of you. that's right. on the stage here at the university of las vegas last night donald trump refused to say if he would concede the election if he loses, and that was one pointed comment. in a debate focused on key issues like the supreme court, abortion, immigration, the economy, foreign policy, fitness to serve, but first want to get you to cindy with a look at the forecast in new england. good morning. cindy: good morning. you missed w door this morning compared to yesterday. about 10 to more than 20 degrees you want to dress for temperatures running in the 40s and 50s. we have got 39 now down in more -- norwood. it is 57 in boston, and you can see the temperatures are certainly cooler than yesterday morning, so the kids are going to want a jacket at the bus stop, getting off the bus this afternoon. it's in the 60s but the clouds are going to be increasing today. we have got clear skies out there now. and you can see that there is rain off to the west, this is

pressure. so it's going to take its time. we'll manage a good amount of sunshine through lunchtime, for the, before the clouds increase, notice by lunch we're in the lower 60s, and with an easterly wind, that's an onshore flow, going to hold us in the lower 60s at the coastline but lowell, 65 this afternoon, and same deal in framingham, a lot of mid 60s through worcester, and some upper 60's 60s south of town with the clouds increasing, and the mid 1960s on the cape. there could be a couple of showers around but our rain chances really ramp up late tomorrow and tomorrow nig ahead. out to the roads, and how are we looking? >> so far, just volume, thank you, no accidents to report so that's good news, 93 in summerville, and southbound side, picking up the delays. let's look at the delays, 24 slow, delays so far, not too bad on route 3 and the expressway, about 20, braintree into boston, and the pike eastbound, 15 to 20 minutes. 495 to 128, and 93 south, slow out of methuen into andover and down through wilmington and more

out. >> she wants to give amnesty. >> i want to build a wall. we need the wall. >> you are right, i don't want to rip families apart. he started his campaign bashing immigrants calling rapists and mexico immigrants and drug dealers -- reporter: this time there was no handshake, after a number of insults, including at one point trump calling clinton a nasty woman. so the question is did this analysts agree. >> no american can accept that donald trump said that he would not concede the race. when you add the fact his unwillingly to condemn putin, opposing abortion, and what he called hillary clinton at the end of this debate, a nasty woman, hurt him dearly. >> a night of many bad moments. he lost the debate. this was the heavy weight fight and he proved to be a feather weight. he could not make enough

clinton. >> and of course what really matters is how this debate is playing in those critical swimming states. like new hampshire. we watched this debate with a group of young voters at a bipartisan college watch party and the results were met. >> i am not sure. i am kind of leaning towards hillary clinton because i feel like she makes me feel comfortable because what trump is saying is not really feeling well for me based on everything for you? >> i really think that that was the last strike for him. >> i will probably decide november 6 and consult with a few friends of mine but it will come down right to the wire. >> after the debate we asked for a show of hands, and that room was still split. half for clinton, half for trump. some telling us that they thought that he did better last night than in previous debates. now we should also point out that a wmur poll that gave hillary clinton a 15-point lead

night. ahead in the next half-hour we are going to fact-check the issues that came up where both candidates flipped on some of the issues. that is coming up. antoinette. antoinette: we're following breaking news overnight. one person is suffering life threatening injuries after a shooting in boston. this happened on nazing street. no word on any arrests at this hour. police are searching for a spray bullet in his bedroom. doug: sera congi is live in chelsea with new information for us. sera. sera: i am live on bellingham street where this all took place. you can see behind me a chelsea please cruiser outside the home where that stray bullet went in, a 13-year-old boy inside was hit, and is now recovering. here is video of him being treated by first responders just after it happened around 8:20. police say that there was a

outside on the streets that led to gunfire. the boy telling firefighters that he was in his bedroom when a bullet came through, striking him in the shoulder. he was able to walk out of the house on his own. he was with his family, and he was taken to mass general hospital. at this point as for suspects, police are looking for two men, but the description is somewhat limited. they were wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and seen leaving -- they were seen leaving the scene, and they were also in a dark colored suv, wcvb newscenter 5. sera: thank you. new this morning month, data showing police in massachusetts are using stun guns, at an all-time high. the herald reporting last year the weapons were used in more than 1100 incidents. the increase happening as more law enforcement agencies in the state get approved to use them. the most incidents of officers forced to use stun guns were in new bedford, the patrol officers

