>> from boston's news leader, this is wcvb newscenter 5 at noon. emily: breaking news. sky 5 over rehoboth as police tackle an armed man after an hours long standoff at a gas station. erika: we want to get to sera congi who is live to explain how this all unfolded. sera: this came to an end about a half hour ago. taking place about a half mile down the road. this is winthrop street. police keeping members of the public away just in case of any sort of danger.

under heavy police escort. we believe the suspect was in that ambulance. swat officers in full gear could be seen all morning long. the focus of the activity at the stores gas pump where police surrounded the vehicle. this went on for about five hours until at about 11:25 you can see the officers tackling a suspect, taking that suspect into a spokesperson for cumberland farms says it started before 7:00 a.m. everyone was safely evacuated but that turned out to be the standoff. all roads leading to the gas station were closed and that had a ripple effect on nearby businesses. >> we had to shut down because they are not letting anybody either way so we had to close. we all have kids in this town and it is scary. we go to cumberland farms

morning. sera: no employees or customers were heard. we are expecting everything from the chief larry hope to learn more details about the standoff as well as the suspect and whatever potential condition he may be a. the standoff ending safely, a big relief to a lot of people here. emily: thank you. a teenager due in court and a violent robbery attempt in beverly. and murder after allegedly stabbing a man last night. police say the teen burst into a home on livingston avenue and demanded money before stabbing the 25-year-old inside. the victim was taken to the hospital with stab wounds. erika: this dollar tree worker in malden is accused of taking inappropriate photos up a customer's skirt. antoinette antonio is live with new details. antoinette: that suspect was

away from the alleged victim, any witnesses, and the store where he's accused of taking those inappropriate pictures up a woman's dress. 29-year-old christopher molina faces a judge today, facing that up skirting charge. malden police say he works at the dollar tree store on broadway where the crime happened. according to court documents the victim was shopping with her mom and she leaned over to look at items on a lower shelf when a third woman says she molina take a picture up the alleged victim's dress and yelled what are you doing at molina. the witness says he ran to hide in an employee office. molina denying to police that he took then deleted the pictures but malden police say there is video surveillance supporting the victims and witnesses claims. molina left the courthouse on

this look only a new hampshire man is accused of threatening to blow up the city's police station. police say warren bears had a machete when he threatened to blow up the building with a propane tank after 2:00 in the morning. he was arrested at his home -- at this home. state police bomb squad was called in to examine suspected explosive devices. emily: a guilty plea from this new hampshire man accused of secretly recording two young and zachary bishop admitted to recording the 14 and 16-year-old girls at the bedford, new hampshire store. police searched bishop's cell phone and say there are three other females who may have been recorded. bishop will not serve any jail time as long as he remains on good behavior for two years. crews are searching for a man who vanished in the plymouth pond yesterday. free people were out and about on herring pond when they jumped into the water.

two years. for boston and worcester we are down more than nine inches for this year alone but if you go back to the start of 2015, our deficits. this two year drought in boston is the driest two year period going back to the 1800s and if we don't get 4.3 inches of rain before the end of the year we will maintain the number one spot so this is the situation that is certainly rare and could be unprecedented for the city of boston. monday there is an opportunity of seeing some showers. they could be lingering downpours, thunderstorms as well. in the meantime, cool dry air is coming down out of canada and the wind has been coming out of the water. for the most part, it is drier. window little active and gusty along the coast. it has kept temperatures down.

the lower 70's. a major mess on route 20 in charleston. police say a car turning onto bay pass road caused this change reaction -- this chain reaction crash. incredibly no one was hurt but the impact caused some vehicles to land on top of others. four of the five vehicles had to be total the scene. police saying the drivers were following each other too closely. campaign trail. both the hall trump and hillary clinton's running mates in new hampshire today you get kenneth martin reports clinton is also back on the trail days after pneumonia forced her to take a break. kenneth: hillary clinton itching to get back to work on the campaign trail. >> i am so much better. kenneth: the nominee was on the time joyner morning show.

