randy: i'm randy price. erika: we got some rain. we needed it. cindy: some improvement is coming today. clouds and fog across southern new hampshire. portsmouth, 1/4 of a mile. not a big issue around boston, but definitely some areas of fog out there this morning. temperatures in the 50's as we have been the past couple of days. you see radar trying to drizzle. to the west, there's concentrated area, very light showers lifting into western connecticut. big upper-level low spinning is going to throw in more energy. clouds may thin out a little bit. as we get into the afternoon, southern new hampshire, worcester county, showers popping up and not even out of the question that there could be a rumble of thunder with these. because it's so cold aloft, there could be small hail.

caribbean. we have hurricane matthew. this is a category four hurricane. the winds are 10 miles per hour. it's stationary in this position but starting to move north 6 miles per hour. there are hurricane warnings up for jamaica and haiti where they are going to get tremendous amounts of rain. southern parts of haiti expecting 15 to 25 inches of rain, but there could be some isolated amounts up around 40 inches. that is just incredible. the mudslides, there's situation there. landfall is expected somewhere in this vicinity tonight. from there it's moving slowly. tomorrow afternoon, evening, it's up around cuba. it's the middle of the week that it's impacting the bahamas. from there, it continues to lift northward, but it's moving very, very slowly. so by friday night, early saturday morning, it is still way down the coast, likely offshore, but our computer models are struggling, to be honest with you, where exactly this goes once it gets to about

seaboard, will it curve on out to sea? there's a lot of speculation right now with our computer models. the impacts, if they were to be here, wouldn't come until next weekend. it's monday morning. we have a lot of time to watch this. we will do that for you very, very carefully. in the meantime, we have fog out there this morning. visibility 5 miles worcester. thick up toward the new hampshire sea coast. watch out for those areas of fog. temperatures in the 50's as they have been all weekend long. radar n can't rule out drizzle but most of you are dry with clouds but we still have this upper-level low spinning to the west and one more piece of energy is going to rotate in this afternoon. it's so cold aloft, it could create enough instability for an isolated thunderstorm this afternoon. temperatures jump into the 60's this afternoon with a few breaks of sunshine. if we get enough sun, we could flirt with 70 up through the merrimac valley. slow improvements today.

individuals based on race. >> hopefully, it won't happen again and hopefully other fairs don't have to do the same thing we had to take action on. randy: the vendor is not being identified but will not be allowed back to that fair in the future. erika: a show of support for family and friends of marathon bombing victim krystle campbell. 150 runners and walkers took off to the finish line yesterday morning at mass bay community college. proceeds from the name. the race now in its fourth year started as a kids run. the school's president says now the grown-ups start doing their share to honor campbell. >> in her honor, it's an opportunity to do something to help others. the scholarship money we raise will help countless students attend college who might not otherwise be able to. erika: jonathan principato won the race. last year's race raised more

sera: randy and erika, this case spans new england including several law enforcement agencies including the coast guard will be at that meeting today. all are investigating nathan carman, the 22-year-old rescued at sea after he says his boat took on water. they're looking into weather he was operating the boat safely. his mother, linda, was with him and is now presumed dead. rhode island police are investigating her disappearance. they searched heron carman's home in vermont. carman has said he's not responsible for his mother's death or the boat sinking. it's unclear exactly when that meeting will take place today. we know it will be at the coast guard academy in new london, connecticut. channel 5 will be there and bring you developments. live at the coast guard station in boston, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. erika: we're getting new information in a deadly weekend crash on cape cod.