>> an an investigation is underway after a laser strike hit the plane headed to logan airport. the crew of the united nation flight 790 says it happened nine miles northwest of logan. the flight from chicago landed without any problems. the faa is investigating. right now, the battle to evict isis from the city 6 mosul is underway and the prime minister says it is going more quickly than expected. however massachusetts congressman and iraq war veteran seth molt sunshine raising molten is raising questions. the plan calls for 615 u.s. troops to support iraqi security forces. he says that he told president barack obama what iraq really needs is a diplomatic search. he says the problem is not iraq's military but rather the weak political system which allows isis to form in the first place. >> what do we do the day after we defeat them. because they don't just raise a white flag.

last time we hit 80 degrees this late in the month, the record was 84, so no records yesterday. a lot of spots touching the 80-degree mark. beverly, plymouth, all is well. and that warmth has been pushed to the southeast, near 70 in d.c., and you can see a lot of 40s, 30s, and 50s here across parts of new england. we have that frontal boundary to the south but the high pressure is overhead, and so today will be really a nice day. at least a start with a lot of sunshine, and we're watg west, the wave of low pressure inducing the showers along it, and these are going eastward, and out ahead of that rain we are going to see increasing clouds, so the brightest skies are going to be through the morning and then the clouds move in. 52 in worcester, but look at orange down to 40. and these spots, readings in the upper 60's yesterday morning, so quite a difference out the door. we have got mid 50s plymouth out to the cape, and 45 out the door on the north shore in beverly. you can see the temperatures

and average high this time of year is 60, so certainly more seasonal today, and the brightest skies are this morning. notice how we get towards lunchtime. clouds working in. the clouds thicken up towards this evening but mainly dry. it's going to be -- there is going to be some moisture in the waters that lifts in. that means areas of light rain and mist and drizzle and probably fog, as well, so kind of a murky start when you are heading out coming up on friday morning. look at the temperatures, though, holding in the 50s tonight. tomorrow we're going to jump up close to 70 degrees. more of a southeasterly wind, so it's mild tomorrow and humid, but there is not a lot of rain in the morning. and this front is going to press eastward and pull in tropical moisture. i think that the wettest time period comes in on friday night, and you can see that here on the future cast. drufl around in the morning. showers at mid-day and during the evening and overnight,

first thing on saturday morning, and it gets out of here but wind and cooler temperatures, the story, and the rainfall, though, could be impressive, a half an inch to an inch is likely across the area. still question marks as to where the heaviest rain sets up, but it's getting out of here. look at the temperatures dropping to the 50s and upper 40s by early next week. wind and rain a bad combination. hanging onto a tree. a lot of them are going to be coming down this weekend. >> see it while you can. thank you. so quiet. no major issues to report. delays are in place along the expressway. northbound side, you can see a pretty slow ride. the rest of the ride is the same story. lots of volume on 93. we're watching one crash. route 3 southbound by 495. one lane is closed. 93 is heavy out of methuen. more delays through wilmington and into wakefield, and you have the volume in place down to the lever connector. pike right now your ride there about 20. 495 to 128.

