by route 24. expecting trains and buses to start the morning on schedule. randy: right now drivers are facing what could be a rough commute. this is video in overnight as crews tear down toll plazas. today will be the first real test of open tolling on the mass pike. emily: the eyeopener's sera congi on the road this morning. sera: lots of signs around as you approach toll plazas, warning you about what is to come. there are 23 work zones in place along the pike. you can see lots of flashing lights. these traffic patterns are different this morning. you are not supposed to stop. there is a 15 mile per hour speed limit as you go through

the traffic patterns are different. they began demolition over the weekend. construction crews are working on getting rid is -- getting rid of the center of the plaza. you will travel to the right of the construction zone here as we go through these west end toll plazas. there are a lot of people but you are not stopping as you go through the toll plazas. crews have been working overnight to get the plazas ready for the commute this morning. you could take the mbta. the goal is more than just about traffic. >> the long term benefit is to improve air quality, congestion,

was on the scene for much of the night. emily: other stories we're following right now, police are searching for a man they say sexually assaulted a female student near boston college. state police say the man grabbed the victim as she walked on commonwealth avenue around 2:30 yesterday morning. she says he followed her to an area near chestnut hill ave. she managed to get away. randy: the suffolk county da's office is investigating the officer-involved shooting of a man, accused of attacking emt's with a knife. it happened overnight sunday in bost going in and out of this apartment on shawmut avenue. they say the suspect, identified by family as terrence coleman, was suffering from paranoia and schizophrenia. right now, a driver is facing oui charges accused in a drunken hit and run in salem. three people hurt two of them children. the eyeopener's antoinette

expected in court later today. we are awaiting word on how serious the injuries are. here is a look at the car. it happened around 8:00 last night. a woman and two children were hit when they were crossing the street here. a lot of people were out and about with costumes at the time and it was pouring rain. the driver left the scene but they arrested 52-year-old dexter mitchell about 2 hours later. general hospital. the other woman and child were taken to salem hospital. the extent of the injuries still unknown. we will bring you the latest information as we get it. emily: thank you. commitment 2016. with just 8 days until election day hillary clinton and donald trump are going after every vote. but the focus continues to be on clinton's latest email scandal. the eyeopener's erika tarantal is tracking overnight

emily: today scientists on cape cod will try and figure out what led to the death of a 12-foot great white shark on an orleans beach. the shark was spotted yesterday afternoon, struggling in shallow water off the coast of nauset light beach. the atlantic white shark conservancy was called but the shark was dead before they they say they had not tagged the mail shark before. this is the first shark stranding on cape cod this year. a westport farm is under investigation again after a bull escape. the bull weighing a thousand pounds was on the loose for hours before it was corralled yesterday near westport high school. the bull escaped from a farm where earlier this year hundreds of animals were removed because of unsafe and unsanitary conditions. police say the owner allegedly lied to them initially claiming

start on schedule. emily: an internet attack is blamed for flooding 911 call centers with fake calls. and investigators are warning that the attack is spreading across the country. operators in washington say their phones began to ring off the hook and that it was impossible to keep up. but there was no emergency the calls were a hoax caused by a hack. the hack took over people's phones when they clicked on a link spread through twitter. users then lost control of their phones. >> it started calling 911 like crazy and i couldn't stop it. emily: the only way to stop the hack is to turn your phone off. an 18-year-old washington state man is under arrest, accused of data service interference. randy: your economy this monday morning, we're expected to learn more details this morning about a multi billion dollar deal between general electric and baker hughes. the 30 billion dollar agreement would combine g.e.'s oil and gas businesses with baker hughes,

traded company. the deal also helps g.e. cut costs, allowing them to better compete with rivals. the state's new commission on daily online fantasy sports will hold its first meeting today. the commission was created as a part of this summer's economic development law. they're tasked with looking into online gaming issues and completing a report by next july. the state's treasurer and lottery commission chair also plans to file legislation expected to be part of today's meeting. a check of the markets, asian shares were mostly lower overnight as the fbi's probe into emails possibly related to hillary clinton raises uncertainty. stock futures here are higher right now. investors will watch for the october jobs report to out on

emily: demonstrations against the dakota access pipeline are spreading. a vigil was held this weekend in bangor, maine in solidarity with protesters in north dakota. they're fighting against the pipeline saying it cuts through sacred tribal grounds, and threatens the water supply. in washington state, protesters gathered to show their support for stopping the project. the pipeline would bring nearly 500,000 barrels of domestic crude oil through four states. randy: an inspirational play on the cricket field. english player liam thomas chases down a ball against pakistan when he loses his teammate he finishes the play. fans cheered on both sides of for this. emily: a halloween treat for this little florida boy. 4-year-old jaden hayes dressed up as an army soldier for a block party yesterday inspired by his dad, who's been stationed in iraq. but what he didn't realized was that his dad was there. army sergeant jermaine hayes surprised his son at the event. now they can go trick-or-treating tonight

emily: the suspect in a week long manhunt has been shot and killed by police in oklahoma. michael vance was wanted in connection with a string of violent crimes. police say he killed two of his officers, and carjacked multiple people. vance then documented his crimes on facebook live. the 38-year-old was killed sunday night in a shootout with police. randy: a leominster man heads to court today to answer to charges of rape. andy thao is accused of raping a brockton high school student in the school parking lot. it happened thursday afternoon during school, according to our media partners at the brockton enterprise.

emily: police are searching for the man they say attacked an mbta employee, while wearing a mask. the worker was at the cedar grove station on the mattapan line early sunday morning. he tells police the suspect claimed he didn't have money for the fare, and then punched the worker in the face and pulled him onto the platform. the attacker took off when two passengers called for help. new video of an attack at a new orleans airport terminal last year. kevin whis this happened in march of 2015 the video just now being released publicly. white was shot and killed by police. nobody else was seriously hurt. randy: a new hampshire teen is facing charges after he was clocked driving over 100 miles per hour. new hampshire state police say 19-year-old ryan dicicco was driving erratically on i-93 in campton. troopers clocked his speed at 108 miles per hour. dicicco is now facing several
