off. antoinette: and by the way it's not saturday or sunday. doug: right, right. right. cindy: it is damp and muggy. it slowed me down, probably going to do the same for you. the visibility is a quarter of a mile from worcester into boston. this is into southern new hampshire. so heads up on the fog. there is light showers showing up here, especially up through worcester and up into southern also areas of mist and drizzle so it's just a damp start, and very muggy, and watch out for the fog. the kids heading to the bus stop, and maybe tough to see them. temperatures near 60 this morning. and around 70 this afternoon, despite the fact that there will be rain around, so rain gear a good idea today. and 54, look at lawrence, beverly and boston down to the cape, and we're running above 6e warmth coming up with the southerly wind. you can see that moisture lifting northward now, so the wind flow is out of the south,

take a long while for that to press, and we'll see showers fill up from the south so by noon, nearing 70 degrees, and as we head towards 5:00, could be some downpours around. you can see that here on the future cast. nothing much more than light showers and drizzle through the morning commute. a few showers around lunchtime, and there you see the heavy rain and downpours. it gets wetter as the day wears on, and foggy now. let's go out to the roads, that is if you can see them, good morning, olessa. >> a bit hto we have got the delays in place heading into boston, and let's go to the maps and you can see the rest of your ride watching a road closure, 1a, shut down for an accident. southbound lanes are open but expect delays, and 93 south, stop and go, or approaching the spot pond and out of methuen. the pike, still in good shape, and just hearing that the hov lane by granite avenue is closed on the northbound expressway. so your ride there, braintree into boston, 20 minutes at this point. and most of the trains and buses are running on the schedule.

. it is not far from where she was last scene on wednesday evening. if we get any updates we will pass them along. live this morning in burlington, sera congi, wcvb newscenter 5. >> thank you, also breaking overnight, a bicyclist is seriously hurt after a collision with a tow truck in worceer street. police say no charges were filed at this time. the telegram reports it appears that the man rode his bike into the back of the truck. right now a man is preparing to face a judge. charged in a shocking crime. police say that he pulled a teenager off of the street and attacked the victim in this apartment building. today we should get new details on this case.

julie mcdonald is live for us. >> police wick to make an arrest we do have a photo of the 21-year-old mateo being arrested on charges of kidnapping and aggravated statutory rape. on her way to school the 13-year-old grabbed by mateo and dragged into a second apartment at 76th phillip street. police say that the victim was sexually assaulted for two hours. the teen then took the five-minute walk to school, ll then called police. >> the victim was able to provide police with information that led to the capture and the arrest. >> listen to this, mateo was on pretrial probation with an ankle bracelet but not a prior sex offender. the mayor is calling for a review of everyone in lawrence who wears an ankle bracelet. there will be an increased police presence in that neighborhood this morning, but investigates do say that they do not believe that there is any threat.

mcdonald, wcvb newscenter 5. doug: thank you, a man is under arrest and due in court after a boy was hit with a bullet. kristen garcia was arrested on 93 and andover less than 24 hours after gunshot erupted. 13-year-old juan lopez delgado was in his bedroom when he was hit by that bullet after spending time in the hospital he's back home this morning. >> he's kind of especially when you are sleeping in your bed and you don't expect anything, and you know, you are on the third floor. doug: the suv that he was driving in has been impounded as part of the investigation. antoinette: the two men suspected in this explosion in salem. john richard and lawrence gilman, both of new hampshire, are accused of putting the explosives in the newspaper box of the rainbow times back in august. the men do not face hate crime charges because police say that

for carrying an lgbtq publication. doug: we are hearing from the mother of a toddler last week shot in roxbury. this mother wants other people to know that her daughter is loved. she says, "my kids are my life. i felt like a failure because i couldn't protect her." she let the girls spend the day with her husband. the toddler was shot while sitting in the back of a car. her father has gang ties and was thear police need help in identifying a person in interest seen in the area at the time of the shooting, he was wearing a "black snake moen" helmet. he -- he was wearing a black helmet. >> it is a push in the battleground states. the republican donald trump and mike pence hitting north carolina, and pennsylvania, and new hampshire. democrats hillary clinton, tim kaine, and some big name supporters, will campaign in florida, pennsylvania, and ohio.

get that. >> we had one and then i was out. >> right. >> we had more than one, but whatever. there you go. it's not very sweet out there. >> it is tough to see. a lot of fog and rain will become a bigger issue. so take a look at the impacts for the rain going up here this afternoon, and into tonight, and very high, and still some rain around tomorrow before we dry things out on sunday. so the potential is there f of rain. to be honest i think this computer model may be underdone, especially here in eastern massachusetts where we will likely get in on some downpours late this afternoon and this evening, right now we're seeing the very light showers lifting north here, north of worcester into southern new hampshire, and patches of mist and drizzle around, but look at this. fog this morning. big issue, visibility at a quarter of a mile in worcester. actually come up, and to a half a mile in boston. a quarter mile last hour, and same deal up on the north shore of beverly.

