on this september 11th. sundayheavy heart and a lot of emotions today. thank you for being with us, i'm antoinette antonio. doug: and i'm doug meehan. we have some severe weather to talk about this morning. aj: we do, each of these yellow box is indicative of a severe thunderstorm warning. from left to right in worcester co, effect until 10:15 about another 15 minutes. then we move towards metrowest and boston itself now under a severe thunderstorm warning until 11:00 this morning. that includes north shore immediate south shore northern plymouth and a good chunk of norfolk county as well. over to the radar not a lot of lightning being detected with the storms. however, this line has had a history of producing gusty wind

nicole: a lot of mixed emotions here. it's the laughter and tears and hugs. many people overcome with the memories of that day. doug: all right, thank you. some of the other events happening around the state in remembrance. the red cross is holding a remembrance blood drive at fenway park until 2:30 this afternoon. veterans of lincoln are holding this afternoon at 1:30. somerville's annual 9/11 vigil walk kicks off at 6 tonight on cedar street to davis square. president obama held a moment of silence at the white house at 8:46 this morning that was the moment when the first hijacked plane crashed into the world trade center's north tower. right now the president is at a ceremony at the pentagon. you are looking at live pictures there right now.

the ceremony at ground zero started at 8:40 and will continue until 1 this afternoon. the remembrance includes the reading of the names of all the people who died in the attacks. in shanksville, pennsylvania 40 candle lanterns put in place in front of the wall of names. one for each passenger and crew member who died when united flight 93 that crashed there. the plane had been headed to san francisco from newark, new jersey, when the hijackers took over. antoinette: bourne. a car on fire on sandwich road this morning. the call came in just after 5a -- 5:00 a.m. firefighters say the driver crash into a pole and the car burst into flames. a man saw the crash happen and pulled the woman from the burning car. she was taken to falmouth hospital. she is expected to be okay. right now dozens of college students are recovering after two decks collapse. police in hartford connecticut say between 30 and 40 trinity

fell onto a deck below before hitting the ground. police tweeting these photos of the aftermath last night, the accident happened at what police are calling a large off campus party. fortunately, no one was seriously hurt. doug: new information on a deadly boat crash in taunton. the boaters taking part in races on watson pond this weekend. rescuers say three drivers were thrown from their boats after a colliding. the accident happening after one of the boast spun out at 65 miles per hour. a 39 year old new hampshire man died at the scene and a 67 year old man from maine was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. a 3rd man suffered minor injuries. >> i had been in a few accident over my 23 years. i knew it didn't look good. the last thing we expect is an accident. we are here to have fun and enjoy this.

department's dive team was on scene for the race and pulled all three drivers out of the water. the crash is under investigation. state police have made an arrest in a deadly crash along i-95 in boxford. police say 22 year old nathaniel armstrong of amesbury was heading north when he crashed into a car stopped in the breakdown lane. a 45 year old man from newburyport was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. armstrong is facing several charges including oui and motor vehicle homicide. he will be arraigned tomorrow. antoinette: hampshire man is behind bars, in connection to a murder in danville. 37 year old richard moore of danville is charged with second degree murder. the attorney general says moore repeatedly stabbed 51 year old jo anne boucher. she was found dead inside her home last week. neighbors say moore, a registered sex offender, had been living with boucher for months. the news of his arrest a relief to neighbors in the area.

be in court tomorrow. doug: a home invasion is under investigation in worcester. police say 6 men and two women drover up to a home on clark street and forced their way in. at least one of the men was armed with a tire iron. two teenagers were in the house and fought off their attackers with a baseball bat. the suspects took off. police say the incident does not appear to be random. the victims knew the suspects. at least one 18 year old girl is being charged in connection with the attack. antoinette:he fire in that destroyed a home in holliston. the fire broke out on mayflower landing yesterday morning. it was a new home under construction. holliston fire tweeted out these pictures from the scene. arson watch is now offering up to $5000 in reward money for information. doug: a prestigious braintree prep school now confirming that its headmaster has been suspended. steven bliss, of cats academy is facing charges after getting caught in a sex sting. he's accused of making a deal to

in a statement, the school says the allegations are not in any way connected with the school or its students. bliss is due back in court next month. antoinette: right now walpole police are working to find who ever spray painted a message on the high school. police say it's clear the vandalism is in response to a decision by the school principal to cancel all dances this year. the walpole high school principal says its because several students repeatedly the graffiti also targeted police. anyone with information is asked to contact police. doug: signs of hope in miami. antoinette: why a travel advisory linked to the zika virus could soon be over. the update from the cdc as widespread spraying continues. a historic new england bridge goes up in flames. what investigators are now saying about the cause of the fire. doug: the mlb post season is just around in the corner.

