you will feel the difference in temperature. just to get it started, boston will coast through the low 40's into the 30's. then at least into the upper 20's by tomorrow morning and there won't be too much of a temperature rise tomorrow. instead of mid 40's. our highs may only be in the low 30's. more changes coming for the weekend and especially next week. we'll be talking about that more in a little while. >> a homeowner in southern new hampshire learns the hard way not to -- how not to thaw fro zen pipes. he took a blow torch and torched his entire house. it ignited a piece of insulation which started the fire that spread upward through the house. >> there are safer ways. >> takes a little longer, but at least you still have your house standing when you get the pipes thawed. >> despite the fire department's best efforts, the house is a total loss. >>

back to 1763 is heavily damaged by misfire. fire crews were able to save much of the structure. it's located next to the town library but the library was not damaged. >> police have not made any arrests after a woman was found inside an apartment the victim's body was discovered at the common apartments on monday night during a well-being check. management told tenants it appears to be an issue involving people who lived in that unit, the victim's name has not been released. investigators are not saying how she died either. >> this halifax man has been indicted on charges tied to the murder of a prostitute. he stabbed and strangled the woman last november inside his home. then hid her body in a closet. police say he got violent during an argument over how much money he owed the victim. >> time to take a look at first alert traffic. you're looking live at the southeast expressway. everything is moving fine. weather helps with that let's take a look at the maps and find

get to us our average, or what some people would say what is normal. but the thing is, it didn't happen by being normal every day. it happened by being on the extreme. that's the weather in new england. that's how we get to our average, by being at the extremes on both ends. has the last five days ever proven that. 43 in boston. the wind is out of the northwest. we have chilly air around the great lakes and southern canada that will come in. that's why it will be chillier late tonight and tomorrow morning, all dime and all the way up to early on friday. only a little bit above the freezing mark tomorrow. there may be a couple of snow flurries with the colder air over the somewhat milder ocean. very cold especially in the suburbs early friday. then we moderate a little bit into the 30's. maybe just a touch of mixed precipitation. doesn't look like much. most to the north. saturdays are

it looks like we could top off around 50 with a gusty westerly wind. a little chillier on sunday. and overnight sunday night into the first thing on monday, also, appeared of mixed precipitation. could be that areas north, especially southern new hampshire, maybe northern mass, might be cold enough for snow. just a chance. somewhat colder air moves in early next week. now it gets complicated. tuesday night either snow or mix could move in at night. on wednesday, maybe even into thursday. there is the potential for a long duration of precipitation event next week. here's the idea. we have a storm that's going to come out of the gulf. now, this is colder solution, if it tracks offshore, it will mean snow or an icy mix around here. if it tracks along the coast, the snow and the ice will get pushed further north and west andt least coastal plane would have more in the way of rain. there is potential for significant precipitation with a
