karen: the possibility of parole just means more heartache. >> our family will be forced to attend parole hearings beginning in 38 years, which is simply unimaginable. we will have to relive that day for a rehearing. karen: because in 2013, the massachusetts supreme judicial parole for those that commit crime before they are 18. >> i want everyone to see the impact of that decision. this family, who has suffered beyond measure, cannot close the book on this case. karen: the change in sentence he began with the u.s. supreme court, which decided these sentences for minors were cruel and unusual commitment, a constitutional violation. judges in each state were alleged discretion. massachusetts took that discretion away, citing that the brains of juveniles in developed differently than adults, and may not have the same awareness.

that the juvenile mind is capable of distinguishing right from wrong. the decision is not only disrespectful to colleen, but also those that love her. this decision was a betrayal to all victims and their families. karen: the ritzers are trying to change the law to give judges more discretion. karen anderson, wcvb newscenter 5 investigates. maria: breaking news concerning mark wahlberg' s movie about the boston bombings. a key scene was going to be filmed in watertown in the neighborhood where it happened. but tonight, a major change. new at 7:00, newscenter 5' s mary saladna is live in watertown with what happened. mary? mary: we are on laurel street. you can see belittle' s on some of the houses. -- you can see bullet holes on some of the houses. even though the shootout between the tsarnaev brothers was dramatic, neighbors wanted that to be filmed where it happened.

they said to make it authentic. now town officials have overruled the majority of neighbors and announced the shootout scene will be filmed elsewhere. >> i am angry. i think they should let them do it here. they are making it all about trauma. the police department did a wonderful thing here, it brought the neighborhood together. i think they should let them do it here for authenticity. >> you think it to be the town' s decision for the neighbor' s? >> absolutely the neighbor' s. they are all in agreement. why all of a sudden does the town want to go in a different direction? >> i' m disappointed.i would' ve been excited . mary: in a statement released late today, the town says "upon further reflection, filling every creation of the watertown judah is not in the best interest of watertown. another location will be identified to film."

why they had a change of heart. our calls to town officials so far have gone unanswered. maria: sky 5 over a serious car crash on route-93 south in canton just a few hours ago, shut down the highway and created a major rush-hour traffic problem. back-ups stretching from boston to milton and beyond. one person was taken by helicopter from the scene. part of the guard rail actually went through the car. the cause of the crash is under investigation. ed: commitment 2016, new jersey governor chris christie stunning the republican establishment by endorsing donald trump for president. newscenter 5' s sera congi is live at the state house, where governor baker is not following suit. sera: governor baker actually endorsed chris christie. he says he is surprised by christie' s move.

maria: it' s a helpful tool developed out of a tragedy. ed: a local company has created a unique camera the size of a ball that can give first responders a look inside places they can' t go. mike wankum has tonight' s cutting edge. mike: it may look like a childs toy, but this is explorer. it' s a throwable camera. the original idea came out in the haiti earthquake in 2010. rescuers were trying to find survivors, but there was no easy or safe way to get inside the collapsed buildings. robots were expensive and unavailable. >> my brother, who is the ceo was frustrated and started to be easier to find out if there is someone. >> carolina i can limit, still a student at m.i.t., working with

giving us a windchill index below the 20 degree mark. it feels like 18 degrees. clear skies, gorgeous evening. just have to bundle up a little bit against the wind. it' s going to start to relax through the evening hours. also out west, mild air, which is poised to move in. you notice it showing up in sunday' s forecast. your of the wind gusts, still gusting to 36 mile per hour in boston. the wins will diminish still a bit busy tomorrow. a bit of the windchill index, but not as bad as today. sunday becomes the real warmth . it feels like 13 degrees in worcester, 15 in orange. feels like only 3 in pittsfield. cold, cold stuff with the breeze to the west. the wind will die down, but the temperature will die down as well. windchill index will hold in the teens, dropping off as we starts tomorrow morning. then we starts to climb up into the afternoon. clear and cold tonight, diminishing winds 12-18

s the air temperature, not the windchill. bundle up headed out to make. tomorrow is sunny. a chilly breeze at 36 in the morning. a lot like today, but the wind is switching directions, going to the southwest. that brings in the warmer air. that is why you see such mild temperatures on sunday. high-pressure drift to the east. we get a southwesterly flow and we are headed back into the 50' s. we might stay there for a little while. that warm air is going to be around for event. tomorrow, 38 degrees, the cold start to the day. only about 16 degrees. warming up through the afternoon. sunday is my old. on average about 52 degrees for a high. i think with the southwesterly wind, the cape and islands will be blowing across the cool ocean water. it will be a bit chillier near the shoreline. otherwise inland is where temperatures will reach the 50' s. speaking of the 50' s, we stayed there towards monday. but monday, a few showers commit. a q weak cold front coming in.not looking for much rain out of it .
