20 to 25 minutes braintree into boston. and as you travel the pike, 15 minutes, 495 to 128, and then 93 south, still slow out of methuen, construction running late has cleared on 495 southbound right here by route 38. they did have two lanes closed so expect those delays, and then 93 south, slow, down to the lever connector, so far, trains and buses are running on schedule. we are following breaking news overnight. a deadly wrongway crash now under investigation. the eye's doug meehan is live along the mass pike with what we kn >> yes, we, actually, have new information regarding this crash but first thing is first, if you are using the pike, eastbound or westbound, to get into work this morning, all lanes are open but that was hardly the case last night. we have a map set up for you. new information around 11:55, state police responding to the report of a crash involving a wrongway operator on the westbound side in westboro. the wrongway operator, a

mass was traveling eastbound on the westbound side, and he suffered fatal injuries from that crash. several others were hurt. the wrongway vehicle struck two other vehicles head-on. four occupants of those vehicles were transported to area hospitals with injuries. that is the very latest from police, we received an email from them to reiterate if you have plans, all lanes in both directions a newscenter 5. >> thank you, police are putting out an urgent plea for help after a grizzly crime in a quiet community, and what they don't know about this case just as unsettling. sera congi is in princeton with what we know at this hour. sierra? >> investigates are trying to figure out whether this was a random or targeted attack. they are warning everyone in this community to be vigilant

sources tell newscenter 5 that 27-year-old vanessa mar could the was found naked, her hands, feet, and head burned, body was discovered on sunday night deep in the words off of a sparsely populated brook station road. she had left her mother's house a half a mile away to go for a run. people who live here are rattled. many are traveling in pairs. >> we have a horrible set of bags and circumstances right >> police are focused on a specific time frame between 1:00 and 4:00 on sunday afternoon. again they do not know if marcotte was targeted. coming up in our next half-hour a closer look at this young woman's promising life. live in princeton, sera congi, wcvb. >> ok sierra, thank you. this fire is under investigation in south boston after causing a million dollars in damage.

have had the air-conditioners getting a break here recently but that will be changing as all the soupy air is down to the south. you can see the oranges and reds. coincides with the uncomfortable oppressive humidity, and that is going to be sneaking in our direction as we get a southwesterly wind on the back side of the high pressure, that's going to speed on in. we're comfortable with the high pressure right overhead, light winds. we are going to have a sea breeze today but it will be another nice day, and you can across new england. we have a bit of localized patchy fog, and that's about the extent of it. you can see the sunshine is with us all day. we're starting out in the 50s and 60s, but by late morning and noontime already that wind is turning on the shore. temperatures will struggle to hit 80 degrees it, may happen late in the day around boston. low 80s on the cape but you jump inland and look at taunton, 89. 86 in worcester. and lower 90s here up towards nashua, to the merrimack valley,

and red sox are back in town, been away for a while, and first pitch, 7:10, should still be near 80 degrees. so it is going to be mild at fenway tonight, and turning muggier with a southerly wind so the temperatures don't drop much. no more 50s after this morning. you can see all the 60s to around 70 degrees, first thing tomorrow morning, and there will be some more clouds filling in overnight. we're going to be watching a disturbance off to the west as this comes in, in the afternoon and combines with that high humidity. it mayd scattered. we have it at the high impact day for you for the potential of flooding and lightning with the storms. they don't get going until afternoon. and you can see them first off to the west, and shifting eastward here, mid afternoon, and there will be some storms around in the evening, again, hit or miss variety. we could use a widespread rain. it does not look like it's in the cards for tomorrow. the clouds go up on thursday, and jet stream will be sitting to the north right through the upcoming weekend so with the high humidity, we have got the

was being robbed at the time. and you can see what happens in houston, texas. this woman says that the two men walked in and they were demanding money here. that's when she pulled out the gun and started shooting. the men dropped the money bag and they ran. the clerk wasn't sure if the men were hit, and she says quote i just went crazy. a kansas water park is ready to reopen. it will happen tomorrow after the death of this young boy on a water slide. we'r suffered a fatal neck injury on what's being billed as the largest water slide. witnesses say that caleb schwab was riding in the front of the raft. two women were also injured. the slide is going to remain closed even after the park reopens tomorrow. >> your economy headlines, the faa is looking to boost the air traffic control staff. the agency wants to hire 1400 people to participate in an intensive training program at

the number of air traffic controllers hit a 27-year low last year. wal-mart is making a big buy in an effort to compete with amazon. the big box store scooped up jet.com for a whopping $3 billion in cash. that online retailer only launched a year ago, and analysts say the move won't help wal-mart catch amazon but should help them narrow the gap. >> and the ride share company lyft is adding a new feature. the app will let riders add a stop along the way to t the goal here is to encourage more people to carpool. the feature will be tested with select lift users before being rolled out nation-wide for everybody. checking the markets, asian stocks basically flat, right now u.s. stock futures are higher and oil prices were down slightly but there was little other news that moved the markets. studying abroad, or seeing the
