victim he had a knife. this happened in the area of greenwich park and claremont street around 1:00 a.m. monday. that is where the woman was approached by the man on the bike. stating he had a knife, police said he forced her to walk to the carter playground where she was sexually assaulted. he ran towards davenport street. the victim described the man as hispanic, late 20's to mid 30's, with brown cropped hair. police right hand. boston police are urging anyone with information to come forward. live this morning and the south end, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: sera, thank you. other stories we're following right now, prosecutors are calling for severe restrictions for this state trooper, accused of raping and assaulting his former girlfriend. robert sundberg allegedly boasted about his gps monitoring anklet and threatened to "bury the victim," who is also a state

sundberg was released on bail after facing 14 counts of abuse. right now, we are learning new details about a deadly accident involving a party bus in east boston. the eye's doug meehan is there this morning with what the victim's family is now saying. doug: hey, randy. good morning. it is still unclear exactly what caused those two women falling out of the party bus. but one of the victim's families is now questioning the company's story. of 27-year-old tracy paniagua. she fell into the window early sunday morning, they say, and it popped open, dumping her and another woman onto the street. but the bus company says the women were likely trying to open it because it requires significant pressure. the company also says one of the passengers repeatedly mentioned opening the window for air. paniagua's family just wants answers. >> her mom wants people to

a second car may have run over the women. they stress the investigation is still ongoing and in the early stages. we are live in east boston, doug meehan, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: all right, doug, thank you. right now, there is still cleaning up to do in concord after a tornado ripped through a section of that community. and this morning, we are getting a closer look at the damage. when the storm struck early yesterday morning, mark vella ran upstairs to check on his guests at the hawthorne inn. the building was hit so hard that firefighters with atv's and chainsaws had to cut through debris to free some of them. >> everyone was ok. lights were out, alarms were going off -- it was scary. we had, like, 15 trees down. not too much damage to the property, luckily. the property has been there for 150 years. it will be standing another 150 years hopefully.

no one was hurt. governor baker is pledging to help people in concord clean up. he toured the damage yesterday. another area hit hard, marlborough. large trees fell on power lines, ripping them down. at the height of the storm, more than 3000 people lost electricity. randy: today, president obama is heading to louisiana to tour the areas hardest hit by historic flooding there. parts of baton rouge saw as much as two feet of rain in just two days, swamping homes and flooding neighborhoods. 13 people died in the flooding. about 60,000 buildings are damaged. so far, more than 100,000 people have applied for federal assistance. emily: commitment 2016 -- hillary clinton was on late night tv talking about her health. the eyeopener's erika tarantal is tracking new developments from the campaign trail. erika? erika: emily, the democrat has one word for claims that she's physically unfit for the white house. wacky. ms. clinton: i don't know why

then once again southbound as you pass by route 2 as well as by route 3. both of those projects should be wrapping up in the next 10, 15 minutes. so far, no problems around town. we expect the trains and buses to be on schedule. we are looking ahead to some changes on the roads. beginning october 28, tolls along the mass pike will be replaced with these electronic tolls. the sensors charge your ez pass or take a photo of your license plate and mail you a bill. prices will vary, but most will be lower than the current ticket system. interstate-84 to boston will now cost massachusetts ez pass users $3.60. out-of-state users $4.85. 495 to boston will be $2.65 and $3.75 respectively. and 95/128 to the city drops to $1.70 for in-state users and $2.65 for out-of-state. but those prices will jump for pay-by-plate drivers across the board. emily? emily: olessa, thank you. right now, a state employee is free on bail. he is accused of planting a hidden camera in a women's

pen to spy on women at houghton's pond where he worked. a lifeguard noticed a blinking green light and found the pen hidden in a cleaning supply bucket. rick barrett installs surveillance cameras at homes and businesses and says the pen cameras are widely available and hard to notice. rick: you would not be able to see it. you can hide it anywhere. all you need is a pinhole so was recorded on the camera setting it up. he is suspended without pay. randy: these two women are facing charges, accused of robbing a nun-in-training in quincy. but this morning, the mother superior of that victim is calling for leniency. police say vanessa and crystal young stole a satchel from the victim on sunday near the convent. it only had rosary beads inside. mother olga says the women put away the knife when they saw the beads and took off with the satchel. she believes that is a sign from

olga: i do think that is a sign, please, god, maybe they did have some seed of faith, and maybe that did touch something in them because they put the knife away. randy: the women are also accused of a house break-in after police say they found them with several stolen cell phones. the rosary beads have not been recovered. emily: u.s. olympic swimmer ryan lochte loses out big time on his sponsorships after his made-up story about a robbery in r four corporate sponsors are cutting ties with lochte. speedo, ralph lauren, gentle hair removal, and mattress maker airweave all dropped the olympic gold medalist. lochte admits he embellished the robbery story earlier this month. your economy headlines this tuesday -- asian shares were mixed overnight after little information was released about a highly-anticipated speech by the u.s. fed chief this week. right now, stock futures here

a major bank must pay up over a student loan scandal. federal investigators say wells fargo charged illegal late fees to some of its student loan borrowers who paid on the last day of their so-called grace period. wells fargo must now pay $3.6 million to the consumer financial protection agency and refund customers $410,000. randy: trending stories -- virginia's governor restores voting rights to 13,000 felons. governor terry mcauliffe made , nearly a month after the attempt was blocked by the state's supreme court. the court ruled the governor could only reinstate voting rights on a case-by-case basis, not en masse. the governor says his office processed each felon's paperwork individually. republicans accuse him of trying to boost the democrat vote. emily: several students in california were forced to miss the first day of classes over a new mandatory vaccine law.

randy: it's 4:55. time for your early news to go. emily: police are searching for the man they say violently assaulted a woman in boston's south end. the woman says she was walking near greenwich park and claremont street early monday the man, who was riding a bmx-style bicycle, allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and forced her into a playground where he sexually assaulted her. randy: a lowell woman is dead after she was struck by a pickup truck in a school parking lot. it happened just before 11:30 yesterday morning at the murkland school. police say a driver was pulling

normandin. the driver did stay at the scene. emily: a toddler found unresponsive in a lowell pool is improving, but a three-year-old boy, also pulled out of the water saturday night, remains in critical condition. it happened at a home on freda lane. the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear. randy: police now say some of the animals found dead on a westport farm died of starvation. more than 1000 animals were taken from the site earlier this month, and many of them dead, injured, or mistreated. investigators are pouring over evidence found at the farm, including 17,000 photos. no one has been charged. emily: the california judge under fire for the stanford university rape case has recused himself in another key sex assault trial. judge aaron persky was criticized for handing down a light sentence to convicted rapist brock turner. he was scheduled to rule on reducing a child porn conviction in another case, but persky filed a statement with the court, saying some people may doubt that he can be impartial.
