clinic. it' s not clear how many patients love-robinson treated before his arrest, but the clinic had been open for at least three months. randy: a hollywood star' s instagram post could land her behind bars. actress vanessa hudgens posted this picture of a rock carved with her name and her boyfriend' s name.
