and a pregnant woman and several children struck by a car in the crosswalk. jc: todd kazakiewich is live to tell us how it all happened, todd. reporter: one car was stopped at the crosswalk and then the car behind that car rear-ended it. the second car then crashed into the mother and the children. >> my son was with his friend being pushed by a friend's mom. there was a terrifying crash in hopkinton. >> he has a scrape on his head and scrapes throughout his body. reporter: investigators are seen here recreating the crash determining what happened. police say two mothers and the five young children between them were heading to the park. one mother is pregnant. the stroller she was pushing was in the crosswalk.

being driven and rear-ended the car in front. forcing that car off the road. they crashed into the mother. >> i heard a collision while watching tv and immediately got up and ran outside. reporter: joe rushed across the street to help. he says he grew up here and he has seen a lot of accidents here. chris masters, the father of the injured 4-year-old says the problem is not the you pay attention will. >> it is an active investigationful we will figure out what happened here. we'll get to the bottom and if there needs to be charges we will certainly file them. reporter: the good news here is that everyone is expected to be okay. at this point police are not releasing the identity of the milford man, but the investigation is continuing. reporting live, todd kazakiewich, wcvb newscenter

new at 5:00, we are learning more of a bizarre standoff in revere. in the end nobody was charged. shawn has more on the call. reporter: it started with a 9-1-1 call reported in the building. the 9-1-1 caller lived francis ave, but this is 22 francis street. >> 9-1-1, what is your emergency? >> i just ran out to the sidewalk and grabbed somebody's cell phone and i don't know who this is, but there are shots being fired in my building at 22 francis ave. i have to run back in because i have a kid in there. i will be right back and try to get my phone and call you back. reporter: but that man never called back and did not answer when police tried to reach him again. instead they came with this massive response at 4:30 on

officers said they smelled gun powder in the air. finally s.w.a.t pulled four people out of the home. two men stayed inside and they say out of fear. >> they tried to shoot me for no reason. i didn't know what was going on. i was sleeping. reporter: an hour's long standoff ending when police used loud speakers and teargas. but not one of the men handcuffed and taken into custody were arrested. no gun was found. police left behind a ransacked building offering no explanation. >> why you arrested me? he said stop talking. stop talking. that's all. >> no explanation? >> no explanation. i feel discrimination because we are arabic and muslim. reporter: all of the men in the building are moroccan and all naturalized citizens and all hard workers. one has since lost his job. he missed work while being

basically like animals. reporter: police released a statement detailing what happened and saying it is still under investigation, but offering no apology to anybody who lives here. live in revere, wcvb newscenter 5. jc: former president bill clinton is back on the campaign trail. he told the crowd they should be optimistic about the nation's future. new hampshire will reid? reporter: jc, two college visits as the clinton campaign is trying to extend a narrow lead in the polls by reaching out to young voters. many of whom supported bernie sanders. president clinton knew exactly to whom he was speaking, the majority of whom as you guessed it are in college. he spoke of a sanders campaign hallmark, free college tuition and lowering interest rates

prixceo. karen anderson was in court today will karen? reporter: the judge rejected demotions from the former grand prix ceo, john kasey. he wanted the attorney general's lawsuit against him and boston grand prix delayed or thrown out. kasey was not at today's hearing, but the two attorneys representing him said it was a failed business venture and kasey didn't know the labor day races would never office has claimed john kasey sold tickets knowing he didn't have final approval for the event or even much needed environmental permits. they claimed that kasey used some of the money for gain. when the race was canceled $1.6 million was owed to ticket holders. we also learned today that kasey offered the attorney

jc: jury selection in the case against rolling stone. the lawsuit is over a 2014 article of a woman claimed to have been raped by several men at a fraternity. the administrator claims the article portrayed her as only interested in the school's reputation. details in the article ultimately did not holdup to a police investigation and media scrutiny. she is seek $7.8 million from the magazine. jc: of the football coaches. he claimed he was mistreated and defamed after he reported jerry sandusky for sexually abusing the boy in 2001. he is now seeking $4 million from the school. sandusky, another penn state coach, is serving 30 years for child molestation. >> ben: the king tide is hitting the new hampshire seacoast sending water levels a few feet above normal. they captured the mooding that

why are we getting them? maybe in the wee hours of the morning. as warm as today was there is even warmer air on the way. there will be a front riding along this. it is a warm front just like this. tomorrow's warmth depends on when this warm front comes through a given area. in the merrimack valley, you should get sun and warmth in the afternoon. it may take longer through portsmouth, new hampshire and maybe not even getting to evening. boston west and south it looks like the southwest winds take over and the temperatures will be very warm. and then a front comes through on wednesday. wednesday may be a few degrees cooler, but the air behind that front is not much cooler than the air we will have over us. wednesday will be a warm day. now check this out. 79 or so or 80 i think will be the high tomorrow in boston. there can be places like

tomorrow. wow. boston is warm now. 67 degrees degrees is even with the wind off the water. 75 in hartford and 70 in providence. last night was very mild. tonight will be very mild. the temperatures drop to a couple degrees on either side of 60 degrees. look at the temperatures right now and you can see the area of warmth. ok it includes detroit, chicago, saint louis, sense since -- cincinnati, charleston, west virginia, knoxville, tennessee and on and on it goes, raleighing north carolina. we will be right around that air mass. as we hit 79 the record is a -- is 85. you will find it unbelievably warm for this time of year. changes though late this

and there may be a tropical system that develops down here. i don't think it will bodily bring the storm up, but some of the tropical moisture may interact with a front on friday which could bring significant rains to parts of the area. and then behind that, much chilly air moves in for the weekend and will lapse into next week. the difference between that chilly air mass and some we have had so far is there will be somewhat gusty winds. it will be a legitimately cooler air mass. check it out and her over the next seven days. it is very mild to warm thursday and could turn will ad p -- urn it damp and cooler. friday has a possibility of rain and then looks like we dry out on saturday and sunday and getting progressively chillier with the chilly lasting into next week. ben and jc?

women should get a pap smear to detect cervical cancer every three to five years. now researchers are looking into whether getting the human pap loma vaccine could change that and decrease the screenings to once every 10 years for those who got the series of three, hpv shots in adolescents. the hpv vaccine is effective against 90% of the virus strains that cause cervical cancer. according to researchers at the harvard university school of public health, getting the series cannot only protect ag protect women's wallets by making the pap smears less frequent. jc: the hpv vaccine is recommended for boys and girls at age 12 and given at other ages as well. >> ben: our coverage continues looking at the battleground state of nevada. je cjc the critical -- jc: the critical role it can take.

>> ben: spectacular. i think we would like another, harvey. harvey: well, before we get to another we will have a few showers that are popping up. you can see some around fitchburg and another small one and then a little one around needham. we could get a quick shower or isolated thunderstorm. this is the leading edge of the really warm air making it approach. that threat should be over by morning. the stubborn in eastern mass, particularly the merrimack valley. it may take awhile for the warmth to get there. the rest of the region will break out with sun fairly early and all of us will be toasty by the time we get to tomorrow afternoon. we are talking about temperatures that are mild now and that will be even warmer tomorrow with the warmth moving in. we could be near record highs and we'll let you noy how long the warmth will last.
