department and union agree body cameras are the future here. but the question for the court is how to roll them out. >> we have nothing to hide. this is only going to show how difficult our job is. shaun: commissioner william evans cited 3 local cases. where video helped vindicate boston police officers and keep the public calm. but the question over body cameras has left bpd and the union fighting in court. >> there are a lot of unanswered questions to this day privacy -- about five or issues, things of that nature. shaun: the union says officers were promised they could volunteer to wear them. in a pilot program. but when none did the department began to assign them to 100 officers. the city says the union coerced officers telling them not to volunteer. >> did you take any action to discourage them not to volunteer? >> not at all.

of the week when -- in a few minutes. ed: hingham police looking for a brazen band of thieves they say made off with $14,000 worth of i-phones. police say the group of nearly a dozen young men hit the apple store in what's called a swarm robbery, at the derby street shops last night. the group overwhelmed employees and other shoppers, quickly cutting off security cables and running off with i-phone floor samples. police say no one was threatened or hurt during the robbery. >> the witnesses several of this group of people had entered into a white car with a license plate covered up outside area they believe it was similar to a ford taurus and the rest of the group ran across the parking lot to word a kohl's store. jc: two people are hurt, one seriously, after a driver lost consciousness on route 9 in natick and veered off the road. police tell us this case service truck was headed west on route 9 when it veered into this parking lot of the aj rose carpet store, hitting 4 parked vehicles. a woman was sitting in one of

firefighters in groveland are busting stereotypes while doing what they love. jc the newest class of : firefighters is all female. four of the women will attend the fire academy this fall. one of them has already been working as a firefighter in the west newbury fire department. with their hires, the 32-member groveland fire department is now nearly 20% female. congratulations to them. i wore the gear once. it is so heavy. 40 or 50 pounds.
