the record. look how much cooler it is. 10, 15, 20 degrees in some areas. quite a change. 40s and 50s right now. 53 in worcester. 56 in boston. and it is clear in most areas. you can see a little bit of cloud cover starting to stream in from the west. there's a frontal boundary that's lifting in our direction. for now, high pressure is hanging on. so we are going to see some sunshine for the first part of the day. the sun is up at 7:03. temperatures will climb to about 60 lunchtime. the clouds begin to increase and with the wind off the water, the temperatures aren't going to climb too much. so it's mostly in the lower 60s, a few mid and upper 60s. brightest skies through lunchtime. looks like steady rain tonight. and the rain ramps up towards friday and especially friday night. we'll have the timeline just

nashua. emily riemer >> one person suffering life-threatening injuries after a shooting in boston on nazing street in dorchester at about 11:00 last night. no word on arrests at this hour. this comes amid more violence. a teenager hit by a stray bullet while in his bedroom in chelsea. that's where we find the eyeopener's sera congi live with new inat sera? >> we're live on bellingham street where chelsea police cruiser sits outside the home where the shooting took place. a 13-year-old boy recovering this morning from being struck by a bullet. look at video of him being treated by first responders. this happened just before 8:30 last night. police say a fight between young people led to the gunfire. the boy is telling firefighters he was in his bedroom when a bullet came through, striking him in the shoulder.

house on his own. he was taken to mass general hospital for treatment. as for the suspects, police are looking for two men, but the description is limited. the suspects reportedly wearing dark hooded sweatshirts who left the scene in a dark-colored s.u.v., possibly a ford explorer. police looking for any information the public may have. live in chelsea, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. >> a blood drive will be held today in honor of two police officers wounded in a shootout in east boon last week is out of the hospital. the officers were responding to a domestic disturbance call. the boston police patrolmen's association is hosting today's blood drive from 8:00 this morning to 3:00 in the afternoon in dorchester. >> two arrests in this explosion in salem.

charges don't go far enough. explosives were placed inside the "rainbow times" box in lappin park back in august. the crime caught on camera. weeks later, john richard and lawrence gilman of new hampshire are facing charges. those do not, though, include hate crime charges because police say there's not enough solid evidence to support the boxes targeted for carrying lgbt publication. >> something that i thinkha it just didn't happen. >> people are seen in the surveillance video before the blast. the pair will be arraigned tomorrow. 4:37 on this thursday morning. a battle under way in iraq to overtake a city from isis. >> also, new recommendations for the h.p.v. vaccine.

beverly over 80 degrees. plymouth all touching that 80-degree mark. that was yesterday. that is not happening again today. 40s and 50s this morning. all that warmth that we had yesterday has been kind of squashed down to the south. it's in the lower 70s around d. c. the frontal boundary is to our south. it was the high pressure overhead this morning. so for now, the skies are clear. you can see to the west this is generally lifting up into the northeast. but it's taking its time as it runs into that area of high pressure. so clear for now. we will see clouds increase from west to east over the course of the morning. also notice the winds. they are light and they are going to be onshore pretty much all day long. so that will keep the temperatures down. but through about noontime, a decent amount of sunshine before the clouds take over this afternoon. so the temperatures try and come

they set a record high there yesterday. along the coastline, lower 60s the best we do, mid 60s on cape cod. sunshine through about noontime. the clouds start to fill in. through your evening commute, it's mostly dry. not expecting much wet weather until this evening when a couple of showers, areas of drizzle start to break on out with that easterly flow -- you can see around 11:00 tonight patchy areas of rain, drizzle, so murky to start your friday. temperatures during the overnight hours fall only into the 50s. during the day tomorrow we warm up a little bit. we'll be either side of 70 degrees tomorrow. the wind shifts to the south and east as this front starts to lift northward again. there's going to be some humidity in the air tomorrow as well. notice tomorrow morning there's a lot of rain lined up to our west and then during the day we're going to feed in tropical moisture. so it will get wetter as the day

this is an elongated broad area of low pressure from the bahamas and caribbean. the bulk stays offshore. we'll see if we can pull in some of that tropical moisture friday. friday into saturday, just patchy drizzle in the morning. as we go into the afternoon, notice how the rain fills in and during the overnight hours as well. a lot of it starts to lift on saturday morning. but still a lot of clouds on saturday. it doesn't really brighten that much. the potential is there with this rainfall, totals between half an inch and an inch across the area. here come the winds over the weekend as we dry things out. winds could gust 30 and 40 miles per hour. temperatures don't get out of the 50s this weekend through next week. it's ahead of the charles this weekend. so the rowers will be battling the wind as well. >> couldn't have a few more days of warmth.
