minutes or so. no problems on route 3. the pike nice and light this morning. construction wrapping up on 128 near great plain avenue. so far we are expecting trains and buses on schedule. >> breaking overnight, troubling new details in a home invasion and sexual assault in boston. >> this attack involved two victims. the eyeopener's sera congi is at boston attack is still on the loose. boston police say it happened around 4:00 a.m. on tuesday morning. a man broke into an apartment in the area of clarendon and columbus avenue. two people inside were sexually assaulted. boston police were called nearly 12 hours later and worked into the night conducting interviews and looking for evidence. the victims were able to give police a description, but it was a limited description. anyone with information is asked

live at headquarters, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. >> sera, thank you. stories we're following right now. these two suspects wanted in a deadly home invasion in orange are expected in court today. joshua hart and brittany smith of athol were arrested on charges, include murder and attempted murder. they could head back to massachusetts as early as tomorrow. >> the f.b.i. says that a deadly plane crash in connecticut the pilot said it was not an accident. a student pilot was killed when the plane burst into flames on main street in east hartford. it is unclear who was at the controls. police say the f.b.i. got called because the plane got crashed near a pratt and whitney factory, which manufactures jet engines used in the military. >> bicyclists are calling for safety changes after another

cambridge. the eyeopener's antoinette antonio is live at the scene where loved ones honored the victim. antoinette? >> emily, dozen of people gathered last night for a vigil. they call the intersection dangerous. they left this ghost bike in memory of a man they say was a cautious bike rider. a vigil for dr. bernard "joe" lavins was held here last night. he was b last wednesday while riding the bike to work. friends and colleagues dedicated this ghost bike in his honor and they are calling for safety improvement. >> his wife really wants us to make some type of change to this intersection so this is not repeated again. >> bicyclists are asking for bike lanes and bike boxes at this busy intersection. the crash, meanwhile, is still

workers have been trying to repair wells, and the world health organization is sending dozens of the vaccines there. as many as 900 people are feared dead in that country. >> flooding from hurricane matthew now posing new danger in north carolina. dams are on the brink of collapse and thousands now have been told to get to higher ground. first responders now working. many rivers are at theirhe at least 33 people have died in the u.s. as a result of matthew. the flooding is just incredible. >> it takes so long for the water to kind of get everywhere and spread out. this has been going on for days and we're still talking about it. we have behind us another hurricane. category 2.

to bermuda haven't tonight. category 2. it may get a little bit stronger. it looks like going to be going just west of bermuda. that is going to put it on the eastern side of the eye and that is going to increase the storm surge. rainfall likely of about three to 5 inches. once it goes by tomorrow, it's headed to the north atlantic. this is never going to bother us on the eastern seaboard. we've got temperatures that are chilly, although not as cold as yesterday morning. north of boston, a lot of low 40s southern new hampshire. it's 48 in worcester. our coldest pockets have dropped into the upper 30s, not like the upper 20s like yesterday. it is a colder start for you on cape cod compared to yesterday

upper 30s and lower 40s. cloud cover has been sliding on through, acting as a blanket. notice we're clearer along the cape, so the temperatures dropped a little bit more. high pressure is still in control. the cloud moved out this morning. it is back to bright sunshine and it's going to be another beautiful day. to the west there's a frontal boundary producing very scattered, light showers. there's snow flying on the backside of the low pressure. we are going to deal with a few rain showers as this thin out. should be a pretty sunrise. a sea breeze kicking in later in the day. we should sneak into the low 60s at the coast. interior sections, upper 60s for the merrimack valley. 68 in taunton. low-to-mid 60s in worcester county. clouds are exiting this morning. lots of sunshine throughout the

wind brings in low-level moisture. so we may start the day tomorrow with low clouds, fog, and patchy areas of drizzle. low temperatures holding to 50 degrees. we have a shot of hitting 70 tomorrow despite cloud cover. rainfall is not going to be impressive. looks like a tenth of an inch and most of it will fall north and west of the city of st tomorrow. starting out murky in the morning with low cloud, -- low clouds, drizzle, and fog. any leftover cloud are getting out of here early on friday. we're setting up for a nice stretch friday, saturday, sunshine cool to start, back in the low 60s.
