randy: and i'm randy price, along with cindy fitzgibbon. cindy: huge in the computer models overnight, as to the potential impacts here this weekend, and yesterday it looked like this was coming up, and now it looks like it may stay to the south so this is a fluid situation. let me give you the latest. category 3. it is moving away from cuba and right towards the bahamas where it is going to be a strong category 3 or 4 hurricane. and then it will brush the east way up through the carolinas, so this is going to take us into the, part of the weekend, and look what happens from here. the bulk of the computer models are clustered to our south, keeping the rain from matthew away, and lessening the impact, so lots to watch, still with matthew, and we'll do that, the official track coming your way in a few minutes. look at these temperatures out the door, grab a jacket, bundle up, and 38 in orange, 44 in worcester, 49 in boston, and 50s plymouth out to the cape,

of the cloud cover, and that is going to be burning off. the high pressure overhead will give us a nice day, but winds are going to be turning in off the water, so we'll jump up close to 60 around lunchtime, and lots of sunshine through the afternoon, but we'll hold in the lower 60s at the coast, and mid and upper 60's inland, again, that sea breeze influencing our temperatures today, but a nice day overall, out to the roads, not as nice, we have got early trouble out west this morning, olessa. >> thank you, we're talking about this crash, in it's blocking all the northbound lanes over by 25 for 290, so if you are traveling that way, expect delays, let's get to the maps and check out the ride, here's a look outside, the lever connector, southbound heavy, traveling into boston, normal for this time of the morning but let's go to the maps and see your ride. once again there is the crash, you just saw the picture of, all lanes are closed heading north passing by 290 and eastbound the ramp to 495 is also shut down

93 south, heavy out of methuen approaching a crash by route 133 where two lanes are closed, once you get past that, not too bad, and then volume does build towards the lever connector. the pike, about 15 minutes right now, 495 to 128, and 24 heavy out of brockton and delays building on the expressway. almost 25, braintree into boston, and moderate delays on the trolley and everything else on schedule. >> thank you, breaking overnight, one person is hurt after this crash in revere. police say that a car slammed in a apartment building around 1:00 this morning on north shore road. the child was not hurt, nor was anybody inside the home. police say this corner is prone to accidents. doug meehan is at the scene with a live update ahead in our next half-hour. >> three minutes after 6:00 and, right now this man is behind bars, one of two accused in a shootout with boston police that prompted a search. this morning, both are expected to be facing a judge on attempted murder charges.

scene in rosalynn dale. antoinette? antoinette: the two, 25-year-old men, opened fire on police officers, all of this happening during an undercover police operation, this started yesterday afternoon during that gun trafficking investigation at a home here on newberg street. police say that eric gonzales and luis cologne began shooting at police. cologne was massive door-to-door search. he was tracked down nearly five hours later on south street, not too far away from here. the neighborhood was put into lockdown. >> i told my kids to shut down the doors, my mother did, went down and locked down everything. >> and one boston police officer was taken to the hospital as a precautions but is expected to be ok. both suspects will face assault

arraigned later today, we'll keep you updated on that arraignment. we're live in rosalynndale, antoinette antonio, newscenter 5. randy: thank you. right now one person is under arrest after a deadly shooting in the city of lawrence. the victim was shot in the basement of a home yesterday afternoon. the suspect, a 19-year-old isaiah tejada is expected in court today facing a murder charge. >> right now hurricane matthew is on theov video of the widespread damage in haiti. downed trees. flooded roads on that island, and some of the hardest hit areas are cut off by flooding. this morning the storm is still a major threat. >> sure is, so 24 hours ago it was right on top of haiti. overnight last night, it moved through cuba, and now it is moving away from cuba and headed straight for the bahamas. the winds are 125 miles per hour. that has weakened after going through cuba, going to strengthen more if it goes

