board. we are looking forward to it heading up the eastern seaboard as a category four storm with wind of 130-140. just off shore florida toward the carolinas, and then potentially up toward new england. anywhere in this large area is where we think this storm is going to go. it's a lot of real estate. it could pass south, overhead, or to the west, all offering different kin or showers from a nearby cold front. the orange line, heavy rain and wind. if it takes a track through the mid-atlantic, it would be a slightly weaker storm, but we would get plenty of rain and wind as well. we will have the latest track of the storm in the forecast for the rest of the week coming up. ed: the hurricane is leaving behind a mess in haiti. lots of people in massachusetts

every single possibility is in the envelope through the weekend. the good news is you have time to monitor the forecast and make preparations. at this point it is too early to overreact to anyone situation. right now matthew is heading up 20 eastern tip of cuba and into the bahamas. this is a water teat storms to either maintain or weekend. the temperatures are way above 80 degrees, a difference of six degrees. there is no question that the storm will hold strength or even intensify heading for the bahamas. there's a good consensus with the models that take us into the southeastern u.s. or just offshore and will start to hook it around the coast line.

pardon the pun -- we have everything from a direct hit to a brush to a miss, anything is possible at this point. as we take a closer look at this potential track, the official track from the national hurricane center texas over the bahamas and into southeastern u.s., then curves that close to new england. but don't focus on this on impact or may not feel the impact. temperatures will slide back into the 40's overnight, mostly clear skies now but there are clouds to the west that get trapped in the atmosphere. if you are watching from western massachusetts to new york, you will likely wake up to cloud
