in recent months, but big change coming up. you look outside right now and it's not so bad. it's 61 degrees in boston. but that wind is already active east-northeast 15 miles an hour. that is going to be with us throughout the day. notice over the next 12 hours that wind gets stronger. sustained winds near 20 at the coastline could gust higher. that will keep the clouds locked. radar this morning, but a lot of times it sneaks under the radar. in the worcester area, visibility is running a quarter-mile. so not the greatest start. mid 50s through worcester county. otherwise, we've got temperatures close to 60 along the coastline. near us, that organized rain passing by south and east of nantucket. the northeasterly wind is the big story the next few days.

and there's a slow transition. we are whipping it right around. it's been a warm month. running about three degrees above average. we were in the lower 70s yesterday. look at the next few days as we take a stretch into the upcoming weekend. we're looking at below average temperatures. 61 degrees right now, though, in boston. we've got that east-northeasterly wind 15 miles per hour. it's really all about the wind the next several days. by this afternoon at 3:00, this is the wind other 20 miles per hour along the coastline. that wind is going to be with us even into tomorrow afternoon and into friday. for the next several days this northeasterly wind is going to have an impact on our weather. it's brought in some fog. visibility down to about half a mile in the worcester area. not a big issue along the coastline right now, but notice the temperatures in the upper 50s to around 60 degrees.

at 62. a little bit cool around worcester county where we started out clear and then had the clouds come in. notice over the next 12 hours in boston, maybe 61 degrees now, but we're falling a few degrees into the afternoon with a lot of clouds and can't rule out patchy drizzle. so a good idea to have an umbrella with you today or a waterproof jacket. th nantucket, there could be low-level patches. we have a stalled front offshore. high pressure to the north. in between, that northeasterly wind is going to rule the next few days. temperatures upper 50s to near 60. the winds will make it feel cooler. by noon, a couple of patches of drizzle here and there. same deal by about 5:00, 6:00.

well. temperatures don't change too much. we fall into the upper 40s and low-to-mid 50s. it's a cool night. things don't change a lot tomorrow as well. the skies may try to brighten across central and northern new england tomorrow, but i think in southern new england we stay locked in the clouds. friday, low pressure will lift northward and that will bring rain friday into saturday. look at tomorrow. we've got the clouds, that northeasterly wind. high of only it feels like it's in the mid 50s in the morning. throughout the afternoon, notice the feels-like temperature in the 50s. wet weather into saturday. sunday into monday, we flip the switch. i think it's going to be a gradual climb out of the pattern. >> improvement follows. >> the roads are quiet. a live look at the expressway.

the weather is going to be changing today. >> it is. i think this is payback from those days after days of sunshine. we're looking at day after day of a lot of clouds. 61 degrees right now. the wind will hold the temperatures down below average the next few days. typical high now is closer to 70. we're going to be close to the 60s through the first half of the weekend with a lot of clouds too. look at this wind. you can see by 3:00 this afternoon we're along the coastline. thursday afternoon, nothing is really changing. those winds still going to be out of the northeast. so the weather pattern is going to be stuck in kind of a cool, gray sort of raw stretch the next several days. 55 degrees in worcester right now. we've got upper 50s in the north shore. low 60s boston to the cape. the 12 hour-by-hour forecast on the cape, it's resembling most of the area.
