trooper pleaded guilty to three counts of simple assault but he will not be seen any jail time. inside the courtroom he apologizes. his attorney says the victim is not happy with this plea agreement. there are two sets of rules for police. >> if they were regular citizens who committed this act they would have gone to jail. reporter: massachusetts trooper flynn faces similar assault

it's part of his plea agreement. he will give up any future career and undergo anger management and pay restitution to the victim. the state of new hampshire attorney general says this agreement is severe punishment because the former trooper will no longer be able to pursue his career. anchor: a boston teenager is in the hospital right now. quite she was anchor: the family says she thought she heard her friends fighting. when she left her home, she realized the people were not her friends and that is when the gunshots began. police arrived almost immediately but the 18-year-old had been shot and the shooter was already gone.

the surveillance video says police tracked a white suspect's car with four males inside. they were arraigned today. they were part of the gang. friends are leaving cancels -- candles. a 16-year-old with 21-year-old lewis class case. both are being held without bail. the motive is unclear. >> he was sweet. anchor: a white car pulled up to the corner. they punched the victim several times and then stabbed him.

no one has been charged with murder. anchor: the search is over for this woman wanted for questioning in an east boston murder. they asked for the public's help identify her. she is being interviewed by detectives. jose hernandez was charged in the murder. her body was construction crews. she was face down, she suffered from traumatic injuries. >> also breaking, two catholic nuns found dead in jackson, mississippi. the bodies discovered in the home where the women lived. police say this does appear to be a homicide. it is not clear if their religion had anything to do with the killings. police say both nuns were nurse practitioners.

anchor: the residents of surrounding buildings were evacuated as firefighters battled the flames. a woman and two dogs safe tonight after being rescued from this fire in portsmouth. flames broke out in the home overnight. crews pulled the woman to safety. she was hospitalized with smoke inhalation. the dogs were not hurt but a garage was destroyed in the fire. maria: police are still searching for the vandals behind this explosion in salem. the target, a newspaper box for a gay-friendly publication. it's being investigated as a a group of 7 people was captured on surveillance leaving the explosive in the box for the rainbow times. the editor says it's not the first time the boxes have been targeted since going up three months ago. trump rescues continuing a day r italy was hit with a powerful earthquake. at least 250 people killed in

signs of a break-in. the nuns worked as nurses to help the poor in rural mississippi. also breaking a boy has been rushed to the hospital after being pulled from a pool in chelmsford. good evening. i'm jc monahan. ben: i'm ben simmoneau. first responders were called to a home on gorham street just after 2:30. the boy was pulled from the pool by his mother and other adults after someone noticed he went under. police say the child was semi-conscious and breat right now the search is on for the gunman who shot a young woman in dorchester overnight. jc: she wasn't the target she just got caught in the cross-fire. newscenter 5's juli mcdonald is live in dorchester with her family's reaction. reporter: her family says she was hoping to help but she was the one who needed help within minutes.
