the 27-year-old murdered who was murdered out on the job will be late to rest at our lady of the lake church. right now, 5 investigates has exclusive information about a possible lead. >> five investigates learned that police submitted dna samples for testing on one possible person of interest in the murder of vanessa. she disappeared after leaving her mother's home in princeton her body was found nearby a few hours later. sources tell us the person who is familiar with that area, not identifying the person you kissed no one has been charged with a crime, and this could be a solid the, but with more than 400 tips, the das office is falling every lead. there would not comment on the information, but to the public should be careful and vigilant.

humidity not going away today but temperatures are dropping, considering it was 98 in boston yesterday, type of the hottest day of the year. thursday we were 96, so some of the hottest days of the summer have been over the past couple of days. contrast come today. much cooler in eastern portions of new england. in western new england in hartford and springfield, talking about excessive heat to heat index betwe that is why they are excessive heat warnings. not the case in boston. in the coast line, in the 60's in the north shore in beverly. look at the new hampshire seacoast from fort smith to rochester in the mid-60's. in 70's in worcester county and a lot of mid-70's on the cape right now. high temperatures today, and along the coastline, holding in the 70's and low 80's on cape

in the 90's like the past couple of days. you have to head farther west across western massachusetts, connecticut and parts of rhode island. this cold front is bringing in cooler air and it will bump into that hot and sticky air, so i do think that frontal provide a bit of a focus today for showers and storms that the potential for severe storms will be across new york state and in vermont in the northwest corner of our state th expecting a lot of what weather. if you have backup plans, by noontime, a lot of clouds and mostly cloudy skies. when we get the breaks, that frontal boundary will be in the vicinity, 102 storms may pop-up mid-to-late afternoon but that is all we are talking about. if you spot storms today and the atmosphere loaded with moisture. the stronger storm could get into stronger wind but i think the focus is off to the north

turns into tragedy. a passenger van carrying members an ohio girl's team collided with a semi-truck. a 19-year-old was killed as both vehicles ended up in a ditch. four other passengers and the van's driver are suffering from life-threatening injuries. officials say the semi hit the van when that driver failed to yield at an intersection. antoinette: this morning, we are learning more about what caused three children to fall from a ferris wheel at a fair in tennessee. inspectors have found that the rivets on the gondola carrying the rl come loose. the bottom plate dropped down and got caught on the frame of the ferris wheel, tipping the girls out. a six-year-old remains in critical condition this morning, while two other girls are now out of the hospital. a delicate project now underway in weymouth. crews using jacks to raise a huge span of the fore river bridge. it's more than 78-feet wide and part of the bridge's lift. on monday, crews will start floating it on the water so it

in distress and the child was not breathing so she jumped into action. >> just rotated, she agreed, i breathe, i did compressions and we got a pulse and he is fine. diane: dean used to work as a home health aide and knows how to perform cpr. >> i am so grateful and today, i meant back-and-forth. diane: the child was responsive and transported to a local hospital. over the pond in worchester. the body of a 49-year-old woman was recovered there yesterday by the worcester fire department dive team. neighbors say she went swimming thursday night, and never returned. police believe the drowning is accidental. antoinette: right now, a missing boy is safe, and his father is in police custody. it started with a shooting thursday night on blue hill avenue in dorchester. police say 27-year-old juan ayala-powell left the scene with his 9-year-old son. kelvin martins was eventually found at his ex-girlfriend's

antoinette: right now, mbta transit police are looking for the man who caused disruptions on the blue line as he tried to get a selfie. they say this man walked onto the tracks at the aquarium station just before 8:00 wednesday night, heading into the tunnel. that caused delays on the blue line as officers searched for him. police say his trespassing was a -- police say he was trespassing and it was a dangerous, potential he deadly, stunt that put officers in harm's way. if you rni -- if you recognize them, you should contact transit police. doug: sweetgreen on boylston street is back in business after being shut down wednesday for health code violations. in a statement, the owners said they have taken steps to make sure it does not happen again. there is now designated food safety expert on staff in back bay and they plan to assign a similar expert to all of their locations. antoinette: a deal is in the works for the building that includes boston's iconic citgo sign. b.u. owns 660 beacon street and has reached a deal with local developer related beal.

and not just in boston. beverly down to 67, and we can seat rochester at 65. inland, low-to-mid 70's and very humid, even though it will be closer today and sticky. humidity not going away. 75 right now and 70's on the cape. we are watching a backdoor cold front and it will penetrate back to 495 and cool temperatures and you get farther west, and it is still in the 90's. it is a function of how close you are to the water and how cool you are going to be as we watched this cold front come in. showers across the northern new england. i think we will see a lot of clouds today, but not too much bad weather few have backdoor plans. heat and humidity building on

boundary, and that is where we have a marginal risk persevered storms popping up this afternoon and evening. it is across new york, vermont, northwestern massachusetts and i think we will be removed from that today and a lot is due to cloud cover. hotter tomorrow and humid, but mainly dry on the cape. if you are heading up north to the mountains and lake region the next couple of days, there will be off and on a lot of clouds this morning, a lot of cloud cover at noon time. mostly cloudy skies, a few breaks of sunshine this afternoon and they made deal a couple of storms, said there would be few and far between, but if we get them, there is the potential for heavy rain that could lead to flooding and some storms may have stronger damaging wind. a lot of that will be focused in the northwest this evening and the storms may fall apart before the make it in.
