14 look at this movement back over 3 degrees above the average. so, so far, nothing really severe has taken place that we're aware of. there are still some scattered downpours and storms around, but wide gaps where nothing at all is taking place. i want to show you what's been going on around southern new hampshire and maine. a lot of this, the heaviest action is sliding offshore. there is a little bit of a shower here that's developed just west of newberry port that i've been following a little bit of a young pour moving right on through, and we follow that from fox bor reon eastward. so if that continues to move to the east, it may survive its trip getting closer to middleboro in the next half-hour or so but the strongest activity is a lynn of downpours and some embedded thunderstorms. the edge of it went through fall river. now it's approaching new bedford but it extends all the way back into southern rhode island so it's moving east-southeast with
5:48 pm
9:00 tonight, i think all the action is offshore. the front is moving through the cape. the cooler, drier air is coming in and it's going to become progressively cooler and drier overnight. a far cry from the kind of weather that we had today, and it also is going to be cool and dry right on through tomorrow night and friday morning. for sure. you'll again have the feel of fall. possibly a little bit more this time than the last time, several days ago. so any thunderstorm threat should be ov about 69, though, it will be falling, because the wind will be northwest-northwest. it will be behind that cold front so the cool air will be coming in. the same thing for the springsteen concert. it will be turning cooler as temperatures will fall through the 60s. winds shifting to the northwest and north, a little bit gusty. here's the heat. it gets pushed to the south. the cooler air comes in, and dry air and comfortable air as well.
5:49 pm
tomorrow morning, when it will have the feel of fall in the air. 40s in cool spots. most places in the 50s. and there will be a fairly active breeze, so you'll feel it especially along the coast where it will keep it in the 60s, right around 70 over the interior. a sparkling day. we do have julia, latest tropical storm. you can see it on radar, bands of very heavy rain moving along the south carolina coastline. the real issue with julia is not so much the winds, barely 40 miles per hour. it's the fact that it's going to move very much. just basically almost doing a little loop, in the next few days, which means if t potential is there for, once again, very hefty amounts of rain. three to six inches, locally up to 10. could be occurring, and so the flood threat is the most significant thing there. >> but for us, we showed you, it will be cool tomorrow morning. i want to show you it will be cool on friday morning as well. check out system of these numbers. like about a 41 degree temperature around orange.
5:50 pm
then the temperature will bounce up into the 70s in the afternoon and the weekend turns warmer, eventually more humid. saturday looks like the better of the two weekend days. a chance for a few showers or thunderstorms increases on sunday. especially in the northern and western portions other area and the rest of the area most likely sunday night into monday. >> thank you. a new hacking scandal this one targeting some of america's top olympic athletes. several olympians whose medical records were hacked and put agency. they showed that that several got approval to use prohibited drugs. >> these documents prove that these u.s. athletes played by the book and did everything that they were supposed to do. the complete opposite of what the russians did. >> more than a hundred russian athletes were banned from the rio games for alleged state sponsored drug cheating, a charge that russia denies.
