worcester. this happened monday afternoon near castle park. after the shooting, officers found four boys hiding in that area. all 4 were arrested for trespassing. an 18-year-old is expected in court today, but it's unclear if he's facing charges in the shooting. >> you hope the worst case does not happen. it just rips out your heart. emily: this morning we're hearing from the family of a 7-year-old boy who drowned while at a south boston day camp. that camp will reopen today, as the family prepares to honor the little boy. randy: the eyeopener's juli mcdonald is in south boston with the plans in place. >> no doubt it will be a somber day here as campers return for the first time since that tragedy. kyzr willis drowned at carson beach last week, after slipping away unnoticed. his death forcing the city to enact stronger safety protocols

today, including 34 new security cameras. his uncle telling us this has been a nightmare. tonight, with broken hearts, they will gather to remember the little boy at a vigil outside the curley community center kyzr loved so much. >> we are asking people to come and show support for the family. they need to know they have support. >> the vigil is scheduled to start at0. emily: new video from a wild police chase through the south coast. and it was a witness who helped bring it to an end. this morning the suspect is under arrest after police say he was waving a hatchet behind the wheel. randall harrison is accused of leading police on a 20-mile chase through several towns yesterday. witnesses describe a chaotic scene, which finally ended in new bedford. police in front of the suspect

emily: in february, president obama was denied $1.9 billion in funding to combat zika. health experts believe it could be too late to slow the spread by the time congress returns after labor day. both house and senate leaders say there remains 384 million dollars in zika funding. randy: a big improvement in the polling for hillary clinton. over donald trump according to a new cnn poll. that survey coming after the dnc and amid growing controversy for the trump campaign. the gop nominee will be in virginia this morning for a rally. trump didn't mention the family of a muslim soldier killed in iraq at either of his events yesterday, but an air force mother was booed when she asked trump's running mate mike pence, whose son is a marine, about the issue.

emily: a home invasion caught on camera in new hampshire. police are searchior home around 2:00 a.m. monday. you can see he's wearing a mask as he peeks through a window. the front door was unlocked and he walked right in. the homeowner says her two daughters were asleep on the couch just feet from the robber. >> my skin is still crawling. thinking about the girls right there. think god they did not wake up. emily: the robber made off with a purse. police are urging everybody to keep their doors locked. a plastic bag ban on the table

we will take any drop of rain we can get. we hope they hold together as they continue to meander eastward. an umbrella is a good idea. the lightning strikes are waning a little bit out of albany. since midnight, there has in over an inch of rain. if these showers hold together, we could get rain around here. every drop is welcome. our across the state. deficits just keep growing. we will take this rain. it looks as though our opportunity of seeing the rain will come early this morning. by 8:00 this morning, rain chances start to lower. by noon, we are drying out ross the area. some changes are coming. lightning strikes north of

strong-armed organizers into inviting an lgbt group to march. the south boston veterans council claims the mayor threatened to withhold permits. it's part of a lawsuit filed in march, accusing the mayor and the boston police commissioner of violating the group's constitutional right. the mayor denies the claims. emily: also new this morning, boston's city council is now considering a ban on plastic shopping bags. the council says it's taking environmental concerns into consideration. they've asked for a 90-day study of how the city can reduce the use of plastic bags. the study group may recommend new laws. brookline and cambridge have recently passed similar bans. randy: your economy headlines, a public meeting will be held today on general electric's big move to boston. the company will present its first presentation to the boston civic design commission. that's as we get a look at plans for their new headquarters. the company hopes to develop a 2

early plans call for the rehab of two existing brick buildings and a new 12-story building. a 2-stage opening is scheduled for 2018. governor charlie baker signs into law a bill that requires equal pay for equal work. the bill takes effect in july, 2018. it also includes a first-in-the-nation ban on employers asking job applicants to provide a salary history. backers say women currently earn about 82% of what their male counterparts do. checking the markets, asian stocks were mostly lower overnight thanks in part to sinking oil prices. right now u.s. stock futures are lower. today investors will be watching for new data on car sales. emily: your health now, changes to mcdonald's menu. -- your health now getting , protein without the negative impacts of red meat.

emily: a south boston camp reopens today with a new set of rules after the drowning of a 7-year-old. a vigil will be held tonight for kyzr willis. he drowned last week after center, unnoticed. his death prompted stronger safety protocols at all city run camps, starting today. >> oh my god. randy: terrifying moments for a driver in roxbury caught in the middle of a shooting. right now, a 21-year-old man is under arrest after this scene on dale street saturday. police say devaughn dardy is facing several charges in the shooting.

high bail for these two men accused i need 10 -- accused in 10 break-ins at atms and stores around new england. investigators say david barker and efrain montero began their spree last october stealing $120,000 worth of computer equipment from a mansfield apple repair store. barker and montero then allegedly burglarized several other stores and atms. the suspects are held on emily: a swampscott man will face a dangerousness hearing tomorrow accused of burning down his own home. timothy brosnan appeared in court on arson charges yesterday. police say brosnan told them he torched the nearly million dollar home over the weekend because his wife was moving in the next day. nobody was seriously hurt in the fire. a long-time fbi electronics technician pleads guilty to funneling sensitive information

u.s. citizen was charged with making false statements in connection with his security clearance in order to gain access to the information. his lawyers say chun deeply regrets what he did. randy: tight water restrictions are in place in concord after someone tampered with one of the town's water tanks. it started when inspectors found a broken lock on a storage tank. they isolated that system as a precaution. now people can't water lawns or fill up swimming pools. concord is also asking people to take faster showers, and wash only full loads of laundry. the town manager says it'll take a day or two to test the water. emily: the sox snag a win in seattle. they go scoreless with the mariners last night until the bottom of the 7th. an rbi double gets the mariners on the board. but top of the 8th aaron hill with a solo homerun to tie it up. mookie betts with the another homer in the ninth and that would end it. sox win 2 to 1.
