is -- line is. as we track that, it will be getting into portions of the boston area meeting south of boston, southeastern massachusetts, so areas like northern attleboro, taunton -- a lot of rain with these downpours of -- as well as lightning. boston northward, we have around the thunderstorms that came through salem mass, and that is just about ready to exit the coast line. another area to watch, exiting the berkshires, a line of strong storms. a huge area in between where there is not anything happening. i think the main action is through tonight and we will see it wane as we get through sunset. the other part of the story is

over. and his father who was wanted in connection with a shooting is in custody. newscenter 5's david bienick is live in dorchester where the boy was found, david? david: all the while boston police were searching the city for this little boy, he was here at this house on fernboro -- in dorchester. the people who live here said they had no idea he'd been kidnapped. with his uncle's arm around his shoulder nine-year-old kelvin martin's climbed out of an ambulance after having been missing for nearly 12 hours. >> i am just so happy he is found. night when a man was shot on nearby blue hill avenue. kelvin's father, 27-year-old juan ayala powell, was seen leaving the scene with kelvin in an suv. >> i have known kelvin since he was one and a half. david: this woman who said she's an ex-girl friend of ayala powell says. he showed up in the middle of the night, upset, asking her to watch his son for a few hours, but not saying why. >> they did not mention nothing about and amber alert. i am not trying to steal

town of princeton and people who loved vanessa marcotte have been hanging on hoping for some indication of who killed the 27-year-old who went out for a run on sunday and never came home. state police say they've received about 450 calls on their anonymous tip line. they're looking for somewhat specific information, but they want to hear from you no matter how insignificant the tip may seem. evidence so far suggests there was a struggle between marcotte and the man who killed her. investigators are looking for a man who would have had fresh injuries earlier this scratches. and if you were in this area of princeton sunday and saw a car or truck parked or driving along brooks station road between 1 p.m. and police want to know 3 p.m., anything you can remember about it. that tip line is 508-453-7589. the line is anonymous. callers will be instructed to leave a message after that recording with any information

deadly planned parenthood clinic has again been deemed incompetent to stand trial. robert dear faces 179 felony counts, including murder and attempted murder charges. three people were killed at the clinic in colorado last year. a judge today ruled dear incompetent. he's being held at a mental health institution until his next competency hearing in november. ben: former congresswoman gabby giffords continuing her push for what she calls sensible gun laws. giffords and her husband spoke about the impact of gun violence on communities of color. they were joined by anti-gun violence activists and victim families in miami. giffords and her husband plan to travel throughout the country until sensible gun laws are passed. giffords was shot in the head in an assasination attempt in 2011. no one was hurt today. -- know i'm with her today -- no one was hurt today when a pedestrian bridge collapsed in north carolina. the bridge was not in use and was already blocked off to the public when it collapsed. crews on scene were checking the

we have been following the hail signature with the storms as well in northeast connecticut and now into western rhode island. as far as we're concerned, it's now southeastern massachusetts getting the eastern edge of those downpours and storms. bridgewater and rain getting involved in totten, shortly. also middleborough and berkeley. as this with time. here in boston, we did get a downpour to cool deed temperatures down some. it is still brutally humid everywhere. now we have a thunderstorm warning in the berkshires. this is the line in our many that has moved into western massachusetts. we take a look at that and we are seeing a lightning with the storms as well as they moved

this time. rhode island to southeastern mass, another area could follow suit. it will all diminish after sunset. speaking of which, here is boston. notice we have clearing coming in. it knocked the temperature down to 86. it was in the upper 90's a while ago. elsewhere where it has not rain, it is incredible. in all of those places it still feels like over 100 degrees. if you have ever been hit by a thunderstorm and have not been cooled, the excessive heat warning and the heat advisory, that is where you have the feels-like temperature's over 105 and then it is an excessive heat warning. notice tomorrow the middle of the day -- quite a disparity.

on this side, a northeast wind and cooler. on the other side, just like it is today. really, really hot stuff. then sunday, that front retreats to the north and all of us are back into the heat and humidity. boston gets a little reprieve. out of springfield and hartford, you don't. keep an eye on the sky tomorrow. there could be a even though it will not be raining all weekend long, but with this air mass in place, you can expect a few thunderstorms. it looks like the temperatures will ease little bit and some wet weather is possible, especially tuesday night through wednesday. we have seasonable temperatures may be a little above average, but not like this. ben?