11 deaths are being blamed on matthew. and we want to show you this video near the orphanage in haiti. you can see the power of the flooding there. that orphanage started as you know by a local family who lost their daughter in haiti during the earthquake. they are now taking in area residents, protecting them from the aftermath. the director says that they are safe this morning. that is certainly great news. >> thank goodness for that, and remember you any time on our news app, if you don't have them yet you can download them in the app store on the apple and android. >> today its back to the campaign trail for the two men who want to be vice president of the country. question do they do enough to help the top of the ticket. we have new information from the first and only vice presidential debate and erika is here with that. erika: we have the first post-debate poll on the

clinton face off for a second time on sunday night and you can watch it right here at 9:00 p.m. >> today aaron hernandez is heading back to court. hernandez set to stand trial in february for the 2012 killings of two men in boston. prosecutors say hernandez gunned down daniel de abreu after de abreu accidentally bumped hernandez pled not guilty and is serving a life sentence in the 2013 killing of oden lloyd. ? o, say can you see ? >> the entire celtics team making a statement on the court waiting into the growing movement involving the national anthem and their choice is symbolic and pointed.

>> there has to be cake. >> cindy's birthday today. >> there may or may not be cake every day there's been a shift, and there's been a huge shift overnight with the potential impacts here this weekend. let's get you up to speed, a category 3 hurricane right now, came through eastern cuba, and it is now back in the very warm ocean waters where it's like north here thwarts the bahamas, so it continues northward, hurricane warnings are up for the coast of florida from miami up through west palm beach, when you get north of there to orlando, jacksonville, there are hurricane watches up, so florida is bracing for this, and it will history here, and move through the bahamas, and then brush the east coast of florida, and come very close to the carolinas, and look at this shift in the computer models overnight, we're

matthew is going to stay down here, this is likely now going to stay to our south, and if that happens, we will not be getting rain from matthew. but a lot to iron out here's the track. you can see it moving right through the bahamas, bad news here, eight to 12 inches of rain, storm surge, and very strong winds, you can see them coming up to 130 miles per hour. notice what is happening here as it goes along the coast of florida it, may weaken a bit, but may or may not come on the land and may shore. that being said it comes close to the carolinas, but look at the time frame here. here it is. on columbus day morning in the wee hours, not up near us, so lots to watch with us but a big change in the overnight. you can see the skies in boston this morning, are clear to partly cloudy, it's going to be a beautiful day, it's chilly, 4e are some 30s showing up in the suburbs to the north and west,

notice there are some 50s in the cape. we have a bit of cloud cover there. clouds will be mixing in throughout the day, and low 60s the best we do on the cape, and along the coastline but inland areas, likely come up into the mid to upper 60's. as we have the mainly clear skies now, with the high pressure overhead, and we're in great shape, and really through the end of the week, what we're watching is this front, it will be slow to approach, but as it comes in, saturday evening, there could be a few showers and that front looks kick move out, it will be a chilly night, 30s and 40s again, but outside of the cool night, we have got pleasant afternoons, thursday and friday, we warm up into the low to mid 70s, and as we head towards your weekend, saturday will be dry during the day, and this front approaches saturday evening, and there could be a few showers with that, and through the overnight, and then by sunday morning, look where matthew is, way down the coastline still, and that front off the shore so as it stands, keeping the rain out of the

but things are very fluid with matthew. you will want to check back often to see the impacts on your weekends. right now, less likely that matthew will have an impact here. >> thank you, a busy ride on the roads, we're watching this crash in marlborough, that overturned tractor trailer on the scene, it has all lanes shut down on the northbound side by 290, at this point they are detouring traffic to 25, which will put you onto route 85, so keep that in mind, the rest of the ride looks like this, a s have the heavy delays, and let's get over to the maps, that crash on 495 has all layups closed. in the eastbound side of 290, the ranch to 495 is closed, and i am getting word that lifeflight is on the way so expect that road to be closed. once again, traffic is being detoured off exit 25 onto route 85, as you travel north very heavy ride. approaching route 133 and andover where two layups are shut down. for an overnight, an accident

slow, and more delays to the lever connector. west of town the pike is 20 minutes. 24 slow out of brockton, the expressway a half-hour and braintree into boston and now we're watching the delays on the green line, and they are eastbound on the b branch but everything else is on schedule. >> now to the breaking news. >> doug meehan is live on north shore road where a car slammed into a child's bedroom >> we are just alongside 1a here this building is boarded up, and it was one heck of a wakeup call for the people inside. revere police saying that a car smashed into a child's bedroom. just after 1:00 this morning, nobody inside this apartment building was hurt. one person was taken to mass general hospital. no arrests were made, however this corner, notorious for accidents in the past.

