and hermine is spinning to our south right now. the problem is it is trying to lift north, but running into high-pressure. this thing is want to come to a halt and spin to ourselves for the next several days. look at what is happening outside. the skies are mainly clear. it is a little cool this morning with 40's and 50's and the suburbs. temperatures hold near 70 this afternoon with a mixture of sun and clouds. the winds are going to be increasing. we are talking about the when starting to pick up around noon time gusting over 20. by the evening, 40 miles an hour and that is going to continue along the south coast right into your labor day on monday. the rain is holding off certainly today and the storm is forecast to lift northward and strengthen as we get until labor day. that will allow the winds to really ramp up.

antoinette: as hermine makes its way up the coast, it's expected to impact our weather for several days. so a lot of folks on cape cod are left considering should i stay or should i go? doug: it is like a clash song. meteorologist a.j. burnett is live in falmouth this morning where many people say they actually plan to ride this out. a.j.? aj: i was wondering how long it would take to work the clash into that. starting off to a great start i it's a great one out here so far this morning. today will not end the same as its beginning. that has a lot of folks wondering if they should head home a little earlier today and cut their vacation short. we caught up with a few folks yesterday and we will talk about them in just a second. we caught up with a pair in town for an outdoor wedding yesterday.

crash after 10:30 p.m. last night. the victim is an adult female. she was hit at morton and canterbury streets. she died at the scene. doug: a massive fire under investigation in roslindale right now. boston fire officials say no one was hurt at this home on walter street. the fire started just before midnight, quickly growing to 3 alarms. the chief estimates damage at about $750,000. five adults were displaced. they will be staying with friends. girl is recovering after she was burned after falling into a fire pit. it happened last night in billerica, at a home on brindle road. firefighters calling the incident an accident. the deputy fire chief says the adults at the home acted quickly to stop the burns, putting the girl in a bathtub with cool water. her injuries resemble second and third degree burns. antoinette: tragedy at a new hampshire fair. a child has died after a horse riding accident in lancaster.

horse show on friday when she was thrown from the horse. witnesses say the girl was responsive when she was rushed to a local hospital, but she died from her injuries yesterday. many people left stunned and heartbroken. >> it seemed to be just one of those incidents that nothing seemed to have startled the horse. a lot of younger kids were around and witnessed it and were extremely upset with what they saw. antoinette: the girl's name and age are not being released for the riding club says the shows will continue through as scheduled through tomorrow. doug: worcester police are searching for two people involved with an armed robbery on west mountain street. police say it happened around 10:45 friday night. the victims say they were about to get in their car when two men approached them. the telegram reporting one suspect armed with a gun forced a woman to the ground. another suspect hit a man in the back of the head with a baseball bat. the men were able to get away with a wallet and an iphone.

vandalism across town. they found st. john's church along providence road tagged with graffiti friday morning. two cars and another building were also vandalized. cindy: tracking hermine this holiday weekend. the storm is slowing down off the mid atlantic coast, but it is still inching its way up north and is expected to get stronger as it spins over the atlantic right now. antoinette: cindy with the track and the timing coming up. hermine leaving behind a path of distraction. doug: and it was a pretty close call for an elderly veteran in florida. the storm sent a huge tree

down power lines. 76-year-old dell collier left covered head to toe in debris as his ceiling caved in. >> i was asleep. i woke up and it was all over with. >> i can't even describe what i feel. doug: collier somehow managed to escape with just cuts and bruises. his home heavily damaged and it is entirely off its foundation and may be a total loss. antoinette: hermine more wind. here it is not going to take so much to knocked down are trees. cindy: we know how dry it has been the summer and we know we are in a drought and the trees are stressed out. [laughter] antoinette: so are we. cindy: it will not take as much wind to bring down some limbs and branches and caused problems as it typically would.

beautiful. the sun is popping up now and we are going to see a little bit of it today with some increasing clouds throughout the day. in terms of what you can expect today, you will notice the wind picking up. by this evening, we're going to start to get into the wind gusts building to 50 miles an hour. elsewhere will not be as windy, but we're not expecting rain today. it is not going to be a washout tomorrow . all the while rough surf and a rip current risk. if you're taking a holiday weekend, be careful and keep that in mind. it does not look like a typical tropical system. this is not consider post-tropical, but it still has a lot of wind. the wind at the center is 60 miles per hour, but this tropical storm force winds extend 200 miles. it is only strengthening because it is sitting over the water now

over 80 degrees. this is going to allow this to strengthen as it slowly lifts northward. notice by this afternoon that it is sitting in the waters to our south. it gets closer by monday afternoon and that means the wind is going to increase during tonight and into labor day. by then, look at the winds. they're up to hurricane force. this tropical storm force winds extend a good distance from the center. as we head toward tuesday and wednesday, the thing is looking northward. it really takes the middle of the week before it gets out of our hair. if you're heading out, temperatures are little cool in the 40's and 50's. we will see a blend of sun and clouds throughout the day with those gusty winds this afternoon. they're coming off the water with a northeasterly wind and temperatures near 70 of the coast. it is really not a bad day. hermine is still good distance away here and it is running into high-pressure.

flow shifts northward and is blocking it from making much progress. we have tropical storm watches along the coast line. it is tropical storm warnings to the south. this is not only where we have the stronger winds, but we have the seas building. there's not much going on in the water in terms of surf. to the south, there is huge wave action and that is lifting northward and the speeds will build to 10-15 feet tonight and tomorrow. search. notice the winds gradually building and we get gus around 30 to 50 miles per hour. it could be higher than that by tomorrow morning. throughout the day tomorrow, the winds picking on that. it is drive-through today into tonight. as we get into your, we will see some bands for showers.
