drizzle, some very light showers. pretty similar to yesterday. believe it or not, this is still associated with what's left of hermine spinning about 150 miles to our south and west. this storm is weakening and it has built up the seas a little bit. we are going to see the patchy areas of drizzle, fog this morning kind of dissipate a little bit. there could be some b still can't rule out a spot shower with an east-northeasterly wind about 10 to 15. low-to-mid 70s at the coast. closer to that 80-degree mark farther inland. how about 90 degrees? warm to end the week. let's get you to the roads. might need the wipers in a few towns. >> good morning, olessa. >> good morning. eastbound heading to the top of the screen. so far, it's a quiet start.

this morning. 93 south, also on the expressway by mass avenue. south of town we're fine. construction is clearing over by highland avenue on 128. as you travel north, no problems on 93 south down into boston. trains and buses, we're expecting them on schedule. >> the family of a woman found dead in danville, new hampshire, says they have no idea who would want to hurt her grieving son and ex-husband identify the victim at joanne boucher. the unit was at the caramel drive home much of yesterday. her ex-husband lives in haverhill with their son. >> a woman is expected in court, charged in this alleged drunk driving crash in boston. policesy lily reid was drunk when she slammed into a police

nobody seriously hurt there. >> right now police are issuing a warning after revealing pictures of local high school students turned up on snapchat. >> weston high school administrators met with the class after compromising photos of a boy ended up on a social media app. police have no information that girls were targeted. for parents it's a wake-up call. >> we haven't spent enough time talking to them about how vigilant they have to be and how vigilant we have to be. so i'm going to have that talk as soon as i get home. >> police do not know if the person posting the photos is a student, but they know this is a crime. even sending compromising pictures of themselves qualifies as dissemination of child pornography, which is a felony. >> right now a driver is facing several charges after plunging into the cape cod canal. police say it was no accident. take a look.

some 35 feet down into the canal yesterday. witnesses say the unidentified driver planned to end up in the water as he backed up his ford to the top of the road, revved the engine and took off. >> he was airborne, caught wires -- they were up pretty high. ripped off the hood. the hood sparked and ripped off. when he hit the water, the car floated. >> several charges against the driver include operating to endanger. >> it's 4:34. this morning the fight over police body cameras will be back in a boston courtroom and john atwater is at the courthouse with new details in this battle. >> that evidence is putting boston police union on the defensive this morning. we want to show you a flyer that was posted by the union.

participate in the body camera program until a deal is reached. written on the top, sanction any officer who volunteers. the union says they could volunteer, but when nobody did, commissioner william evans assigned them to 100 officers. the union denies that it told officers not to take part. >> action to discourage your members from volunteering? >> not at >> we have nothing to hide. >> the commissioner says there are at least three local cases where video helped vindicate boston police officers. the pilot program was supposed to start last week. that was pushed back now to september 12. the aclu is also chiming in saying that these cameras should be standard equipment like a gun or badge. that hearing continues here this morning at 9:00. live in boston this morning,

>> new numbers show massachusetts is well below the national average when it comes to deporting undocumented immigrants. a herald review found last year the bay state deported just 26.9% of illegal immigrants. that's the lowest of any state. far lower than the national average of 46.4%. the herald reports it's a rate that dropped every year since 2006 when 80.56 >> donald trump and hillary clinton are getting ready for a critical moment in their fight for the white house. with less than nine weeks to go, the pressure is on. >> in a matter of hours, both candidates will be tested, taking part in a forum on foreign policy. while they won't share the stage, this could serve as an important preview of the debates to come. the battleground states will be the big focus today.

