we're also picking up on 128. the last construction zone clearing as we speak. trains and buses are starting on schedule. emily: breaking overnight, a man is due in court today accused of attacking several woman in a chilling crime spree. randy: the eyeopener's -- police say that crime spree included rape and carjacking. suspect antonio damon is behind bars on a slew of charges right now, assault, aggravated rape, strangulation, armed robbery, dn just to name a few. police say it started in downtown worcester at a business on main street. a woman there called police after damon allegedly walked in with a knife grabbed her throat and raped her before taking her car keys and taking off. police say he then carjacked a woman sexually assaulted her before she managed to jump out of the vehicle. police finally cornered damon on denny street running through backyards of this neighborhood

at a business there. damon reportedly breaking the glass on the door to force his way inside. officers struggled with damon as he swore and screamed at them. damon will be arraigned later this morning. and we will keep you posted. emily: a show of support and grief as we learn new details about the death of a woman who just went out for a run. police say they are making progress in this case. the eyeopener's sera congi is in princeton this morning with what sera: police say they've gotten hundreds of tips about this crime which still has this community very much on edge. and they're asking for more. 5 investigates breaking new information in the case. we've learned vanessa marcotte may have been strangled had trauma and burns and that investigators are awaiting the results of a rape kit. all of this comes as princeton residents gather to remember the young woman. hundreds gathered to light

share concerns. collects she was really, really nice, very genuine person, everybody really liked her. she was so smart and such a good person. sera: marcotte's body was found in the woods on sunday. she was visiting from new york where she works at google just out for an afternoon jog near her mother's house. police have set up an anonymous tipline that number is at the bottom of your screen. if marcotte was targeted or if this was a random attack. sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: 5 investigates learning a district court judge is in trouble and off the job this morning. the trial court confirms judge michael creedon is on administrative leave. creedon is the first justice in falmouth district court. the trial court says, allegations against creedon have been reported to the judicial conduct commission which

but they won't say what the allegations are. however, 5 investigates has learned creedon is under investigation for allegedly making an insensitive comment. he's been on leave since june 30. randy: the malden high school community is in shock after a staffer is charged with raping a special needs student. prosecutors say the victim is a 16-year-old boy who suffers from multiple disabilities. they say steven macdonald, in his role as a para professional, would assist the boy in the bathroom, where the alleged >> the defendant would continuously threatened to go to the victim's home and kill his mother. >> the story that is being told by the alleged victim is incredible unbelievable story and it will all come out at trial randy: macdonald is also the school's assistant football coach. student athletes who know him told newscenter 5 off camera they are withholding judgment, that this is not the coach mac they know.

of a national tragedy and crisis." hillary clinton is facing new controversy this morning. newly released emails appear to show how the clinton foundation run by her husband attempted to get access to the state department during her tenure as secretary of state. the emails were obtained and released by a conservative watchdog group. the wall street journal reports they were taken from mrs. clinton's personal server but not handed over to the government as part of her archive. randy: clinton running mate tim kaine is headed to new england this weekend. he'll campaign in manchester new hampshire on saturday at what's being billed as a democratic organizing event. it will be held at st. anselm college. despite recent squabbles with his party's nominee house speaker paul ryan is moving on to november. ryan easily won wisconsin's republican primary. that primary had garnered extra attention after donald trump initially failed to endorse ryan

we start to get in on some showers, and those will shift eastward getting closer to boston for your lunch hour today . this may be a little bit overdone, more hit and miss, but the potential is there for embedded downpours that could lead to localized poor drainage flooding. by midafternoon, a few more thunderstorms may pop up, heading toward the city. the chances of temperatures should be around 80 degrees with falling back into the lower 70's. uncomfortable tonight, tomorrow in the mid-90's with the heat advisory. as we get toward the weekend i will be watching this front to the north on saturday and then start to shift southward.

there have been a number of beach closures this summer because of sharks spotted feeding off shore. right now a kennel owner is facing criminal charges after this family pet is dead. this morning the license for briarwood kennel is hanover has been suspended and could be revoked. tracey siciliano says when she picked her 3-year-old golden doodle ben up after a family vacation he was emaciated and bleeding. she rushed him to the vet but with 24 hours ben was dead. mauled by the kennel owner's golden retriever grizzly, the family just heartbroken. >> he was the world to me, he was like another kid. emily: siciliano says grizzly had bitten ben once before but his owner promised to keep them apart. a hearing on monday will determine grizzly's fate and whether the kennel should be able to reopen. owner david ricardo is facing a criminal charge of animal cruelty he wouldn't make any statements to us, just calling

randy: coming up your economy , headlines this wednesday, today the state gaming commission will talk horse racing including a proposal for the brockton fairgrounds. yesterday, the commission estimated the state will pull in a year once two resort casinos $300 million open in massachusetts. checking the markets, asian stocks were mostly lower overnight thanks to what analysts call a mid-summer lull. right now u.s. stock futures are highft yesterday. investors are waiting for new retail sales data which is due out on friday. some of your favorite summer treats, come with some added health benefits. emily: iced coffee, for example, could have some cancer-fighting qualities. a european study found that women who drank one cup of caffeinated coffee a day reduced their risk of developing skin cancer by about 10%. tart cherries are readily available in the summer, and that's good for your waistline. experts say the cherries activate a molecule that helps

delays on the red line last night. two men are recovering from burns after they were sprayed with hot tar in framingham. the fire chief says that the man was sprayed in the face of the hands and upper body by 400 degree liquid asphalt. the victims were unloading the material at the t on the roads after a string of crashes in work zones. starting this week, troopers will increase patrols and launch a new public awareness campaign. this summer, there have been five serious crashes in work zones including two where people were killed. officials say all five crashes involved alcohol. >> these are people behind the cones, mothers and fathers, children and grandparents, aunt and uncles, and we need to be
