streaking across the fire overnight and this was no meteor. a mystery. we have the answer to that mystery. a good thursday morning. we begin with hillary clinton preparing to take the stage for the final day of the dnc today. dnc, that is, today, after some of the biggest names in politics delivered a rallying cry on her behalf. >> president obama had the crowd on their started speaking. defending his own legacy and depicting donald trump as a bully who's unfit to be president. then there was a grateful hillary clinton who joined the president on stage after he praised her intelligence, toughness and tenacity. >> vice president joe biden didn't mince any words accusing trump of exploiting our fears. the latest from lauren lyster live from philadelphia. good morning. >> reporter: good morning, kendis and diane. democratic leaders trying to

wooing voters with your charisma but dealing with crises and tragedy, things like the sandy hook massacre and other horrible events and he was trying to make the distinction in his speech in that video of the tough times kind of punctuated that. that this is a tough job and he was making the point that in his view with hillary clinton's resume, she is qualified to do it and donald trump is not. >> all right, certainly puts things into perspective as to protesters are expected to gather around the convention center there in philadelphia for the fourth straight day. at least seven demonstrators were arrested last night after climbing a security fence. many are demanding sweeping democratic reforms. and not that they needed it but democrats were armed with a new round of ammunition to use against donald trump handed to them by donald trump himself. >> earlier in the day trump called on russia to hack hillary clinton's e-mails and release

this was the scene in los angeles last night as a car plowed in the front of a home where a bible study meeting was taking place. at least one was killed. eight others hurt. some seriously. the female driver fled the scene after the accident and was being sought by police. the victims inside the house range in age between 40 and 80. we do have new video of that terror as it unfolded. police moving in on the church, shields up, the two attackers inside with the hostages, using them to block the door. one hostage is seen being led to safety. see it right there. moments later the killer is running out shot dead by the police. isis claimed responsibility and the pope reacting to the murder of the priest calling it an act of war. but pope francis clarifying his remarks saying it's not a religious war. prosecutors in baltimore have dropped the charges against