florida, chelsea clinton is in pennsylvania. donald trump is set to deliver a policy speech in philadelphia this morning. last night in north carolina, he hit his rival hard, saying she is not qualified for the oval office. >> she couldn't even get a security clearance based on what she's done. her conduct is disqualifying. >> a year later, hillary clinton is still answering quens e-mail server while she was secretary of state. and she's still apologizing as she did in an exclusive interview with abc's david muir. >> there are no excuses. i take responsibility, i made a mistake, i have apologized and obviously i wish i could do differently what happened. i certainly would never do that again. >> and she is getting high profile help. first lady michelle obama expected to campaign with

the school closed its 130 campuses across the country, leaving students with thousands of dollars in debt and no diploma. massachusetts attorney general maureen healey filed lawsuits against itt earlier in the year, calling it a predatory, for-profit school. but she does offer some hope for students here. >> cancel all payments to the school, save your documentation, contact our office so that you can apply for a discharge of all of your federal loans. >> in with what we believe is a complete disregard by the u.s. department of education for due process to the company, hundreds of thousands of current students and alumni and more than 8,000 employees will be negatively affected. healey says her office will announce open events that itt students can attend for assistance. >> 19 before 5:00. ahead on the eyeopener, new concerns about the cesarean section. a health problem that could lead

trouble for new england lobstermen coming from overseas. the potential for a big blow to their market. four hundred million dollars. that's how much charter schools will drain from massachusetts public schools this year. that desperately need it. four hundred million that won't fund more science and technology, arts or preschool, counseling, or smaller class sizes. four hundred million unavailable to the ninety-six percent of students who don't attend charter schools. let's improve public schools for all students, not just a select few.

randy: things calmed down. hermine is history finally.

she's loosening on her grasp for us. since midnight we've barely had rainfall. we're looking at bans of light moisture kind of pin wheeling and spinning on through, rotating from southeast to northwest. so nothing widespread and not as numerous as yesterday, but good idea to have an umbrella with you this morning. you might get caught in a patch of drizzle or myself this it's around 70 on the cape this morning. not widespread fog in town, but with a light wind off the water, there are patches of fog out there. as you get to worcester county, visibility is down to a quarter-mile. there may be fog slowing you down as well. so where is hermine? sitting and spinning in a weakened fashion. that influence is still, you

to the center of the storm. the highest wave and surf action that we're seeing right now is on our south beaches closer to the center of that storm. so along the south coast, the islands today, there's a high surf advisory once again. if you're thinking of venturing into water, the rip current risk is still quite high today, so keep that in mind. there will be localized waves about three to 5 feet overall. so high temperatures going up into the low-to-mid 70s the wind will be out of the east-northeast about 10 to 15 miles per hour. but only the interior -- notice how a couple of spots may sneak closer to 80 degrees. there will be some breaks of sunshine, but i think the best chance of seeing the drizzle and mist will be mid morning, closer to lunchtime notice a few breaks of sun, but there may be spot showers as well. if you get into a brief light shower, it doesn't last long. and there will be a few breaks

totally overnight. there could be drizzle redeveloping tonight as well. so we're down in the low-to-mid 60s for low temperatures tonight. hermine remnants still hanging around tomorrow morning. a front approaches in the afternoon, kicking up the winds and bringing a lot of humidity. so the temperatures go up tomorrow. we should be going up into the mid 80s away from the coast. southwest winds will keep u but on friday, temperatures making a run toward 90 degrees. so far this year we've hit 90 degrees 20 times. that's the most since back in 2010. so we may do it again on friday. back to low-to-mid 80s this weekend. looks like the best chance of showers and thunderstorms probably coming in early sunday. most of the weekend is looking pretty nice. not quite done with hermine just yet. emily: not done with summer yet.

