john: jc, this happened in the apartment complex behind us this afternoon. today, that uncle face a judge. while he was babysitting the three-year-old, he pushed him down the stairs, tried to strangle him until he was unconscious, and tried to john him in a bathtub. he called police, saying he killed the boy, but tfu a clerk read the charges in court this afternoon. >> murder, two counts, reckless endangerment of child, strangulation, suffocation, assault and battery -- john: it's ecologist says this boy's uncle needs further evaluation before the court case can move forward. levin worcester, john atwater, wcvb newscenter 5.

gloucester police chief leonard campanello, who was placed on leave earlier this month for unspecified reasons. 5 investigates confirms the essex county district attorney's office will review information about campanello and the gloucester police department. gloucester's city council has not said why campanello was put on leave -- they have not said much at all -- but sources tell 5 investigates domestic issues and other problems were the reasons. the city has hired a new hampshire firm to audit the police department. campanello is nationally known for his work helping heroin addicts. jc: the family of a boston boy who drd at a city run camp demanding answers. kyzr willis was just 7-years-old. his family never getting a fine meal -- a final ruling on what happened. newscenter 5's juli mcdonald is live in south boston tonight. juli? juli: the grieving family at the community center where their little boy was last seen alive.
