>> you are watching newscenter 5 at 5:00. jc: right now, an active search is underway for a second suspect in the shooting of two san diego police officers. one officer is dead, another hurt, after they were shot last night during a traffic stop. that second officer is expected to survive. it's still unclear what started the violence. one suspect is in custody, but police are warning residents to remain in their homes as the search for the other suspect continues. a man once convicted of killing washington, d.c. intern chandra levy will not be re-tried. now, marci gonzales reports, there are new questions surrounding that decision by prosecutors and a new quest for answers. reporter: today, authorities asking if not this man, who killed chandra levy?
