minneapolis and miami. hillary clinton spent most of monday in massachusetts holding events in springfield and boston. rival bernie sanders held a rally not far away in milton. in a one-on-one interview, he told newscenter 5 he believes his campaign is resonating with young people. sanders: what we are trying to do is bring millions of people into the political process. what i have said over and over again, no president can do it alone. we need millions of people to stand up. erika: as for talk that this could be his last stand, sanders was quick to point out that there are a lot more contests to go after super tuesday. for the g.o.p., the question is can anything stop donald trump's momentum? the eye's kelley tuthill swampscott where the state's republican governor will cast his vote today. kelley: yes, we expect him a little later this morning. as you know, charlie baker put chris christie, is out throwing his support to donald

today. but this morning, trump is headlining a new controversy. the secret service is looking into this violent showdown at a donald trump event in virginia. an agent body-slamming a "time magazine" photographer who was trying to take a photo of "black trump continued to dodge questions about not rejecting support from a former ku klux klan leader. something his rivals are taking aim at. rubio: he blamed it on a bad ear piece, that he couldn't hear the question. i don't care how bad the ear piece is, ku klux klan comes through pretty clearly and he refuses to criticize it. kelley: g.o.p. candidate ted cruz speaking at an event in his home state of texas. he claims if trump wins the republican nomination, then hillary clinton will be the next president. most polling places open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 tonight. and again we're expecting charlie baker to cast his vote here in a little while.

reportedly looking into a housing project in easton as they investigate state senator brian joyce. "the globe" reports the u.s. attorney's office subpoenaed all documents related to the $43 million project. joyce represented the developer. he's an attorney. this follows a raid on the lawmaker's canton law offices last month. his lawyer has said joyce has done nothing wrong. right now a hazmat scene is clear after a scare at children's hospital. firefighters say a hot plate was left on in a lab just before 9:00 last night. that caused a plastic container to melt and a chemical to spill onto the floor. the incident prompted a level 3 hazmat response, but the smoke was not toxic. it happened inside a research building away from patients. nobody was hurt. right now two people are dead after a late-night crash in kensington, new hampshire. it happened on north haverhill road. a third person was injured in the crash. no other details have been released. emily: a show of support and

police officer from new england. ashley guindon's body given an escort with full honors. her funeral is set for today just days after she was gunned down during her first shift. several officers from her hometown of merrimack, new hampshire, are heading south to be there today. guindon was shot and killed while responding to a domestic-violence call on saturday. she was born in west springfield, massachusetts, and will be laid to rest there. >> we're going to have a ceremony in st. thomas church. she'll be buried at st. thomas cemetery as well. we're looking at roughly speaking 5,000 officers coming up. emily: guindon will be buried next to her father, an iraq war veteran. dramatic new video released from a deadly officer-involved shooting in dorchester earlier this month. >> a suspect down. emily: one man was killed after exchanging gunfire with a boston

february 12. boston police were responding to reports of a shooting when they came face to face with the armed man. he was shot after reportedly ignoring several demands to drop his weapon. the suffolk county district attorney's office is investigating. randy: right now a rhode island clerk is hurt after he was shot multiple times during a robbery. that clerk still able to call for help. the eye's doug meehan is here with the search for the suspect. doug: this is the man police are looking for right now. they say he was last seen running from the store in cranston with a gun. the shooting happened during an attempted robbery at the bestway on park ave just after 8:00 last night. police say the clerk was shot several times, including in the head. he's listed in critical condition this morning but amazingly was still able to call 9-1-1 for help. police say they believe a woman left the store as the robbery was in progress. they're now looking for her or any other witnesses this morning. randy, emily?

this is going to bring us some rain by this time tomorrow. but maybe just cold enough overnight as it works on in. it may start out as freezing rain north and west of we do have a winter weather advisory in effect overnight for that reason. we've dropped into the 20 worcester on back to orange. 37 beverly. 38 boston. it is still 40 plymouth. 40's on the cape. but when you factor in those winds it's feeling like it's in the teens and 20's in a lot of spots. that's what you need to be dressed for out the door this morning. skies have been clearing out. the last of the clouds here hugging the south coast and the cape with our frontal boundary. we'll see lots of sunshine today. just a few clouds. temperatures recovering back into the low 40's by this afternoon. average high this time of year is in the lower 40's so certainly more seasonal today than what yesterday was all about. we're dry through about 8:00 this evening. and then as we get closer to midnight, look what happens. we get that system to start to come on in. you see the pink showing up here through worcester county into southern new hampshire, that's again where we could have some

