grief counseling this morning. the tractor-trailer is still here on the scene and you can see that bicycle right underneath. let's take a look at the video from earlier. this is the mass ave somerville area just after 8:00 this morning. several cyclists in the area when a man was struck and killed after colliding with an 18 wheeler tractor-trailer. cambridge driver remain unseen and has been cooperating. no charges as it is an ongoing investigation. out here it is very busy. if that means the roads will remain closed between somerville avenue and each street around the mass ave area. the victim is a man. still unidentified by name. right now the body is behind that orange barrier.

noon, we are hearing from a former marine sergeant who received a bilateral arm transplant at brigham and women's hospital. john peck lost all four limbs in 2010 when he stepped on improvised explosive device while serving in afghanistan. in august he received the transplant. peck says he was in tremendous pain at first at about to continue fighting. he has this message for the anonymous donor's family. know what you're going through at this time but i will to you this. your loved one's death will not be for nothing. every day that i look down at our new arms, i will drive on through the pain and i will never give up. i will remember his selflessness and his gift until the day i die and i will not take it for granted. emily: pack says his dream job is to become a chef and now he

more from him tonight starting at 5:00. erika: this man is one of two accused in a shootout with boston police that prompted an hours long search. both expected to face a judge on attempted murder charges. antoinette antonio is live at the west roxbury courthouse with more. antoinette: those two 25-year-old men are being arraigned after police say they shot at officers after an undercover during a gun trafficking investigation at a home on newburgh street in roslindale. police say eric was otto gonzales and luis colon began shooting appellees. colon was captured. rosado gonzales got away prompting a door-to-door search. he was tracked down nearly five hours later on south street a few blocks away.

part of the bahamas. look how close this is to miami. the impact will be felt along the coastline and further inland likely as well. this is going to be a category four hurricane expecting tremendous rainfall about eight to 12 inches. there likely will be more than six inches of rain in parts of florida. by friday morning right off the coast, point. from here it begins to lift northward getting into south carolina or very close to the coast of south carolina. by saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. it is actually drifting further offshore but it's not moving further northward in latitude and you could see what a distance this is from our area so i major shift in the past 12 to 24 hours of the track of matthew. if this holds there will not be

building across our area. right now it looks more likely that matthew will have more of an impact on our weekend forecast and computer models, not a single one bring this up here into southern new england that we are still going to watch it closely. locally our weather looking good. blue sky and sunshine right now. in boston, 59 degrees so the wind is coming off the water. stronger along the coast, 10 to 20 miles per hour in nantucket. degrees. i think we gain in the interior but hold along the coast. clear skies once -- overtures are going to drop tonight. there has been more cloud cover across the cape. those clouds will likely road as high purchasing southward. this front off to the west, this is our next opportunity for showers. it is this front as it

south. lots of things working and steering matthew away from us in southern new england. it looks like that is going to be a case but we will keep you posted. 30's and 40's so it's going to be a chilly one. coming in off the water, sunshine, 60's at the coast. things look very quiet the rest of the week. warmer on friday. we approaches you may see a few showers in here. as that front continues to push through sunday morning matthew is down the coast and that is likely where it is going to stay as it continues to stay offshore . we are taking the rain at this point out of the forecast for sunday and columbus day on monday but all eyes continue to be on matthew. it is likely going to have major impacts in florida and down along the southeast coastline.
