signs of a break-in. the nuns worked as nurses to help the poor in rural mississippi. also breaking a boy has been rushed to the hospital after being pulled from a pool in chelmsford. good evening. i'm jc monahan. ben: i'm ben simmoneau. first responders were called to a home on gorham street just after 2:30. the boy was pulled from the pool by his mother and other adults after someone noticed he went under. police say the child was semi-conscious and breat right now the search is on for the gunman who shot a young woman in dorchester overnight. jc: she wasn't the target she just got caught in the cross-fire. newscenter 5's juli mcdonald is live in dorchester with her family's reaction. reporter: her family says she was hoping to help but she was the one who needed help within minutes.

camera but the increasing violence impacts her and her young children every day. >> they never come out here and play. it is sad. i can't have them get to know their neighbors. i am scared. reporter: as police investigated they also learned a neighbor's dog had been shot. the animal was rushed to medical center and is expected to be ok. ben: a guilty plea from troopers caught in this video. the new hampshire state trooper charged in this case learned today he won't face jail time. newscenter 5's shaun chaiyabhat is live in nashua where the trooper was in court. reporter: that former new hampshire state triple -- trooper will not see any jail time.

the man he punched. andrew monaco ran from court a free man. inside he pleaded guilty to three counts of simple assault for this beating caught on camera. >> i cannot explain why i have these actions. reporter: attorneys reported to his remorse. the victim led police high-speed chase through two states before giving up and getting on the ground. monaco and a mass trooper stepped in and hurled punches. monaco apologized twice a. your officer. he apologize to everyone but the victim. >> i apologize to the victims and the law enforcement. most importantly i apologize to the citizens of new hampshire for my conduct.

massachusetts signed into law provisions that will help level the playing field by imposing regulations on these services. it establishes requirements for that ground checks and insurance are smart and endorsed by the new services. the law clears the way for uber and lyft to make pickups from logan. included in the legislation is a while the amount has thought it is a troubling fee. it is money that will be coming out of users pockets. that is an expense and operating practice that the taxi industry should have adopted years ago.

by his mother and other adults after someone noticed he went under. police say the child was semi-conscious and breathing on his own when rescuers arrived. two people are under arrest in the killing of this teenager in new bedford. today the people charged with stabbing him were in court. newscenter 5's rhondella richardson is live outside the courthouse now. reporter: police say this was a triple stabbing. a 16-year-old and 22-year-old had non-life-threatening injuries. stabbed to death last night just a block from new bedford home. >> he was a quiet kid. once you got to know him he opened up and made you laugh a lot. reporter: distraught friends clinging to the corner where he was killed. a suspect rolled up and stormed out. one as young as 14 years old jumped out.
