victim he had a knife. this happened in the area of greenwich park and claremont street around 1:00 a.m. monday. that is where the woman was approached by the man on the bike. stating he had a knife, police said he forced her to walk to the carter playground where she was sexually assaulted. he ran towards davenport street. the victim described the man as hispanic, late 20's to mid 30's, with brown cropped hair. police right hand. boston police are urging anyone with information to come forward. live this morning and the south end, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. randy: sera, thank you. other stories we're following right now, prosecutors are calling for severe restrictions for this state trooper, accused of raping and assaulting his former girlfriend. robert sundberg allegedly boasted about his gps monitoring anklet and threatened to "bury the victim," who is also a state

sundberg was released on bail after facing 14 counts of abuse. right now, we are learning new details about a deadly accident involving a party bus in east boston. the eye's doug meehan is there this morning with what the victim's family is now saying. doug: hey, randy. good morning. it is still unclear exactly what caused those two women falling out of the party bus. but one of the victim's families is now questioning the company's story. of 27-year-old tracy paniagua. she fell into the window early sunday morning, they say, and it popped open, dumping her and another woman onto the street. but the bus company says the women were likely trying to open it because it requires significant pressure. the company also says one of the passengers repeatedly mentioned opening the window for air. paniagua's family just wants answers. >> her mom wants people to

a second car may have run over the women. they stress the investigation is still ongoing and in the early stages. we are live in east boston, doug meehan, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: all right, doug, thank you. right now, there is still cleaning up to do in concord after a tornado ripped through a section of that community. and this morning, we are getting a closer look at the damage. when the storm struck early yesterday morning, mark vella ran upstairs to check on his guests at the hawthorne inn. the building was hit so hard that firefighters with atv's and chainsaws had to cut through debris to free some of them. >> everyone was ok. lights were out, alarms were going off -- it was scary. we had, like, 15 trees down. not too much damage to the property, luckily. the property has been there for 150 years. it will be standing another 150 years hopefully.

a major bank must pay up over a student loan scandal. federal investigators say wells fargo charged illegal late fees to some of its student loan borrowers who paid on the last day of their so-called grace period. wells fargo must now pay $3.6 million to the consumer financial protection agency and refund customers $410,000. randy: trending stories -- virginia's governor restores voting rights to 13,000 felons. governor terry mcauliffe made , nearly a month after the attempt was blocked by the state's supreme court. the court ruled the governor could only reinstate voting rights on a case-by-case basis, not en masse. the governor says his office processed each felon's paperwork individually. republicans accuse him of trying to boost the democrat vote. emily: several students in california were forced to miss the first day of classes over a new mandatory vaccine law.

randy: it's 4:55. time for your early news to go. emily: police are searching for the man they say violently assaulted a woman in boston's south end. the woman says she was walking near greenwich park and claremont street early monday the man, who was riding a bmx-style bicycle, allegedly threatened the victim with a knife and forced her into a playground where he sexually assaulted her. randy: a lowell woman is dead after she was struck by a pickup truck in a school parking lot. it happened just before 11:30 yesterday morning at the murkland school. police say a driver was pulling

normandin. the driver did stay at the scene. emily: a toddler found unresponsive in a lowell pool is improving, but a three-year-old boy, also pulled out of the water saturday night, remains in critical condition. it happened at a home on freda lane. the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear. randy: police now say some of the animals found dead on a westport farm died of starvation. more than 1000 animals were taken from the site earlier this month, and many of them dead, injured, or mistreated. investigators are pouring over evidence found at the farm, including 17,000 photos. no one has been charged. emily: the california judge under fire for the stanford university rape case has recused himself in another key sex assault trial. judge aaron persky was criticized for handing down a light sentence to convicted rapist brock turner. he was scheduled to rule on reducing a child porn conviction in another case, but persky filed a statement with the court, saying some people may doubt that he can be impartial.
