5:49 pm
let's go over to the big board and tell you what we are talking about here. we hit 90 in boston even though a little less humid. we still made it to 90 degrees. a much above 90-degree day. that's four, but remember there is like three that were 89 and many other areas have had more than four days in august. then we had like 12 in july. we are starting to add them up. there is no two ways about it. we have boston and worcester below average and it may seem ironic or being like a con terror yen to say we have had severe storms the last few days that dumped enough rains to cause brief flooding but yet we have the deficits. they are not widespread and they are not hitting all of the humidity. you flood one town briefly and then the next town doesn't get a drop of rain. here is where it is most severe in terms of the drought
5:50 pm
extreme drought conditions includes burlington and you know that it is dry ready a the region. dry around the region. 89 in boston and 90 in hartford, connecticut. however, it has been a little less humid across much of southern new england as you can see here. the south coast is uncomfortable, but tonight is not going to be brutally uncomfortable. it will be more humid in the south coast and cape. that will chang slightly to the south and it will start to come back at us tomorrow. as it does so it is going to be attached to a disturbance out west. more cloudiness tomorrow and the risk of a few high storms. the high temperatures will not be as high. later tomorrow is a greater chance for storms and if we get sunshine tomorrow afternoon that cooks the air, that would increase the chance
5:51 pm
this is the area i'm talking about. it is actually going to be a couple of phases here. as the warmer and more humid air approaches there could be a few spot storms and one or two of those could be strong and scattered around the region in the morning. then it will be in the afternoon later on to the night i believe that we will see the bigger threat as the next wave of moisture makes its approach. that's late into tomorrow night. let's give uh closer look at that in a moment. a front will come through on wednesday and that will make it less especially into tomorrow night if you get one of these storms a high chance of getting heavy rain and vivid lightning and medium chance of strong or damaging winds. even a small chance there could be a small spin up of a tornado. it is a low chance, but it is a chance. and i want to give you a better idea of the time line as we call tomorrow an impact weather day mainly for the threat later on into tomorrow night for a few strong storms that could be moving through the region.
5:52 pm