issues focused on their running mate's democrats. we'll hear from them in news to go. >> 16 soccer players are sunday for four games. the girls violated the policy on substance, so the details are unclear, the team has enough players that they will not have to forfeit any games, and the superintendent tells the eagle tribune the school officials are working with students and families involved in that situation. right now dining hall workers at harv went on strike at 6:00 a.m. after failing to reach a contract agreement. the union leaders say the two sides could not agree on wages or health care. they have met 19 times in five months. the school officials have a plan to make sure that all students are fed. >> you hear it happening here, bullets flying towards a home, one of them left a hole above

noah blanchard was working outside when he heard gunshots at a nearby field often used to target practice but this time it came too close. the shooter admits firing in the direction of blanchard's home extinguish he's likely to face charges for this. a rare condition is becoming more common in the united states, symptoms that have doctors concerned, and outrage on the field after a baseball fan behaved so badly, booed the um and hurricane matthew. updates overnight have the track moving away from us. could be but florida and the carolinas are still at risk for some evacuations.

now. and 49 even in boston, so it's a chilly start. we have a nice recovery today you, with sunshine, and a sea breeze, so low 60s at the coast, and mid and upper 60's inland, and milder the rest of the week with sunshine, and 70s away from the coastline and all eyes are on matthew this weekend. there's been a shift overnight with our computer models, it looks like matthew may stay to the south. more on that track just ahead. >> your health this wednesday morning, thousands of pats they could be targeted by hackers. johnson & johnson said that this one touch ping insulin pump has a bug causing a potential cyber security risk. the company sent the letter to 100,000 users telling them that hackers would hijack the device and force it to deliver unauthorized and possibly lethal insulin doses. a boston researcher who uses the pump helped to discover the threat which is considered low. three massachusetts doctors and

evacuations getting underway today, and cindy that be watching the storm closely. >> still a category 3, the winds are 125 miles per hour. and that is after weakening over cuba, but it's now moved away from cuban. you can see towards the bahamas this morning, and there is a large consensus with the computer models this is going to go straight through. and then get very close to florida. and so look what happens. tanguay at all of our models. these are the computer models that have this coming up tow through early next week, so this may never get up here over the course of the weekend. there are, though, hurricane warnings out for florida from miami to west palm beach, hurricane watches are up, and really, this is going to be devastating through the bahamas with eight to 12 inches of rain, powerful winds, and a significant storm surge, and it will be going through the bahamas through tomorrow night, and then friday and friday night it skirts the coast of florida,

carolinas, and notice through early next week the official forecast track maintains this well to the south through the holiday weekend. so that means that this track holds, we're not going to get rain from matthew at all. so stay tuned with the forecast here. what's happening is this front off to the west will come through on saturday and helping matthew. high pressure overhead, we have the next few days of good weather coming i cloudy but it is a chilly start out the door, 30s and 40s, some 50s on the cape right now, and we have a bit of cloud cover, you can see the clouds are thinning out, lots of sunshine. but an easterly wind, going to keep us cooler at the coast, and mid and upper 60's farther inland but we're in great shape. and next couple days, just a little chilly tonight, 30s and 40s again, and we're warming it up back in the 70s here away from the coastline for the end of the week, let's get you back out to the roads, still

>> sky 5 on the scene, this is a crash snarling things up on the northbound side of 495. as you can see, that truck moved to here off to the side of the road almost, it did have all lanes shut down. it was across all those lanes, they did just move it to the side so making progress at the road. northbound, this is all happening by 290, lifeflight on the scene. over to the maps. 495 northbound remains shut down as you travel past that incident there, and expect heavy delays all the way back to route 9, detouring eastbound on 290 the ramp to 495 is shut down and on 93 south we're watching those heavy delays into methuen because of a crash by route 133 that has two lanes closed. 495 southbound, new accident now by 93, one lane there is shut down and 93 stays heavy down to the lever connector and the pike is heavy and south of town expressway still about 30 to 35 braintree into boston, and plus delays on the eastbound b branch. emily and randy.