emily: right now at least six people are dead following a train crash in pakistan. a passenger train slammed into a goods train that stopped on the tracks injuring 100 people. rescuers had to cut the trains to get trapped passengers out investigators say the driver of the passenger train did not stop for a red signal after the other train had stopped on the tracks. erika: a 13-year-old boy is in ohio -- 13 your boy in ohio is dead after being fatally shot by police. officers responded to reports of an armed robbery. police found three suspects. one allegedly pulled a gun out of his waistband.

gun. emily: police say joseph michael schreiber had made anti-islamic statements on facebook weeks before the alleged crime. the 32-year-old faces arson and hate crime charges after being arrested sunday after police put out that surveillance video of the suspect. he faces 30 years in prison if convicted. police in ohio have released the 911 call from a woman pleading for help after being abducted and held against her will. elizabeth her tells us it helped lead polic alleged serial killer. elizabeth: a woman fearing for her life. whispers and banks for help with her captor, a suspected serial killer, just feet away. >> does he have a weapon? >> he's got a taser. elizabeth: the victim telling

55 in boston. the only spot in the 70's, providence -- we have had a mixture of sun and clouds. it looks beautiful outside. definitely a bite to the air when you factor in the wind near the water coming in out of the east 13 miles proud of. the air is dry and comfortable so we will see dramatic fluctuations as we head into this evening. wind gusting over talking miles per hour. wind coming off the water has brought in moisture. you can follow that trajectory on the satellite imagery. low levels moisture bubbling up these clouds. shrieks of clouds working in off the ocean and a couple of them earlier this morning actually did have light sprinkles with them are you most of us are dry and that's the way it's been ago. -- it has got -- it is going to go. overall, sun and clouds the rest of the afternoon.

this air flows in out of canada. heading out the rest of the afternoon, temperatures don't change much by the coast. in boston, still in the 60's by the time the sun goes down. heading to fenway tonight will bring a jacket. the aggies are in town. we will be down in the 50's by the end of the game -- the yankees are in town. we will be down in the 50's by the end of the game. look at these 40's. most of the suburbs, boston going to the mainly clear into the overnight and mainly clear to start tomorrow morning and even though it's a cool start tomorrow morning winds will turn more to the south in the afternoon hours tomorrow so that will warm us up and it's even warmer and humid on saturday as we get to a southwesterly wind. temperatures tomorrow, a little better than today. low 70's at the coast. mid 70's further inland. it's a little busy still

coast of south carolina. a lot of the moisture is offshore but there could be additional rain. here you can see the distance of ian from bermuda. this will shift to the north atlantic. a tropical depression close to the coast of africa will shift westward and it is forecast to strengthen by early next week. we could have carl on our hands so we will keep you posted on that. a couple of drys looks like the pic day of the week. back in to the lower 80's and as we head into sunday and monday we will watch a front approach. slow to get in here and may stall out into monday and that will give us an opportunity with more humidity around to get in showers, thunderstorms, maybe some downpours. you know we need the rainfall. beneficial rain coming sunday into monday and we try things out and warm them up a bit by the middle of next week.

emily: we are updating breaking news. the armed standoff at a rehoboth gas station is over. the suspect was 38-year-old benjamin campbell. he apparently threatened an employee at the gas station and try to light one of the gas hoses with al leiter but police had shut off the pump at that point. police are winning to go into his car because he said he had a gun and a bomb. they are waiting for an explosives canine to arrive.

right now he is at taunton hospital. a georgia neighborhood on edge after more than a dozen iphones get loose. erika: the owner claims the pats were in secured cases -- secured cages while they mold dishwashing moved. neighbors are being warned to look out for the pythons which their owner says is not harmful. experts at the snakes are not been a mess and if confronted will likely slither away. i would likely run a cindy: it is beautiful. definitely feeling like fall. going to be a chilly morning tomorrow morning then we will start to moderate temperatures. saturday is the pic day of the week. showers and storms around on monday.