morning, intense airstrikes in syria ahead of a cease-fire scheduled to start tomorrow. opposition activists say dozens of people have been killed in the city of aleppo. also today syrian state tv reports the government has accepted the the cease fire agreement reached by the u.s. and russian negotiators. secretary of state john kerry is calling the agreement a turning point. iran is building a new nuclear power plant with help from russia. it's the first project since last year's landmark nuclear deal. the project will be monitored by agency. the u.s. along with russia, britain, france, germany, and china, reached a deal with iran last year in which tehran agreed to curb its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of international sanctions. antoinette: the woman captured in an iconic photograph that marked the end of world war two has passed away. greta friedman was 92. her son says she died at a hospital in richmond, virginia. friedman went to times square in

good morning everyone on the september 11. antoinette: we have a.j. burnett in with us this morning. pretty busy out there. it is pouring. aj: gusty wind heavy rain, visibility goes down very quickly. doug: temperatures come down. aj: that is the rain cooled air. then the humidity will drop as well. that be dealing with today. first of all, severe thunderstorm warning remains in effect until 11:00 for all of essex county, down to the 128 or framingham then brockton down to the south. boston included in that severe thunderstorm warning. there was that line of thunderstorms getting set to move through. into the boston area already. gusty wind right towards beverly.

sunday morning. a delay for the first regular flights of the world largest passenger plane into logan. the herald reports british airways is holding back on its 4 flights a week plan between london and boston. the a380's were suppose to take flight in february but the airline is replacing the jumbo jets with smaller planes. massport says a construction issue with a passenger club lounge is partly to blame. doug: apple is still looking to create its own self driving car technology. but the new york times reports the company may be rethinking its strategy. competitor tesla claims apple has hired hundred of engineers to work on its automotive project. officials in san francisco say the company has also inquired about creating an automotive testing ground. aj: though storms are making their way east. a tree is downright now.

i would be willing to bet we'll get a few more pictures like this before the day is over. antoinette: yeah. aj: the storms last for 10 or 15 minutes then they are kind of not there anymore. antoinette: this is going east really quickly. aj: it is. as we were speaking, the severe thunderstorm warning and essex county has been dropped. that is why we aren't seeing anything there on the map. the yellow shading off to the north still the coastal portion of new hampshire and maine under a severe thunderstorm warning. these have just blown through boston. now things are starting to settle down. some patchwork sunshine and lightning before another round of quick hitting showers comes through. this was really the lions's share of the activity.

and we still have areas like pembroke and middleborough to hit. white island shores as well. there was the radar site at the industrial park there. it is called the cone of silence for the radar can see things right on top of it. georgetown off to the north is coming through right now. here is a history of wind damage reports. trees came down. down to the south starting to see more storm heading through central connecticut right now. i think this part of the line will fill in a little bit. it is providence towards never again today and into southern bristol county and into plymouth county you get into some action over the next couple hours or so.

sunshine over nantucket. we transition to much drier air. think about another chance after the rain is over with you get into this, the back edge of the cloud sunshine. i told you it was over before you knew it. it came through and is done in boston, at least a heavy stuff. still we have some showers that wi c ary. more importantly, the humidity impact. we are starting to get into more of a pleasant or refreshing feel out there. these of the fall i conditions that build and behind the storms. another couple of hours and it gets a little better from here

less humidity building and behind it. high-pressure is cooling tomorrow morning. for wednesday, this cold front comes through with some showers and storms reinforcing the cool and crisp air coming in later this week. temperatures again starting to fall then down into the 50's and 40's through tonight. tomorrow only up to 75 degrees. lots of sunshine it will be a great day out there. we do have a tropical wave ocean right now. we are monitoring it for development, all of the models are taking its trump to the north and not going to bother the u.s. mainland at all. a quick check on the 70 forecast, sunshine comes back this afternoon along with the lower humidity. a brilliant day tomorrow and tuesday some showers and storms before and of the very fall like day thursday and friday.

is a ceremony inside the state house this morning. being received by the widow of a new bedford teacher. he tried to save a pregnant waitress during the taunton attacks at the mall. his wife excepting that award for citizen bravery on his behalf. was american airlines flight attendant from athens she was killed when flight 11 crashed but was able to give ground crew's key information about the hijacking before that plane went down. doug: also this morning and earlier today a wreath laying at the boston public garden. the families of many the victims gathered this morning for the service and moment of silence.
