roads this morning as you head out the door. randy: tens of thousands of now because of these storms. 20,000 outages. eversource just over 10,000. and if the power goes out, or you' you. download the free wcvb mobile app to watch live and for weather alerts and breaking news. emily: take a look at this -- an 18-wheeler overturns on new york city. it' s being blamed on strong wind. that storm system, spawning tornadoes and leaving a trail of destruction along the east coast. in waverly, virginia, a 2-year-old boy, died in a tornado. three other people have now died because of storms in that state. right now emergency responders are digging through more debris in search of any other victims. the national weather service says the waverly tornado was the only confirmed twister in the state but several others are suspected tornadoes.

are bracing for what could be a day of tough questions. it' s the first full day back at work since the fbi raid targeting state senator bryan joyce. the eyeopener' s todd kazakiewich is live at the state house with the new developments in the case. todd: and those new developments may only increase calls here on beacon hill for senator joyce to resign. this is the video from last week. his office. he' s been under fire for alleged misuse of campaign money and receiving free dry cleaning from a local business. now the globe reports federal joyce' s involvement in a massive college. joyce recently represented stonehill and the company that installed about 9,000 solar panels at the school at the same time he pushed for legislation on clean energy projects. a grand jury has allegedly been joyce'

comment on the project calling his client is the victim of a quote media circus. earlier this week, joyce announced he would not see reelection. emily: right now a crash that killed a 17-year-old and critically injured her brother is under investigation. it happened in barre as the teenagers were on their way to school. police say brittany murch of hubbarston lost control of her kia spectra and slammed into a tree on route 62. the impact split the car in two. murch died at the scene her 15-year-old brother griffin was pulled from the wreckage. school had been delayed for two hours on wednesday because of icy roads. emily: a cambridge police officer is now cited after a hit and run crash this weekend. ryan callinan is accused of hitting a woman on her bike sunday then taking off. callinan was off duty at the time but witnesses got his plate number. police are promising an unbiased investigation. the 32-year-old woman who was

recovering. emily: a former massachusetts governor is jumping into the race for the white house. but not in the way some had speculated. the eye' s erika tarantal is here with mitt romney' s shot at his own party' s front-runner. erika: this latest fight coming just hours before another gop showdown. former republican nominee mitt romney saying there might be a bombshell somewhere in trump' s tax returns, which have not been released. >> either he is not as wealthy as he says he is or he has not been paying the kind of taxes he has the next acted to pay. perhaps he has not been giving money to the vets or the disabled like he has been telling us. emily: four years ago romney asked for, and received, trump' s endorsement for president. last night, trump fired back at romney in typical trump fashion, on twitter, mitt romney, who totally blew an election that should have been won and whose tax returns made him look like a fool, is now playing tough guy. when mitt romney asked me for my endorsement last time around, he was so awkward and goofy that we

not win. the gop field debates tonight in texas with super tuesday now just days away. emily: on the democrat side, hillary clinton is in south weekend' s primary. yesterday she picked up an endorsement from senate minority leader harry reid. reid says he thinks the party should back the former secretary of state and move past the current primary season as quickly as possible. bernie sanders will spend the first part of his day in ohio. he was on the trail in missouri yesterday speaking to crowd of supporters in kansas city. sanders has said he will return to vermont next week to vote in the super tuesday primary there. massachusetts also votes on super tuesday. randy: right now a billion dollar casino project is on

you can see the damage reports up and down the seaboard. it has been a powerful storm. the bulk of the activity here is across southeastern massachusetts. the most intense cell is east of marshfield. outside of that, a couple storms coming up racing northeastward. a finer line of storms with brief, heavy downpours crossing over boston. it is lifting northward towards norse -- towards north reading. this whole line associated with our storm system. this is a cold front coming through. you can see the rotation. cold air and snow behind us. warm out of the head of the storm. temperatures rise to around 60.
