hermine lost most of its characteristics over the weekend so it is called a post tropical cyclone, but it has not lost the wind and the power. it is moving to the west, northwest at 7 miles per hour. pushing it closer and closer to the coast it is 125 miles south of nantucket right now and it may actually pass over nantucket on wednesday. we'll talk more about the threat of rain and the rain bands that are moving inland right now coming up in a few

is beyond range. a lot is down here to the south and a lot is falling out over the ocean. wish we could get the rain to lift its way in here. notice how they are way up here to the north shore. let's focus on what is going on. a few sprinkles through the gloucester area. not much. you may have opportunities as it tries to lift its way northward. heading down toward the city to right about here. little bands here m they have been going through quincy and moving their way off to the west. but the showers are starting to show up a little more widespread and then it is quite impressive as they came across. there is a band that just crossed the canal and moving to southern plymouth county. we have several more bands cutting across the cape. what happens? you get a downpour and then nothing. and then another downpour and then nothing. that's the way it is going to

notice the map by 11:00 tonight we are still seeing the bands set up. perhaps in the overnight we may get a heavier one at 2:00 in the morning. tomorrow morning there are hit and miss showers out there. the day tomorrow, a lot of gray skies and hit and miss showers. that's where we are seeing most of the activity. the eye is out here. if you watch carefully you can see the eye right there. the center of what is left of this will on wednesday. by then a much more diminished system, but still bands of rain as we talk about wednesday. when i add it up, it it is not widespread. i put a half an inch to an inch of rain. one or two bands in the right spot and we could see totals in the one to two-inch category. consider yourself lucky.

temperatures. it gains some strength as soon as it moved back out over the ocean. once it heads toward nantucket and off to the north, the water temperatures are much, much colder and that will under cut this storm and make it fall apart. providence at 40 miles an hour and the last hour at 30 miles an hour. stronger winds near the shoreline. that will be the trend as we head through the evening. the strongest winds are after that they will start to diminish across the area. here is how the next seven days look and we will continue to track this storm tomorrow and wednesday. wednesday the showers are more broken up and moving out of here. by thursday look at the heat and the humidity. the high temperature is back on friday. we will hit the 90-degree mark. there may be a round of thunderstorms and the weekend
