these storms. severe weather warning for the next half-hour into rhode island and connecticut. until 11:30. it is because we have this squall line that is coming through the area. off to the north, quite a bit of lightning, thunder, heavy rain in acton. first things first, let's talk about this little line. you can painted line and it is curling out this way. about 40 miles per hour. milford, but talk it -- no ford, pawtucket, and providence in the next half hour. there may be wind damage as well. leominster, gardner, we have a flash flood warning that goes into effect, that isn't in fact

was 56 years old. before the firefighters and police officers arrived on scene, neighbors were doing everything they could to try to save the man. >> you see them drag someone out of the pool and as soon as we saw that, i'm a former call firefighter with cpr certification. we both ran over there and jumped right in on cpr and did the best that we could. todd: as neighbors perform cpr, bridgewater police and fire rush to summit drive off pleasant street. axis at lakeshore. bridgewater fire reports getting a 911 call at 5:49 p.m. saturday after a man is pulled unconscious from the pool. saturday night, a sign hangs on the door to the pool area, warning residents that the pool is closed due to the medical emergency. the victim had been underwater in the deep end for about five minutes, his girlfriend tells neighbors. >> his girlfriend and her friend were quite upset and stuff, and i tried to comfort them as much

todd: the victim was rushed to good samaritan hospital in brockton, and that is where he was pronounced dead. the district attorney's office is now investigating the circumstances. wcvb newscenter 5. diane: donald trump, the republican presidential nominee held a rally tonight in , fairfield, connecticut. nearly 5000 people packed into a gym at sacred heart university. opponent in the race, hillary clinton but she wasn't the only , target tonight. he blasted the media and lashed out on connecticut's governor after general electric moved its headquarters to boston. >> connecticut ranks number 50th among the u.s. states for its fiscal health. in other words, it is the least fiscally healthy state in the union and you just lost general

tonight we're learning more , about what went wrong. our david bienick reports from the waterfront. david: two of the lower deck windows of boston harbor cruises' regency are smashed. witnesses say the regency was pulling back into dock this morning loaded with passengers, and going too fast. >> it looked like the captain had no control. david: t-shirt vendor rick natale says the regency hit the codzilla speed boat then wedged in between a whale watching boat and a water taxi. >> did people screened before the impact? >> screaming. they saw there was a problem. david: witnesses say thick black smoked poured from the back of the regency as the captain apparently tried to reverse engines and back out. >> once he backed out, he tried moving back in again. this was about three times. david: passengers on board the regency appeared stunned while waiting for firefighters to rescue them. >> we got everyone off the boat and there were no injuries. david: investigators spoke with the crew.

over a , homeowner on griggs road called police to report a break-in at the same address where the officer first spotted the men. police are still looking for the second man. we are learning more about funeral plans for vanessa marcotte, the jogger killed this week in princeton. there will be a mass at our lady of the lake church in leominster on tuesday. she will then be laid to rest in woodside cemetery in westminster. state police say they have now received nearly 600 tips about this crime, but are asking for more. there is a tip line set up, the number is at the bottom of your screen. five investigates has now learned authorities have submitted dna samples for testing from at t reid: a new warning about hungry bears in new hampshire. fish and game officials say the drought and lack of rain is leading to a spike in incidents. limited food options are forcing bears to take more risks, and they expect the bears to continue roaming over the next couple of months. to prevent an unwanted bear visit in your neighborhood, the state says to stop word feeding and make sure you secure all of your trash. diane: deadly flooding in the

pictures. diane: police say two witnesses grabbed sexton by her legs and kept her from being pulled into the water and managed to free her hand from the gator's jaws. reid: caught on camera. we're getting a look at a dramatic scene that played out on boston-area highway. video posted online shows a car rolled over late yesterday along route 128 in weston. a woman in her 50's was trapped behind the wheel. more than a dozen other drivers pulled over and tried to help her by talking to her, keeping her calm and pulling on the door. >> i run to danger. it is not the smartest thing at situation as soon as possible. reid: graham wilson shot that video. paramedics and firefighters later arrived and pulled the woman to safety. she is expected to survive. take a look at this sweet save in billerica the animal rescue league of boston and billerica animal control officers, rescuing this fawn that got stuck in a fenced-in yard. they were able to safely reunite it with its mother. diane: thousands flocking to

boston comic-con. superheroes and supervillians just about everywhere you look . todd kazakiewich got a first-hand look. todd: in many other settings, this gesture would be deemed a threat, but at boston comiccon, it's a peaceful greeting and salutation. the annual gathering of comic artists and sci-fi fans is back at the world trade center in the seaport. here, these are not costumes. dressing up is known as stopping to take everyone's pictures every five seconds. it is the best thing in the world. todd: a big draw saturday, the original captain kirk, william shatner, who put the comic in comic-con. talking football, specifically the rams moving back to l.a. >> it's like you're divorced and suddenly your ex-wife is back in the house.

and what will stand out is all this red in here. this is across central massachusetts and into the boston area. still raining heavily up in this portion of southern new hampshire as well. this is the most eminent area that we need to focus on, this severe thunderstorm warning that is in effect for another little while. you can see the echo, this cluster of bows out. it has a bit of curl to it. that indicates where we could have wind damage. this is not looking quite as impressive as it did last hour. however, tons of lightning, lots of heavy rainfall, and also the threat for gusty winds. let's track this for you. this is a big line. we will take it down here and move it out. it is moving at about 40 miles per hour.

broxton area, middleborough, and plymouth over the next hour or so. i would expect right along the front edge of this, moving into franklin right now. gusty winds and a lot of lightning. each one of these little lightning bolts indicating where we have detected a cloud to ground lightning strike. you can clearly see a huge cluster over northeastern connecticut and a big cluster moving right into the 495 belt as well. we have ee in effect until the bottom of the hour, 11:30, inside of this yellow-shaded area. worcester, you are putting much out of the woods at this point. moving and 495, bellingham, watch out for the powerful thunderstorms to move in. also heavy rainfall. we have flash flood warnings posted in leominster, fitchburg, south gardiner as well.

there was a confrontation with police, many in right here. reid: one of the victims of the orlando shooting, and framingham native, sharing a big moment in his recovery. angel colon can now takes steps on his own. he shared this video on facebook with the caption took my first steps all by myself, so happy. colon was hurt in the massacre on june 12 at the pulse nightclub. 49 people were killed and more than 50 others were hurt. colon was shot in the leg. bring home the bacon after some pigs managed to escape from their home. several pigs got loose from their enclosure on boston road. police rounded them up, and cared for the animals until the owners arrived to retrieve them. it's not clear if these little piggies were going to market. reid: that little piggy was taking a nap in the middle of the day. diane: what else can you do? reid: coming up, we will talk
