a violent confrontation inside a drugstore. emily: a teenager shot three suspects on the run. antoinette antonio is at the scene where police say this was not random. antoinette? antoinette: the victim is just 18 years old and police say he was targeted. the shooting happened yesterday afternoon in broad daylight right inside this cvs pharmacy at central and washington police say it sent customers running out the door. the victim apparently got into an argument with the three suspects when one of them pulled out a gunfiring twice. >> i looked and the young man was holding his shoulder. he seemed ok. conscious and everything. >> the victim was taken to a brockton hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

their late teens or 20s. police say that there is surveillance video of the confrontation. at this point it's still unclear if those three suspects same in looking for the victim, if they happened to run into him or what exactly led to this confrontation and shooting. antoinette antonio, wcvb newscenter 5. emily: thank you. protesters break an overnight curfew in charlotte, north carolina. the demonstrators are peaceful after two nights of violence. the family of the man who was shot and they have seen video of the incident. the eyeopener's erika tarantal is tracking the new developments coming in right now. erika: that expired at 6:00. they demanded protesters who stayed out past the midnight deadline overnight to go in but dispersed quietly with officers making arrests to maintain the calm. this is after two nights of

threatened by terrence kretcher on her way to another call. the dash-cam video shows shelby approaching. she is charged with manslaughter. randy: all clear at the laguardia airport. police evacuated one terminal. put the airport on lockdown. it happened last night after the notice of the unsandy suv. says it was evacuated. it was cleared without incident. there is no word yet on who left it there at the terminal. a traffic officer is recovering after being struck by a car near a construction zone at lexington. this happened at 10:30 last night. a fallen road at pleasant street. a traffic officer suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

mostly cloudy day with only filtered sunshine, but despite that look at lunchtime, near 80 degrees, just into the 80s this afternoon, thanks to that wind bringing in the milder temperatures. and look what happens towards 5:00, 6:00, showers start to come down. southern new hampshire, north shore, winds will shift, the temperatures will drop so if you have evening plans around boston out to worcester, i would say between 6:00 and 9:00, be ready for a passing shower, and the temperatures to drop down into the 60s. south side shore,e, get your turn. later on this evening closer to machine and by tomorrow skies are clearing out. it's all about the sunshine but look at these temperatures tomorrow morning. 40s and 50s. we only recover into the mid and upper 60's in the afternoon despite the sunshine. and it's chillier on sunday morning, but if you are traveling to the cape saturday is your warmer day, a little cooler on sunday but lots of sunshine both days, and up north in the lakes region, the showers today, and look at those highs by sunday. sunshine only in the 50s.

the temperatures will be running in the 30s, so big changes on the way, let's get you out to that trouble spot north of town. >> we are talking about right here before the rest area, this is sky 5, and you can see a truck involved in this crash. there are two, and all that debris on the roadway. this is 495 southbound right here broad street, so if you are traveling towards havrill, this is what you will encounter. the right lane is closed, hard to see in this shot but there is another truck that's off the road so two involved. i will let you this incident is causing delays. you can see that shading starting to turn yellow and red here. another crash, 93 southbound in wilmington, and also watching an accident on route 3 south by 128, your trip on the pike is not too bad this morning, and then as you head south of town the delays are building on 24 out of brockton, and also on the expressway northbound right now about 25 minutes from braintree into boston. trains and buses are still running on schedule. there is big changes coming to

sera? sera: good morning. yes, the superintendent of the mbta transit police force talking about how he supports the idea of putting body cameras on his officers. richard sullivan talking to the boston herald radio saying he would like to see also video surveillance inside every train car, as well. he would like to see the cameras come online when the new red line trains go into service. now as for the body cameras it was earlier this month that the here in boston. the police officer's union challenged the department for forcing officers to wear body cameras in a pilot program after no volunteers came forward. a judge ultimately sided with the police commissioner and the department, and that pilot program is set to go forward to another six months or so. as for the chief of police, they say that they cannot roll out any program without talking with

sera: thank you. police are searching for a hit and run driver accused of killing a man in lawrence. we told you about this crash on yesterday's eyeopener. a 64-year-old man was riding his motorcycle on 114 around midnight when he struck a man and a woman in a crosswalk. they were seriously is hurt. then the motorcyclist was hit and killed by a passing car that kept going. police are searching for a black four-door mercedes. workforce. they opened a new distribution center in fall river on wednesday and now are going to be looking to increase the workforce from 500 employees to 1,000. they will handle large packages like furniture, the company hiring through the website and the fall river career center. a new hampshire cheerleading team is getting ready for a national competition. emily: they will be competing in

weekend. so we have got one more day up in the 80s today, and then yeah. not getting out of the 60s, so hey, fall delayed but fall is coming, and here's what's going to change things up for us. this frontal boundary, it is the leading edge of that cooler air mass, and it is dropping southward, and along that front, we have some clouds, and we have some showers, and for now, the bulk of these are staying to the north across central and northern new england. this whole front is dropping southward, so with here, more towards this evening but into the increase of clouds ahead of it, so a chance for rain, not zero but lower through the afternoon, it goes up this evening, and into the first half of tonight, especially, and i am not expecting a lot of rain, one to .3, that's about the extent of it, but we'll take anything that we can get. a lot of 60s out the door, it's been clear, plymouth down to the cape, 50s, so cooler there, and by 8:00, most of us are nearing 70 degrees, but a fair amount of clouds this

the door, here's one of them, this is by the merrimack service area if you are traveling southbound on 495 you can see they are trying to lift the truck that went off the road. there is also another truck involved in this crash, and there is a degree spill in the right lane so if you are traveling this way expect delays, let's get to the maps and i will show you southbound side, 495, that's where we have got the problem spot, and the right lane is still closed, the backup is a half mile. and as you travel south of there we're watching a crash here on 93 southbound by route 62 in wilmington. and another accident at 128 and burlington, and a third one on route 1 by main street. as you travel the pike not too bad. 20 to 25, and 495 to 128, and heavy delays on the expressway, 30 to 35, braintree into boston. so far, trains and buses are running on schedule. cindy, warm out there still. >> r. cindy: look at the clouds overhead. they have been dropping southward, they are moving in towards you, as well, and 50s and 60s out the door this

up into the 80s again looking for a high of am -- 83 in boston. way above average, and that's despite a fair amount of cloud cover but notice by this evening some showers, they are to the north right now coming in with a cold frontal boundary. this front is dropping, and it is going to bring in cooler air for the weekend, so this is our last day in the 80s and notice by noon, we're dry, it's during the evening, 5:00, 6:00 we get the showers to come in and later around boston out to worcester and into the overnight hours here for you on the south shore and the cape andnc temperatures drop, 40s and 50s when you are waking up tomorrow morning, and the sunshine and only in the 60s here this weekend. really feeling like fall. and if you have plans on sunday morning look at the low temperatures. 30s and 40s, and it will likely be cooler come monday morning, so it would be a couple of patchy areas of frost, and i don't think it will be widespread but yeah today is it. we are trending much cooler this weekend. >> fall is here but good for all
