three people hit by a car in downtown crossing. two dragged and trapped until witness were able to lift the car off of them. they were all rushed to the hospital with non life threatening injuries. police located the driver in a nearby restaurant, there is no word on charges. heather: police in braintree say a man tried to grab a one-year-old boy from a store. you can see suspect stephen o'brien pick up the child on surveillance video from the south shore india market. the toddlers father follows, confronts the suspect and takes anchor: how the ryan lochte story gets more interesting. he and other swimmers lied about being robbed at gunpoint. investigators say surveillance video shows the 4 athletes vandalizing the gas station and getting into a fight with gas station security guards, who did point guns at them. heather: new concerns about the

technology, its essentially like a fitbit but instead on monitoring your steps it's tracking drug use. it's the latest technology in the fight against the opioid crisis. >> someone who's using cocaine has more of a jittery disorganized movement in their arms body movements associated with drug use, downloaded to a smartphone. the hope is to recognize patterns of drug use that lead to an addiction, and in many cases to an overdose. one of the things we want to figure out is how we can predict when someone who's in treatment drug and whether or not we can create an intervention that really in real-time prevents them from using . reporter: dr. peter chai is on the team researching the monitors. so far 20 people are taking part in the study. also in the works at umass medical school, these pills that detect how much and how often patients takes pain medication after they leave hospital. each capsule, has not only the

security video released today shows ryan lochte, feigan and 2 teammates at the gas station where the incident took place. the local police chief says the 4 were drunk and became rowdy at one point breaking down a locked bathroom door and vandalizing the inside of the bathroom. despite the indictments, one local sports law expert says the whole incident could be quickly resolved, the swimmers reportedly paid $50 for bathroom repairs before leaving the gas station. >> they should apologize which is probably what they want the most. >> they paid the fee dollars for bathroom repairs before leaving the gas station. the police chief says the incident has harmed the image of rio de janeiro. bened: right now, we're learning more about the attempted kidnapping of a baby, grabbed by a stranger right in front of his parents.