you can see traffic is quiet in both directions across the span. let's check out the rest of your ride as you travel into opportunity to. overnight construction. 93 south by the bridge and on the expressway by mass avenue. we're doing fine on 94, 24 and route 23. pike is quiet. we're expecting trains and to start on schedule. randy: just democrats blocked a zika funding package after returning from the recess. that's because republicans tacked on restrictions to planned parenthood on the same financial bill. the white house has been seeking funding to combat the zika virus since february. lawmakers expect to address the issue by the end of the month as part of a must-pass stop gap spending measure. emily: the flu mist may not be an option this year. pediatricians say that's because

doctors recommend that every child over 6 months get a flu shot. and the time is actually now. not to just protect your family, but those around you. if enough people get the vaccine, everyone's protection increases. >> that may be true that their child would do ok with the flu. what about the neighbor's newborn? what about the grandmother? they may not do well with the flu. if you get it or your kid gets it, you could give it to everyone should get vaccinated by october. a new study is pushing for women to reconsider cesarean sections if they are not necessary. babies delivered by a cesarean section were 50% more likely to become obese kids and young adults than babies delivered through the birth canal according to "growing up today study." the report found that cesarean section babies were 64% more likely to be obese than their siblings who were delivered naturally. researchers believe the birth

nutrients for the baby's health. randy: your economy now. asian shares mostly unchanged in the overnight after a weak report on u.s. service companies. right now stock futures here are slightly higher. today gallup is expected to release its u.s. job creations index, which will give investors insight on job market condition. european union reviewing a proposal to ban imported lobsters from new england and american lobsters that posed a threat to local sea life. american and canada lobsters make up $200 million worth of exports into the eu each year. fishermen here say a ban would absolutely devastate their industry. some massachusetts farmers whose crops have been decimated by the crop can qualify for federal natural disaster assistance.

communities which include essex, franklin, middlesex and worcester counties. farmers in other massachusetts counties will become eligible in the coming days. randy: a small victory for an american indian tribe pushing to stop construction on a four-state. they have been proposing the project that would expand into north and south dakota, iowa, and illinois. yesterday a judge some construction. over the weekend, pipeline workers allegedly bulldozed over burial sites on private land. randy: apple's iphone is expected to be unveiled today. they have decided to phase out the analog jack and the ear buds will plug into the lightening port, the one used to charge. other than that, big changes are not expected.

>> just about 4:55. time for news to go. >> police warn about a disturbing trend on snapchat after nude photos of teens showed up on that site. yesterday worcester high school administrators met with the sophomore class after compromising photos of boys appeared on snapchat. police do not know if the person posting the photos is a student sending compromising pictures even of yourself dissemination of child pornography. >> boston police make two more arrests tied to a murder earlier this year. niccokawon pledger-grant and lisa lewis were arrested in rhode island. he is charged with murder, she with being an accessories. back in march, 28-year-old allex bryant was found dead on humboldt avenue in roxbury. boston police arrested a third suspect last month. >> police are searching for the driver who hit 19-year-old woman

cafe. friends of the victim tell newscenter 5 that she was not in the crosswalk when she was hit by a gray or silver-colored sedan that kept going. the woman went to the hospital but has since been released. a dorchester man is held on $5,000 bail this morning, charged in a deadly hit-and-run. anthony buchanan was arraigned yesterday on a charge of motor vehicle emily: a former campus police officer is free on bail charged of committing a lewd act on campus. he was fired yesterday as he appeared in district court. the incident allegedly happened on campus saturday afternoon. he is also charged with witness intimidation. bill cosby's sexual assault trial will begin next june. the pennsylvania judge presiding over the case set june 5 as the tentative start date. the judge said cosby is blind

temperatures in the mid 80s on saturday. we've got warm weather the end of the week. as soon as we can kick hermine out of here, what is left of this thing? you can still see the circulation and the outer reaches of the moisture working in. so patches of drizzle and mist this morning as well. we'll climb into the 70s this afternoon. you can see behind hermine, it's hot. dc even across northern new england, burlington, vermont in the mid 80s today. so there's warmth working on in. chicago around 90 degrees. that's our weather for the end of the week. also watching a frontal boundary. this will likely trigger thunderstorms through the northern plains states today. we've got a chance of an isolated shower or thunderstorm as that front approaches thursday evening and night. otherwise, look at friday. the heat coming on in, humidity up high into the end of the week.
