when it will be ashore? meteorologist: this is the peak that is happening there. i will show you how it is all going. there you can see the storm spinning around in the eastern gulf of mexico by the florida panhandle. it is getting close to making a landfall and has been intensifying. still a category one, but it is circular. tremendous rain bands on the east side. the winds up to 80. it could intensify a little bit more before it makes landfall, so a little opening there in the florida panhandle. so you see gusts over 60 miles per hour. apalachicola. the hurricane warnings along the western florida coast. the storm surge is the single biggest fear four to nine feet.

widespread shock tonight in milford to learn the victim of a freak hit-and-run accident today is a well-known native. the town's first female constable, barbara clement, best known as "sarge" because of her decades of service in the army national guard. >> she would always introduce herself as "sarge". very proud of her rank, proud of where she came from, her family roots. >> she loved being in the guard, full-time. she loved serving her country. she's definitely going to be missed. >> milford police say clement was crossing main street when she was struck by a passing tractor-trailer. security cameras show clement stepped into the truck's path. the driver never stopped, but police suspected he didn't realize he'd hit anyone. less than an hour after police released photos of the missing tractor-trailer, the driver turned himself in.
