harper tonight, jack? reporter: as you know there is going to be a funeral service at virginia tomorrow, and then here in west springfield. a special memorial service a week from today. >> we are looking at roughly from speaking with the chief about 5,000 officers coming up. reporter: west springfield native ashley glendon willy remembered here. at 28 the prince william county officer was killed in her first day on-the-job answering a domestic call. >> to see a young person go off and commit a life to public service and to be taken down on her very first day is simply beyond imaginable. reporter: at merrimack high she is remembered as someone who chose a life of service. her mother still lives in the new hampshire town. >> it was certainly a tragic thing to find out not only was this individual from our own close knit law enforcement family, but a member of the

attempted to attack a police officer with a syringe and then lead officers on a wild chase. at his arraignment we learned revere is not the only department who is after him. >> he does belong. reporter: michael guthrow covered his face. he turned himself in on a slew of charges and most recently on a traffic stop. a police officer reached into a car to keep him from driving away. >> they grabbed the syringe and made an attempt to stab the officer's hand that was in the vehicle holding a shoulder. reporter: police say guthrow lead them on a high speed chase into chelsea. >> he stopped his car and attempted to cause the officer to rear end him. reporter: the officer suffered a concussion and other injuries. guthrow got away from florida

temperatures will be around 40 degrees. it is not as mild as today's 64. i want to show you the temperatures tomorrow night. precipitation will be moving in around midnight. just before that the temperature may be flirting with 32 especially north and west. there could be a little sleet or a touch of freezing rain before the milder temperatures work in. then you wake up on wednesday morning and the temperatures are shooting up again. following that is when we will see colder weather move in here on wednesday night. from wednesday night through the weekend, it will be a lot colder . tomorrow of course super tuesday in massachusetts as well, to give you an idea of what the weather has been like boston and the metro area, 40 or low 40s in the afternoon. no precipitation. definitely a reasonable amount of sunshine. if you are talking about areas north of boston, dry

upper 20s to 30. moving to the low 40s. back to the 30s or so in the evening. worcester area may be a couple of degrees colder. it may top off under 40 degrees. and in areas south of boston it may edge to the mid to low 40s. it is a little milder there. we won't forget all of you on the cape. your high temperature will be around 39 or 40 degrees. no precipitation tomorrow. i did want to mention late tonight for those watching in the birkshires there could be a snow squall. then you have sunshine tomorrow and the clouds coming in at the end of the day. and notice by about 11:00 tomorrow night precipitation approaches and especially worcester north and west and it will be cold enough for a bit of freezing rain before the milder temperatures take over. and then all of us get some rain for the first half of wednesday and then we clear out on wednesday afternoon. that starts the windy and the colder period of time.
