trial. pushed in a wheelchair and donning a hospital gown, he appeared in the totten courtroom this morning -- taunton courtroom this morning. he faces charges after the five-hour standoff with police. he was in his suv at these -- at the gas pump, where police say he claimed to have a gun under his shirt which turned out to be a ng he didn't to "load this place up." at one point police say he tried to light a gas nozzle with a lighter, when swat officers moved in, he slammed his vehicle into one of the armored trucks, and then took off on foot, he was tackled to the ground, and subdued by a police dog. he's facing several charges , including attempted arson of a gas station, as he was wheeled out kimball gave a wave to loved ones sitting in the courtroom,~- -- sitting in the courtroom.

high pressure sitting right on top of us. what we are watching for the weekend is the frontal boundary back here. it has showers and thunderstorms with it. as this moves through, we will get some rain. the question is, how much? as we happen to this tropical moisture -- tropical storm julia -- that could enhance the rainfall. we are in an situation. that is covering 52% of the state right now. that could be significant. by the way, in the tropics, three named systems -- carl -- a tropical storm. that is forecast to strengthen into a hurricane way out in the atlantic next week.

every time a new charter school opens in massachusetts, it takes funding away from regular public schools in that area. this year alone, charter schools will take more than 400 million dollars away from neighborhood public schools. that's not right. instead of draining even more money from neighborhood public schools and giving it to charters, let's devote public resources to all of our students... not just a select few. don't lift the cap on charter schools.
