by what happened. it felt like it went on for weeks. >> it was very traumatic. reporter: he was going up to his office last monday when two men pointed guns at him. >> walked up to my face and said do you want to live? do you want to go home 1234 we know where you live. reporter: the armed robbers had one of his employees tied up and they had him in zip ties before they left. >> into the safe and do this and that. reporter: the district attorney's office is trying to serve a search warrant when the officer involved shooting took place. they identified themselves at the suspect's door, but the suspect told them police were not going to take him. they say the officers forked their way in, but once the door was breached an officer saw the suspect pointing a gun at the door. the suspect walked into the hallway still pointing the gun at officers and that's when

reporter: rhondella richardson wcvb newscenter 5. p. ed: florida and north carolina have declared emergencies. >> it is a huge storm. breaking also, jamaica has dropped the hurricane warning and it is now a tropical storm warning. the system will be farther east from jamaica. take a look. the track of it is taking it into western cuba -- excuse me eastern cuba and western haiti with a lot of wind and a lot of rainfall. after that it is trending to the west. it is to the out of question that the u.s. southeast coast gets a more direct impact. we'll keep an eye on this closely. the satellite loop is very impressive. hurricane matthew with a big old eye pictured in the center of your screen and moving off to the north. it is all going to come down to what the midlevel jet stream and upper level jet stream winds try to do. if this system can be deeper

this will fizzle out and it channels our winds in from the north and east. we are calling it mostly cloudy. there are drizzle areas toward dawn as well. as the high shifts southward it brings the winds off the waters and it gives us a stream of moisture. it is low-level moisture that will have a hard time scooting out of here. let's advance this to midnight. a lot of cloud around, right? and thenom you wake up the kids are heading off to the bus stop. pockets of drizzle especially eastern sections of the state. a lot of clouds and patchy fog. the drizzle down there as well. take it easy on the roadways. for tuesday, tomorrow, at 2:00 in the afternoon we start to notice breaks of sunshine moving in from the northeast. this will gradually start sinking southward. so by the end of the day i expect some sunshine. the weather gets better from here for the most part as we

highs either side of 60 with the wind coming in out of the northeast. a little ominous out there, but it gets better. hurricane matthew with winds of 140 miles an hour and moving north at five to 10 miles an hour. drenching rains throughout western seconds of haiti and into eastern cuba and into the bahamas and eventually on up into portions of florida and georgia and the carolinas. potentially if the storm gets close enough theck western haiti and into the bahamas where the hurricane warnings are indicated by red are in effect. the track is trending farther to the west. the atlantic side of florida and into the carolinas and potential for greater impacts. the question becomes what does it do after that? i have shown you a couple of models and i have put an x

center of circulation thinks it is going to be. it will not pan out exactly like this, but it guess you a good -- but it gives you a good idea. where we start to see the discrepancies between these two models is when we get toward sunday and certainly on into monday. the storm is by us with one of the models and another takes it out to sea. again big questions concerning where this track is going to end up. we'll continue watching it carefully. the tnd skies tomorrow. fog early on wednesday and giving way to partial sunshine. we'll keep it sunny into friday. as we start to feel the impact big questions to the when and the where and the how it gets here. to p we'll have more tonight at 10:00 and 11:00.
