middle of the afternoon. >> it's so warm out there. >> very humid out there. in time of year, we are 80 degrees. >> right. >> look where we are this morning. >> 80 degrees. >> so it is a warm, sticky start, as you get from worcester north and west, temperatures mostly in the 70s, but closer to 80 down to the cape this morning. so it is a warm and muggy start for sure. the skies are in the process of clearing out, and it is breezy out there. the southwesterly wind brought in all the humidity. the dewpoints are running in the 70s, and we're hanging onto that across the easternmost massachusetts, as you get onto worcester confidante, the humidity is dropping. it drops more the farther west that you get. we're tracking a front, this is the leading edge of that. as the wind shift, it will turn more comfortable. a lot of cloud cover now.

mid 80s this afternoon. the busy westerly wind bringing in less humid air but cooler temperatures so we'll average in the mid 80s from lowell to burlington to framingham. through worcester, upper 70s to lower 80s. it turns less humid for you, and warmer spots today from brockton to bridgewater and taunton where we have upper 80s, and the westerly wind easing the humidity but allowing the temperatures on the cape today to climb up into the mid 80s so a warm day for we want to get you out to the roads and see how we're doing. good morning. >> good morning cindy, and thank you. a live look outside to start things off at the pike. this is a check at brighten heading to the bottom of the screen, and so far traffic is nice and light here. let's get to the maps and traveling into boston, watching a ramp accident on the westbound side, the ramp partially blocked for that crash until they clear it, and south of there, just normal delays, 95 in canton and also watching volume on the expressway now.

him to look like he was taking a turn, to run this back, i don't know. i don't know how -- >> the little girl was scraped up. her dad suffered the most serious injuries because that relative says that he took most of the impact of the car. police say that all are expected to survive. that driver did stay on the scene. no word of any charges this morning. live in roxbury, doug meehan, newscenter 5. >> a man a dead after crashing his truck into a tree in the 44-year-old man drove off the road in stoney brook reservation last night. the passenger suffered serious injuries and are investigating how this happened. right now a quincy man is hurt after being hit by a car at 9:30 last night on washington street. the 21-year-old ran out in front of the car. he was taken to the hospital. it's unclear how seriously he is hurt.

police officers that they have been selected to participate in a body camera pilot program. so far, no one has volunteered as the police exphirks and mayor have asked. commissioner bill evans tells us a consultant selected officers from five sections of all races of the city. they say participation can only be voluntary. right now, a police officer is under arrest charged with an antoinette antonio is live at everett police headquarters with what we have learned. >> right now, that everett police officer is being held without bail. he's accused of attacking his pregnant wife. the prosecutors say that it happened on sunday at the couple's home in salisbury. the officer michael morrey's wife, who was seven months pregnant says he kicked her in the stomach in addition to hitting her in the face. morrey, a three-year veteran is

they include assault and battery, and assault and battery on a pregnant victim, as well as strangulation. the officer also is on administrative leave without pay. live in everett, antoinette antonio, newscenter 5. >> a former lowell police officer is expected in court today for his final hearing before trial. eric wayne is charged with motor vehicle homicide and manslaughter stemming from a deadly 2014 crash. he's accused of driving crashed into a car killing the driver, bryant paula. wayne's trial is expected to start next month. >> commitment 2016, a shakeup on the campaign trail for donald trump and erika is following the new information. >> we're talking about some big changes at the top for donald trump including who will be running his campaign. jump just revealing he's bringing in steve bannon.

tornado, we did not have any of those yesterday but we had a lot of rotating storms, so kind of busy there for a while, but we did get a lot of downpours, as well. got this picture in this morning from middleton. this is alex, loving the rain, a lot of you were just loving the rain, i am sure, yesterday because we got some beneficial rainfall, especially north and west of boston, a lot of it outside of 495, anywhere from a half an inch from an inch of rain. the storms did dry up as they shifted but beneficial rain in the northwestern suburbs that have bn the summer. skies in the process of clearing out now. today will be a storm-free day but look at that temperature. 80 degrees, feeling so tropical with the dewpoints running in the lower 70s. and busy southwesterly wind has brought up all of the humidity, but look what happens as you head to the west. notice how it turns more comfortable, and that less humid air is working in, and on the other side of a frontal boundary so once it crosses the area the wind shift and is that works in, so it turns more comfortable as

the satellite radar and clouds are breaking up and the shower threat has diminished at this point, so it's going to be a quiet day. starting out 74 in worcester. you saw 80 in boston but on the north shore, merrimack valley, 80 degrees, and on the cape, it's close to 80. the winds are going to turn to the west and that westerly wind is going to push the warmth out to you on cape cod so look at this, by noontime and into the afternoon, high temperatures in the mid 80s. a blend of sun and clouds, and coolest readings today out through the worcester hills,up expecting a big jumpup in the temperatures today. so a good amount of sunshine throughout the afternoon if you have plans this evening, and things are quiet. overnight, the skies are clear to partly cloudy with lowering humidity, the temperatures are going to drop tonight. you can turn off the air-conditioning and open up the windows. 50s and 60s for overnight lows, and certainly more comfortable, and a reinforcing shot of drier air is going to work in behind this front tomorrow, as that drops. it could spark one or a two isolated showers.

headlines, uni vision is snapping up gawker media. the gossip and news site was put up for auction after losing a legal fight in the invasion of privacy case involving hulk hogan. the uni vision will pay 135 million for gawkers as it looks to expand from the spanish language base. and asian markets mostly higher overnight after the declines yesterday, on wall street, and right now stock futures here are mixed. on a local note, stocks slide after predicting the sales would be weak in the third quarter. it seems like every day we're telling you about a hacker attack. >> but there are some threats that you might not consider like frequent flyer miles. i have never heard of this. this can happen and happens to big airlines like american and united. so your best defense is to change your passwords frequently. another target, company chat systems, there is apps for inter-office correspondence can be convenient but set up extra

investigation in west roxbury, a 44-year-old man was killed when the truck he was driving crashed into a tree in the stoney brook reservation. his passenger suffered serious injuries. >> and a brockton teenager is recovering. the 17-year-old was targeted on monday night while sitting with friends on a bench at the chatham west apartment. the teen was shot in the foot and then near the left eye. police say that he's giving conflicting statements about what happened. >> a scare in new of a hot car, and they thought it was a baby. police shattered the car's window before realizing that life-like doll was not real. they would not have done anything differently. they do say that they will cover the damage to the car. >> and problems for the pilgrim nuclear power plant. high water temperatures in cape cod bay are forcing work flow to slow down at the plant. that water is used to cool the systems at the plymouth plant. this is the third summer in the

working in, we're seeing that already out in the berkshires with more comfortable humidity levels, still oppressive on the north shore and boston down into southeastern massachusetts, as well. the winds bring in the humidity but they are out of the west and northwest so that's the front that will progress eastward so 70s to around 80 degrees out there right now, and temperatures don't climb a whole lot. we'll be still right in the lower 80s at lunchtime and then low to mid 80s this afternoon. a blend of sun and clouds, that busy westerly wind the mid 80s all the way out to the beaches and cape cod. you can open up the windows, 50s in the coolest suburbs, otherwise in the 60s with the less humid air, a disturbance going by to the south, bring in a few clouds tomorrow, and otherwise, this front in the afternoon, may pop a spot shower, and that's about it. and otherwise we're dry and looking great here heading into the weekend, you are going to the cape, and look at that sunshine, lower 80s, dry weather, and up in the lakes region, and temperatures a
