a funeral mass is being held in mississippi for sister paula merrill. the stoneham native was murdered, along with another niun, in their home last week. the man accused in her death will be arraigned later today. emily: the duck boat operator who sheared the roof off his vehicle last night on storrow drive has been issued a warning by boston police. the driver says he was forced onto the road after a detour. no passengers were injured. erika: and we are live from district court. >> the driver accused of exposing himself and fondling himself in front of women from his vehicle. paul griffin is walking into the courthouse earlier today. he did not show his face in the courtroom during arraignment. both incidents were in front of the same woman. the latest one yesterday, when

drunk driving crash that killed this 18-year-old is expected in court today. police arrested 19-year-old joseph knapp after saturday morning's crash on hollis road in lunenburg. the driver's friend, 18-year-old austin a.j. robbins, was killed. another teen in the car was hurt. right now, we are expecting new details in an alarming attack on the north shore. newscenter 5's doug meehan is live in gloucester where the suspect will face a judge. doug: there seems to be the suspect so the court is , waiting on an interpreter before he can be arraigned. he is 22-year-old angel castro of gloucester, and is charged with assault with the intent to rape, as well as assault and battery on a disabled person. essex county sheriff's deputies bringing castro to the courthouse earlier this morning. this after he was arrested in rockport following the release of this surveillance video. this all began near last wednesday near the rockland commuter rail stop when police say castro approached a woman

losses for business and homeowners. it started with flames tearing through a building on main street. maria colon was insider her salon on the first floor a business she's built for decades. it was gone in a matter of minutes. >> i have been there for 30 years. i put my heart and soul into this business. erika: just as they got that 6:00 alarm fire under control, another one just blocks away. one neighbor broke to alert people living in the three-story apartment building. the fire chief says it's very unusual to have two major fires in one night, so, they're not ruling anything out. fortunately, there were no serious injuries. emily: starting this week, somerville will be the next local community to ban plastic bags. the ban will be phased in beginning thursday. it will start with businesses that are larger than 10,000 square feet. smaller businesses have until december 5 to comply. plastic bags used for produce, meat, and frozen foods are not included in the ban.
