leader mitch mcconnell, asking them to call congress back into session as soon as possible. lawmakers aren't due back 'til september. lynch, who calls zika a national security and public health crisis, is a co-sponsor of a bill that provides $1.9 billion in emergency funding to fight zika. ben: president obama again saying that donald trump is unfit to be on republican leaders to withdraw their endorsements. janet wu reports that trump is firing back. jericho he sent this message to mitch mcconnell, house speaker paul ryan, and senator john mccain. >> there has to be a point at which you say this is not somebody i can support for president of the united states. the fact that that has not yet happened makes some of these denunciations very hollow. there has to come a point at which you say enough.

ed: ayer police are asking for the public's help after the tricycle of a boy with special needs is stolen. the tricycle. his parents tell police it was stolen from their yard. if you have seen it call ayer police. heather: the pokemon go craze invades a new hampshire day care. the wildly popular smartphone game raised safety concerns after players started showing up at the portsmouth center. the day care's director did a little digging and found out the facility was a pokemon gym, where players gather to do cyber battle with their characters.

heather: a family from framingham is upset with the mspca tonight. they say when their cat got lost recently animal rescuers did not , do enough to find them. new at 6:00, as newscenter 5's david bienick reports, this tale does not have a happy ending. >> this is the last cat. dav they put up last week after their 14-year-old cat didn't come home. >> i knew something was up. david: the neighborhood fountain thought he wasa a stray and took him to an animal hospital. >> he had a wonderful home, and they robbed us of that they robbed that of my family,. david: she says they should have used the address left by the neighbor to track them down. instead, 48 hours later, he was put down.

been to reunite you with your cat? >> a phone call, do your due diligence. david: did it seem like a step they should have taken, to reach out to authorities? >> perhaps. david: the mspca they were initially focused on treating him, who they say was in severe conditions because of his diabetes. they agreed that finding them should have been easy, if he had a collar or microchip. >> that would have been all the difference. 90% of the time, an animal come to quickly reunite them. david: he did have a collar, but his owners say he couldn't wear it because of the skin condition. he's now home, in a small grave in their backyard. they and the mspca do agree about one thing, that there cap step should be a lesson to others. ed: a siegel lives thanks to unusual rescue.

happened to be there shot these pictures of a woman who decided to save the siegel. the woman, who didn't reveal her name, jumped in, grabbed the wounded bird and swam back to shore. the gull has been turned over to wildlife specialists in brockton. it will stay there a few weeks until it's strong enough to go back out on its own. heather: a colorful show of support for worcester police. ella stood outside of police headquarters this morning with a basketfull of blue flowers, this little brother. police say they brought a smile to many faces, and that they truly appreciate the act of kindness. ed: put a smile on my face. heather: so did the rain. aj: smiles abound. we have the rainfall and now the
