the suspect in the case is held without bail. >> reporter: after mowing down three phoenix cops in a gas station parking lot, the man allegedly behind the wheel appearing in court. 44-year-old, much of the time, slumped over. >> mr. payne, if you'll stand up, please. >> reporter: documents describe him as a homeless transyent under the influence of drugs or alcohol in the alleged attack. all caught on and no accident according to authorities. >> our police officers targeted. >> reporter: 2:00 a.m. tuesday, meeting outside the store, and nearby, a driver of the red car watches them for minutes, and then this, you can see the sergeant going down with a broken leg, another officer diving out of the way, but a third cop sent flying eight feet into the air. i thank god we're not planning three funerals right now.
