harv: a fringe effect seems a likely scenario for part of the week, that's the best estimate i have at this particular time. it's way down to the gulf of mexico. it's just become a tropical storm. the highest winds 459 miles per hour. the greater impact is likely to be felt around the upper florida coast. that's because you're going to get a storm surge down there. heavy rain and the gusty winds. it will probably be a strong tropical storm or a minimal hurricane when it makes landfall. then it's over land for a while so it ob but it will still have a tremendous amount of moisture. it will make a somewhat closer path to us later on in the holiday weekend but notice it may get to about this position and may struggle to get any further north. so will it be close enough to give some appreciable rain and some gusty if not strong winds to part of the area? >> the rain chances probably pick up on sunday and continue into monday, at left a medium chance. as for a gusty or strong winds, a medium chance sunday and monday, south coast and the cape

it's gotten muggy, you probably noticed that we certainly had hotter days than this, this summer, but it's now back to being somewhat uncomfortable and it will stay that way overnight into tomorrow. as we wait. the front is in this position. how you can tell? here's all the muggy air, and this is the comfortable air that will spread over the region friday and stay with us through saturday. we've had a few spritzes here or there moving offshore. we do see some showers now approaching the hartford new york board. that's this chunk of moisture. that's actually further west. the first chunk is right out in here. but that extends all the way back to northern p.a. and southwest p.a. and eastern ohio. also, we're seeing a strip of showers not only there, but also to the north. that's with an approaching cold front so between all of this, there are many gaps in between with no moisture, does give chauns of getting a couple of downpours or thunderstorms in part of the area, a couple of

the region. so this is the way it looks on futurecast. if you're going to be out late tonight. you might encounter a shower or a thunderstorm approaching from the west. mostly i think it's overnight, while we're sleeping, a few could move through. tomorrow morning's commute could have a couple of downpours or thunderstorms in the boston area. then, a break in the action, but if there is additional action tomorrow afternoon it would probably be southeastern mass and the cape. that's where the front will lie. after that goes through m comfortable air can throw in on friday. friday and saudi look like pleasant days around here. as far as saturday is concerned we should start out dry. no question, with some sunshine. that system to the south, still hermine or what's left of it, converting to a nontropical type of storm, as the first apressure love it be high, thin clouds, that should gradually thicken as we go through saturday afternoon and evening.

hour winds. it still has some real estate in the golf, very warm water, to intensify some. so it will probably be a stronger tropical storm or maybe even a minimal hurricane, when it makes landfall along the upper florida coast. there are tropical storm warnings and hurricane watches for that area. after that it probably tracks over land. a lot of moisture is all along this track. as we get to sunday and monday, thhe nontropical in nature, or partially nontropical, will reemerge off the coast but how close it will get to us? possibly close enough to get some gusty winds and some wet weather into southern new england with connecticut, rhode island, and the cape, south coast being the closest, probably getting more effects than the rest of us. as we ge out in time there could be gusts at 25 miles per hour. worcester to boston. it could be a little greater

and prayers to the families. >> now tracking hermine. that storm could have an impact on the weekend. harvey learned is here with what we know. >> we do know it's a tropical storm. winds up to 45 miles per hour. it will strengthen some more, either a strong tropical storm or minimal hurricane when it makes landfall alone the upper florida coast. these are all the different computer models, tracking it inland along the carolinas getting closer to us. at least probably in this position is where it's clustered as we get to the latter part of the labor day weekend. after that it's very problematic because it may get stuck with very poor rivers of air to steer it anywhere. does it get close enough to give significant rain and or wind to us? that will be what we have to evaluate. this is where the storm may be saturday afternoon. partly a tropical system and partly not from this point on.