very briefly around midnight. and then by about 5:00 tomorrow morning, we have warmed up. so we're talking about plain old rain, some embedded downpours to will impact the morning commute during the early part of the day tomorrow. temperatures starting out tonight in the 30's. look at this. what happens is you get the strong southerly wind pushing the temperatures up so out the door tomorrow morning, it's going to be close to 50 degrees. it's a very warm, wet and windy start here coming up on wednesday. u can see those downpours through about 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning but shortly after lunch, the rain is exiting and i think the sun makes an appearance in the afternoon tomorrow. so it's a wet start to the day. half an inch to maybe up to an inch of rainfall, looks the heaviest rain will be out in the western part of the state. look at the strong winds in the morning. could see gusts close to 50 miles per hour. then as the winds shift to the us out. that's why the rain shuts off clear. but the temperatures are going to be dropping. highs tomorrow early in the day right around 50.

the day tomorrow. so it's a changeable day coming up wednesday. colder air settling in thursday with mainly dry weather expected here heading into the weekend but i do want to caution you, we're still watching this ocean storm. still looks like it will pass mainly on out to sea but down along the south coast, the cape and the islands, there is a distinct possibility that you could get fringed by snow out of this system. we are watching closely. otherwise it's out of here and it's a dry start to the upcoming weekend. olessa: thank you, cindy. so far a quiet start on the roads. we are watching one problem spot south of town on 24 on the southbound side. overnight accident. the investigation is ongoing. it's got the right lane closed. just south of 93. once you get past that all the overnight construction is now gone. so far we're in good shape as you travel into boston. roadwork approaching the zakim bridge. that picks up early. no problem otz if pike or route 9 this morning. the construction we had on 128 south by route 2, that too has now cleared away. the trains and the buses are running on schedule.

that's look at your trafng. emily: continuing our super tuesday coverage. the election map is full of opportunities today, but the math for the remaining candidates is tricky. all of them trying to secure enough delegates to force others out of the race. when it comes to the g.o.p., our republican analyst pat griffin says there are three things to watch as the votes come in tonight. first, keep your eye on texas. senator ted cruz is predicted to do well there but how well. second, look at georgia. griffin says donald trump will win; but with a big evangelical, socially conservative population, cruz could also pick up some ground. finally, watch massachusetts. will john kasich's time here pay off at the polls? all the candidates will be doing the math tonight. pat griffin: remember it's proportional. up like the march 15 contest, there's an opportunity for other

delegates. emily: griffin says what would be surprising is if donald trump didn't essentially sweep the table. ahead in our next half hour, the number that could make a big difference for the democrats. randy: your economy headlines this tuesday. asian stocks were mostly higher overnight except for china where weak manufacturing kept shares low. right now u.s. stock futures are higher after a down day on monday. today investors will be looking for a new report on car sales. which have been up recently. it's the end of the line for late night service on the "t." the mbta board voted to nix the service starting march 18. supporters have called it a safe alternative for students and late-night workers. board members have said the service is not cost-effective. the first drug approved to target the female libido is facing new controversy this morning. a review of studies on the drug marketed as "addyl" claim the benefits are only marginal. addyl was rejected twice by the f.d.a. over concerns about its

doug meehan, wcvb, newscenter 5. randy: doug, thank you. new overnight, two people are hurt after this single-car crash in randolph. it happened just after 1:30 this morning on route 24 south. the car veered off the highway and into the woods. state police say two people were taken to the hospital, but their injuries are unclear right now. emily: two people are dead and another is injured after a crash in kensington, new hampshire. it happened around 10:30 last night on north haverhill road. the two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. the third person was flown to the hospital. the road was shut down while state police investigated. randy: a hazmat scene is clear after a scare at children's hospital. firefighters say a hot plate was left on in a lab just before 9:00 last night. that caused a plastic container to melt and a chemical to spill onto the floor. the incident prompted a level 3 hazmat response, but the smoke was not toxic. it happened inside a research building away from patients. nobody was hurt. emily: malden police are searching for this man. he's accused of trying to rob a convenience store with a