but you step outside, and it is muggy out there. we have got readings in the 50s and lower 60s now, and look at these high temperatures this afternoon. right around 70 degrees, some spots lower 70s, and that's despite all the clouds and the rain. it's the southeasterly wind bringing up this tropical air from the south, and all the while we have a stalled out front to the west. you can see how the rain is riding just to the north, so we're going to miss out on that rain, at least for now, and we'll watch the showers fill in from south to north, so through the morning see is what you get, and we get towards lunchtime, and we start to see a couple of showers breaking up, and then look what happens late this afternoon and this evening. rain really begins to fill on in. these are heavier showers, and downpours, and we're going to keep these going right up until about midnight, so if we have friday evening plans, it looks like the rain is going to be an issue for you, and after midnight, we'll start to dry things out but a lot of fog, and still some lingering drizzle, as well, temperatures overnight, hold in the 50s and lower 60s,

tomorrow, and then as this system pulls away, winds pick up on the back side and bring down chilly air. and saturday night into sunday, cold enough, for a bit of snow in the mountains of central and northern new england. first place here of the season. we're talking about another round of showers possibly after the morning hours tomorrow, and mid-day into the afternoon, there could be a passing shower. but much of your saturday is dry. it's just the winds really picking up. as we go through the afternoon hours, you can see them ramping up on saturday night, gusts to 30 to 40 miles per hour, and os sunday, so certainly going to be an issue for the head of the charles regatta, battling the winds as the rowers go through, and sun is back on sunday, and it's a dry, sunny stretch but blustery and chilly next week. >> ok. we're heading towards the end of october. thank you. so far the roads this morning month, not terrible considering the conditions, just not very pleasant if you are heading out the door. we have got the fog and the poor visibility there, and you can see southbound, more volume heading into boston. now to the maps and see the rest

out the door with the temperatures in the 50s and lower 60s, and a whole lot of humidity. we are actually going to jump up close to 70 degrees, and as we have got the showers coming on in, and putting, could be a thunderstorm towards this evening, and so there you see that flow coming up from the south and that is going to bring in more moisture were don't expect much more than a light shower or a drizzle, and around lunchtime, notice a couple of showers breaking out, and here are the heavy downpours, 5:00, 6:00, this is when we have the best chance of getting in on thunder and lni continue off and on through midnight, before we begin to dry things out, and should be drier in the morning hours, and we'll watch, one more piece of energy rotate through with a couple of showers that may pass through tomorrow afternoon. and we're going to dry things out but look at the winds, they pick up tomorrow, and into sunday, and gusts 30 to 40 miles per hour. and then it's going to bring in the chill, and the temperatures, drop after a morning high in the low 60s on saturday, and we will not get out of the 50s with gusty winds and sunshine on sunday. get you out to the roads.

missing since wednesday evening has been found safe and is ok. crews rescued 45-year-old tanya condon-frieden shortly after midnight. she was found by search dogs in a billerica swamp near where she was last seen on wednesday at 5:00 p.m. police say that she may have spent up to 30 hours in that swamp. she was taken to the hospital for evaluation. police are still investigating exactly why she went missing and how she ended up in that swamp. live in burlington,er >> also breaking, this man, under arrest, the state police say that he drove for miles on 93 in new hampshire, going the wrong way. 34-year-old michael draca arrested in canterbury, driving south in the northbound lanes. the state police are charging him with dui. >> and also breaking, a cyclist crashes into a tow truck in worcester, and that rider has serious injuries this morning. the collision happened just

sexual misconduct at the school. lawrence academy is the latest in a string of schools asking students and alumni to report current or past abuse. several elite schools are dealing with such allegations, and including phillips andover and st. georges in rhode island. a senate candidate was detained by marshalls and flown to virginia to testify at a military commission proceeding. stephen gill was held at gunpoint on tuesday. the globe reports t voluntarily claiming that he received an unlawful subpoena. gill was ordered to testify at the hearing for a man accused in the uss cole bombing, who is awaiting trial at guantanamo bay. gill is an attorney, and a lieutenant commander in the navy reserve who used to oversee lawyers in military cases. >> the feds and state attorney general's office are taking over the probe of a former gloucester police chief. leonard campanero announcing his

out the door. expressway is slow and the fog, you can see the visibility, not the most pleasant driving conditions. now to the maps you are watching a serious crash if you are traveling through andover, 495 south just after 93, route 133, two lanes shut down over a tractor trailer crash, and two other vehicles involved with serious injuries reported so avoid, if you can of course, expect that to be out there for at least an hour. and another accident clearing here as you travel by medford square, 93 south, delays back into wilmington, and a slo on the pike, 40 minutes from 495 to 128, and expressway right now, about a half-hour trip from braintree into boston, still seeing delays on the low line but everything else is running on schedule, so foggy this morning. rain later, cindy? >> we have light mist and drizzle out there but nothing heavy but the visibility is way down with the fog, a quarter mile in worcester and miami hala mile in boston. the fog is an issue so watch out for the kids headed to the bus stop this morning. tough to see them. rain gear a good idea off the bus this afternoon. i do think that there will be

readings in the low 60s and look at this by noontime, we're jumping up close to 70. very muggy with the showers developing this afternoon. temperatures may sneak over 70 in a few spots, so not really feeling like october out there. you can see the moisture coming up from the south, and heavy rain off to the west, and our wet weather will come from this moisture lifting in, and you can see how the showers kind of blossom. just after lunchtime today, with the heavier downpours, for the evening commute, can't rule out a rumble of thunder and these will persist until midnight before we dry t we are staying in the 50s and lower 60s tonight, and these will be the high temperatures tomorrow. once the storm goes by the winds shift to the north and west and behind it, colder air feeds in, and that is snow up through the mountains of central and northern new england, and chilly winds will dry us out coming up on sunday. and we'll get back the sunshine but tomorrow still showers around. not too much in the morning but mid-day into the afternoon, a passing shower or two. not going to be raining all the time but still the winds really picking up.