>> they say it affects young cats as well as kittens. there is a vaccine, and it is highly effective. the rescue league is offering a clinic there saturday. we're live in mattapan, nicole estaphan, wcvb newscenter 5. antoinette: thank you, to your economy, wells fargo is now facing a criminal investigation over fraud allegations by the employees. california's attorney general is launching the probe after reports that bank employees had been o permission. wells fargo has already been fined $185 million for the scheme used to boost sales quotas. the ceo resigned last week. doug: a possible break for airline passengers is in the works. the obama administration wants airlines to refund the baggage fees when luggage is substantially delayed. so far there is no clear definition of what will be considered a substantial delay. nonetheless the airlines will have to change the way that they

claims from last night's presidential debate. antoinette: but first a look at the forecast. goodbye to the 80-degree temperatures. >> yeah, a taste of summertime yesterday. but today is going to be a nice, fall day. we have got the clear skies this morning month. certainly much chillier, temperatures running at 10 to 2. colder than they were this time yesterday morning. so you want a jacket as you are heading out. a lot of 40s showing up north and west of town, 40n the mid 50s and we have those down through the south shore now to the cape, so either side of 50, the kids will likely want a jacket or a sweatshirt, off the bus, clouds will be increasing, and it's running in the 60s, not the 80-degree weather that we had yesterday. you can see how clear it is. we have rain off to the west, moving towards us running into the high pressure but the clouds will be moving in, so i think that the blatest skies, as we come up into the lower 60s,

emily: so biden was in town to speak about the cancer moon shot initiative. that goal is to double the rate of progress in cancer treatment. he will be campaigning in new hampshire today, rallying in support for secretary clinton in nashua. still ahead this morning in news to go, how the head of the gop is responding to that donald trump debate comment that is now causing post-election concerns, and we will get to that coming up. doug and antoinette. antoinette: see you in ten minutes, thank you. breaking news person suffering life threatening injuries after a shooting in boston. this happened on nazing street in dorchester around 11:00 last night. no word on any arrests at this hour. >> right now a boy is recovering after he was hit by a bullet in chelsea. that boy hit in the shoulder while in his bedroom last night on bellingham street. police are searching for two suspects right now. >> and an investigation right now after a laser strikes a plane heading to logan airport.

flight 790 says it happened about nine miles northwest of logan. the flight from chicago landed without any problems. the faa is now investigating. doug: right now one of the two boston police officers shot in east boston is out of the hospital, and that's good news this morning as an effort honoring those brave men gets underway today. the boston police patrolman's association hosting a blood drive in dorchester, it runs from 8:00 this morning until 3:00. now the blood drive happening as we learn that officer general, officer morris, meanwhile, also injured in the shootout, and he remains hospitalized. the bppa releasing this statement saying, "we ask that people pray for matt morris, his wife caitlin and their retired family during his road to recovery." the suspect in that shooting was killed, and now boston city council has questions as to how he became a constable for the

>> 6:43, the eyeopener team is ready with your news to go, and in chelsea, dorchester, mattapan and emily is leading our coverage of the final debate from las vegas. doug: it will be in 80s in vegas today, not much here. cindy: 81 yesterday in boston, and you know what's odd for october but this late in october to get an 80-degree reading, we have not had that since 1979. it was great while it lasted. that is not happening today, all that warmth has been pushed to the south, and you can see the temperatures this morning near d.c., and it's clos 70 degrees, we're in the 40s, and 50s, and that frontal boundary to the south, the cooler side but the high pressure is overhead so the skies are clear and we are going to have a good amount of sunshine the first half of the day, and we watched the rain and the cloud cover advancing in our direction, so it may clear out, the clouds will be slow, so i think that we'll manage a -- several hours of sunshine. 52 in worcester, and 57 in boston but look at orange, 39 and lots of 40s, through the merrimack valley, the north shore, mid 50s on the cape

election. >> the rnc chairman said that the party would accept the results of the vote. trump's running mate says they will accept the results, "if they are fair." trump has said in recent years that the election is rigged but has offered few specifics. antoinette. antoinette: we are following breaking news overnight. one person is in the hospital with life threatening injuries as boston police investigate a shooting. the shots street at 11:00. no word on any arrests. a 13-year-old boy is struck by a stray bullet while inside of his home here in chelsea. police say that this all happened at 8:20 last night. the boy was taken to the hospital after being hit while in his bedroom. the shots fired came from a fight between a group of young people on the street. the victim was with his family, and he did manage to walk out of his home, but they did take him