randy: good morning. monday morning. news to go. everything wrapped up in 15 minutes. tracking the tropics. hurricane matthew now bearing down on parts of the caribbean. erika: it is strong and slow. cindy: it's been crawling along the past couple of days, sitting in the same spot over the weekend. 130-mile-per-hour winds. a category four. it's gradually lifting northward. you can see what's to the north. jamaica, republic, cuba as well dealing with hurricane warnings this morning. let me show you the track. category four now expected to stay that way as it makes a landfall somewhere on the southwestern side of haiti during the overnight hours tonight. then it continues to lift northward. eastern cuba sometime tomorrow into wednesday and then it's slowly lifting up here into the bahamas. there's going to be dangerous life-threatening rains here. wind with this as well. some spots could see 15, 25

he was spotted getting some workouts in at the dexter school in brookline. today will be the first time in over a month that brady will be with his team or allowed back on the facilities at foxborough. despite his suspension and yesterday's loss, the pats remain on top the afc east. we're live here in foxborough, erika: several law enforcement agencies, including the coast guard, are meeting today about the case involving nathan carman. he's the 22-year-old who spent a week on a life raft after his fishing boat sank. his mother, linda, who was with him on the boat, is now presumed dead. police in rhode island are looking into her disappearance and whether carman was operating the boat safely. he denies being responsible for his mother's death or the boat sinking. today's meeting is at the coast

25-year-old jose perez rodriguez on route 1 when the motorcyclist just slammed right into him. the trooper suffered serious injuries, but is expected to recover. randy: police are investigating this crash in wellesley that temporarily shut down part of route 9. we're told that electrical utility poles and wires were all over the street right near the oak street intersection after the crash last night. one person taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. framingham man is expected hit-and-run. police say that christopher backed his car into another friday night when the clerk refused to sell him alcohol. the clerk says that he urinated inside the store. police tracked him down where he was refused alcohol once again. he's facing several charges. erika: the engineer behind the train that crashed into a new jersey platform says he doesn't remember it.

thursday morning. investigators say a data recorder that they recovered was not working during the crash. they're hoping to get the second recorder soon, which is difficult because of asbestos at the station. randy: hitting the campaign trail hard today. trump will hold events in virginia before he heads to colorado for two rallies tonight and clinton will give an economic speech in toledo, ohio, erika: a new controversy for donald trump. more than 20 former crew and cast members from his reality show "the apprentice" tell the associated press he repeatedly demeaned women with sexist language, including rating their appearance and talking openly about who he'd sleep with. a trump campaign spokesperson has called those accounts outlandish and false. randy: graffiti blocked out here. someone sprayed black lives

saturday afternoon. no arrests have been made and police say they have not identified any suspects in this case. the hotel opened september 12. erika: a georgia couple is facing fraud charges in a scheme against staples. john douglas and his wife tried to commit wire and mail fraud. they created more than 1100 staples rewards accounts to claim free mercha items online. randy: wow! that's a hot air balloon crashing into power lines during a festival in new mexico. nobody was hurt. the crash caused power outages in parts of the town and the area. they had to replace about four feet of line after the balloon became draped over the line. it was one of two hot air balloon crashes this weekend. a woman was hurt in this crash,

erika: a new flower makes a rare debut. the corpse flower bloomed yesterday morning, but it will only be on full display for about two days. the rare tropical flower gets its name because of the smell. it's the first time in five years this corpse flower opened up. randy: red sox look ahead to cleveland after a loss to the blue jays at fenway. hanley ramirez in the seventh. the jays eighth that would be the game winner. 2-1 the final. the sox will play games one and two in cleveland for the alds before heading back to boston. erika: so they go on after a really special weekend. and the weather just continues. it's kind of been the same. cindy: yeah, stuck in the 50's. we've had rain at times. we're starting out murky this morning. it's still just 57 degrees.

brightening. there's fog right now north shore, beverly under a couple of miles visibility, 1/4 mile in portsmouth. watch out for fog this morning. 50's widespread from southern new hampshire to the cape. a few peeks of sunshine will push temperatures into the lower 60's. we'll keep climbing into the afternoon. there is an isolated shower threat inland. if we get enough sun, could make a run towards 70. mid 60's in the better in the temperature department today. still have a lot of clouds and this upper-level low spinning to the west. as energy rotates around it, it could allow showers to pop up. because it's so cold aloft, that's enough instability for thunderstorms as well. could be small hail with these. on futurecast, notice the brightening. we're trying to get a few breaks through lunchtime. then during the afternoon, notice the focus is mainly outside of 495. worcester county, southern new hampshire, you have the best chance of seeing one of these
